Kay provided us with a wonderful breakfast, and arranged lots of vegan alternatives for me. The B&B was a short walk from Pocklington, and from there we were able to catch the bus into York and be in the centre of town within 45 minutes. We would absolutely come back and stay again, we had a lovely time

The walk to Pocklington took 10-15 minutes, it was lovely in the sunshine but the path is a little narrow, I think it could be tricky if you were wheeling a suitcase

Friendly owner. A warm room with a comfy bed. The breakfast is continental (fruit juice, fresh milk, cornflakes, bread for the toaster, yoghurts, cheese and jam) left at your door in the morning in a cool box. We had our own front door key so could come and go as we pleased (useful for early morning dog walks).

We arrived in the dark so missed the entrance sign so I went to the back door by mistake. A bigger or lit sign would be useful. The shower had a bottle of what I presumed was all in one hair/body stuff, though it wasn’t labelled.

Dog friendly! The owners were very welcoming. The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Although near a main road, our room was very quiet. Continental breakfast left in a cooler outside our door, was perfect. Very close to the Canal which is being restored. The towpath is a nice walk. Despite the noisy children, it was a lovely stay and I would recommend it

The young children were noisy, until they went to sleep.

Great size room and en suite. All very clean, the shower was very easy to work. Our breakfast was delivered to door in a cool box. Contents inside consisted of a very nice continental breakfast. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The location was very pretty. We would stay again on our next visit to York.

Hosts very friendly. Room slightly smaller than expected but we did arrive early and find ourselves in the wrong room!! Stayed in it anyway as hosts lovely. Tea / coffee available, private loo and shower.

A bit surprised at being asked to leave at 9am (given it was a Sunday and checkout was up to 10am that hour made a difference!) as hosts were going on holiday but after discussion, we compromised and let ourselves out at 9.40. All very amicable. The only other thing we would say is it would have been useful to have some local info / wifi details etc in the room on arrival but given we weren't in the expected room this may have been overlooked.

It was a very late booking for my partner and our dog and we couldn't have been welcomed more warmly by the host. The room we were given was very lovely and the breakfast was enjoyed very much. We stayed two nights and would really recommend this as a stopover or a lengthier stay to explore the surrounding area of York and beyond.

Nothing at all, from start to finish our experience was terrific

The owners were really personable and instantly made us feel welcome and at ease. There was a lotof care and effort put in to make us feel comfortable. They really went the extra mile with packing breakfast for us to have in the morning! Overall the place was lovely and clean, some areas could use some TLC but this was overshadowed by how homely and comfortable the whole place felt.

The breakfast was continental style and delivered to my room. I had a table set to eat at. It was very cosy and comfortable. Plenty of food

I always look for how I would get out if there was a fire. There was a smoke alarm and two doors between me and the hall way which was good. Exit from my accommodation would be through the bathroom window. The bedroom window did not open fully. All in all I was able to reassure myself that I had a fire escape. I have quite severe hearing loss and don’t wear hearing aids at night. I would not hear a smoke alarm.

The owners were very accommodating to my requests, the lamps with built in chargers were brilliant and very convenient. I liked the breakfast format really enjoyed the Granary bread provided for toast. Really really pleased with this place couldn't have asked for more. They allowed me to pick up my keys at 10am and then return after midnight as was visiting for a wedding. Great people that run it who answered all my questions. Will definitely return when back in the area, hidden gem.

We could only stay one night unfortunately, but what a lovely place. The traditionally styled room had comfy beds, very clean, powerful shower, big telly and was very spacious. Breakfast is provided in a cool box left outside the room and was plentiful and varied, just what we needed to start the day. Pocklington is a nice place to visit, Market day on Tuesday with lots of artisan shops and stalls. It's about 20-30 minutes walk from Ashfield but worth the walk, good cafes & restaurants too.

We were very happy with our stay.
