We liked the location because it is right across the road from the lough and we were able to watch the ferry and other boats come and go and there's a lovely prom and also woodland walks nearby. There was a fridge in the room which came in handy for storing water, wine, etc.

Lift wasn't working so people with mobility problems had to walk up flights of stairs. When we were shown to our room it had a view but only from a low level window however the manager was kind enough to juggle around bookings so we were able to manage to get a room with a good view and full size window. Be careful to book bed AND breakfast if that's what you want on the site as we made a mistake and ended up paying for breakfast separately! We had to ask for a hairdryer which is normally in rooms. All in all it wasn't the ritz but you get what you pay for and the view was really lovely.

The Narrows is a lovely b and b as good as any hotel, Its a little aged but the room was as good as any hotel room with a large comfy bed, large en-suite shower room and good shower. Mini fridge was great also as it was 24 degrees outside. The entrance is through a lovely courtyard which captures the afternoon/evening sun and lovely to sit out on a good evening. Breakfast was so tasty I would go back just for it. Our hosts were lovely, kind and always accommodating.

It would have been perfect if the lift had been working as we had mobility issues but our room was on the first floor which was okay, otherwise everything was perfect.

Brilliant location everything on doorstep, rooms clean, spacious and comfortable.Breakfast superb 10/10 great night away and value for money definitely will be returning. Locals couldn't have been more friendly and helpful on where was nice to go for day drinking and later evening entertainment. Bull and claw a few doors down has a lovely beer garden where you can enjoy drinks looking out over the Lough. The leprechaun bar good wee spot for evening drinks and once again everyone there was lovely 😊

Wasn't a thing we didn't like, the narrows is a great place to stay and portaferry as a whole is perfect for a getaway break

The Narrows is a great quaint guest house. We paid glamming prices for the comfort of a guest house. It was right on the water. It was lovely falling asleep while listening to the wind and the lough water lapping. The breakfast as second to none, an Ulster Fry better than my mums! Loved that our little dog was welcome at the guest house and the local bistro. We had a great stay, the local restaurants were not only reasonable, the food and wine were fantastic. My kids loved the Ferry Trip to Strangford. Locals were so very friendly. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem. Travelling as a single mum, I felt very safe at the Narrows!

Prices of the room are very reasonable as compared to its location. Parking is free throughout on the street on both sides of the road. Rooms are available with full or partial Sea/ Lough view from the window. It’s a wonderful location to relax. Breakfast served here is of excellent quality and the staff is very friendly. If any issue just give Krzysztof (owner) a call and he shall sort it out for you as he is very helpful at all times. Warm/Hot water is available throughout your stay. Tv and mini Fridge were working perfectly.

Lift wasn’t working and had kids so was bit uncomfortable walking upto second floor. Heating Radiator are turned off from midnight to 5/6am, however there is electric heater but couldn’t warm up the room enough as one night it was quite stormy/cold weather. Main Window blind and Wi-Fi were not functional.

The Narrows is on the seafront with fantastic views across the lough to Strangford. Even just watching the ferry travel back and forth was mesmerising. Location gret with plenty of walks close by. We were staying on the top floor and unfortunately it was blowing a gale and the wind whistled beneath the roof slates which made the room chilly. However once in bed we were warm. The restaurant is open to the public and so it wasn't a buffet breakfast arrangment but there was still plenty of choice. Or dog was allowed to sleep in the bedroom but could not be left on her own if using the restaurant, with the exception of breafast. That meant on Saturday evening we put her in the car while having dinner but were able to take her into the pub (Bull and Claw) close by for the rest of the evening which made our stay in Portaferry more enjoyable.

Breakfast arrangements and the lack of toast and cereals that you normally get in a B&B.

The narrows is perfectly positioned with great views and is close to the ferry and bars/restaurants. Very friendly and helpful owners, we arrived after the bar was closed but we were provided with an ice bucket to cool our own wine. We found free street parking easily, the room was comfortable and clean with tea/ coffee making facilities. Best of all it is inexpensive and dog friendly and we were surprised to find a cooked breakfast was included. We would have no hesitation staying here again if in the vicinity .

This was our 2nd time staying at The Narrows this summer. First time was with the children and this time was just my husband and I. The position of the Narrows allows a beautiful view over to Strangford and the forest around Castle Ward. Some of the bars are on the main street, which means your never too far from a beautiful sunset and a drink if you so wish. The building itself is quirky with a nice courtyard and garden. If you enjoy stargazing, this spot is nicely located with the garden out back. Breakfast is also not be missed.

I think a hammock swing or bench would be a good idea so you can enjoy the stars at night. No other concerns.

Location was great with a lovely view across the lough to Strangford from our room. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Nice terrace and outdoor space.

Hoped to have dinner there but hadn't booked. There was a private function on that night so couldn't eat there. Recommended a place nearby, website said open till 10 but actually closed at 7pm. Not the fault of the Narrows but not too many places to eat dinner on a Thursday in mid-September.

The location is great and the rooms are nice, we just had a short stay arrived at 19:30 and gone by 9:45

The Room we had was lovely but only had a bath which is great if you are there for a little longer. the Breakfast was just ok I was looking forward to it from the reviews I had read before, It was just ok. The girl serving us was not very happy to be there, maybe was just having an off day?? Did a lot of tut tutting if things had to be changed. Wasn't very observant when told a child had been sick and vomited on the floor behind us, mother and child had to leave, all was left as was. We had to let other Guests know on a number of occasions! not to sit at the table. There was no effort made to clean up.
