Crowne Plaza - Belfast, an IHG Hotel

The staff were super friendly and helpful. When we arrived the room wasn't ready which was disappointing as it was 2hrs after check in time but considering it was midterm and they were super busy with families and we were given a drink while waiting. We will be back again for a 2 night stay in future.

The room wasn't available when checking in but it was ready within the hour everything else was fantastic.

Good Gluten Free options available for breakfast. Festive Christmas atmosphere and decor All staff very friendly and helpful.

Service in the restaurant was very bad. Food overpriced in restaurant too.

The room size was really big from what I was expecting. Bath facilities were spacious and clean. Room amenities were very good too, the wife actually complimented a hotel hair dryer for once. Also providing complimentary hot chocolate in the room along with tea and coffee always stands out for me. Above all, the staff were fantastic from check in to the cleaners everyone was very friendly, especially the staff at breakfast (Magda and Elaine) made life very easy for us with our little one, even washed the baby utensils we were using. Also the on site gym and pool is fantastic. It is a proper health club and not just an after thought like most hotel gyms. Would stay again and definitely recommend for young families.

My only down point and this is nit picking is the buffet breakfast gets a little repetitive after 5 nights, however I still enjoyed my potato bread every morning.

Beautiful hotel, very modern bar and restaurant and lobby. All staff we encountered were so friendly and kind.

Not very central to the inner city of Belfast. I knew it wasn’t city centre but not the easiest to get to, as every taxi driver we got told us. To get to town it is £12 in a taxi/Uber and about 50-60 in a bus. the pool area quite dated and not as big as I thought. No sitting area around pool and the sauna and steam room were small and full so couldn’t use. It’s not just for residents of hotel so can be very busy. You also have to book a time to go for swim which isn’t a problem. The showers also were not very clean but as we were leaving they were about to be cleaned so I think just an unfortunate isolated issue.

Such lovely staff, very clean rooms and such huge comfy beds. We let them know it was our daughter’s birthday & they filled the room with balloons and a tower of towels in the shape of a cake! ❤️❤️❤️ Fantastic breakfast, coffee and croissants were particularly delicious. Free juice from the bar was a big hit with our kids. We absolutely loved this hotel and will stay here again every time we return to Belfast.

Loved it all but would have preferred glass water bottles left in rooms instead of plastic.

Breakfast was chaotic - very busy, loud and hot Ordered Eggs Florentine from menu and couldnt eat it - spinach appeared to be the frozen balls which were just heated (slimy and inedible), poached eggs were over cooked; safer eating from buffet Due to high volumes of people at breakfast, things ran out very quickly. In fairness when I asked for something (eg fruit) to be replenished, it did happen, but staff didn’t appear to be monitoring it Trays/glasses etc left outside rooms for collection were not cleared in good time (eg a tray left out in afternoon still there when returning to room at night)

Decent sized clean family room. Nice to see refillable toiletries rather than those wasteful minis. Gym was well stocked. Breakfast was standard fare but good. Could probably do with more fresh fruit options.

The pool isn't monitored and as such we had a bad experience when about 15 young boys were rough housing in pool. The adults with them paid no attention as they jumped in off the edge and on top of each other. This made it dangerous for my own kids. A member of staff should be watching when big groups are in the pool.

I loved your cleaning crew. I lost my brush (idk how), they helped. I didnt have something they always helped and the funniest part was when i majority of them spoke Polish language which was nice. Reception was exquisite the best one so far.

To be honest just 3 things but I think 2 of those cannot be controlled by you. 1. Buisness lounge was constantly dirty, nobody was looking at this during the day but as I said people in there were more having more animalistic behaviour so it is hard to keep it tidy. 2. Probably booking error - On booking.com I could not choose breakfast for one probably my mistake. 3. WiFi and VPN tunnels do not like each other. As you give to VIPS the 'better' Wifi it does not support external VPNS so well. I was dropping connection and my line of work requires secure connection via tunnels. It was not bad but a bit frustrating as for the VIP wifi it is a bit funny.

We booked a junior suite so had more space and a sofa. Staying for a week without this space would have been a trial. The evening menu was a little limited but the food itself (both breakfast and evening) was extremely good. All staff (reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping) were approachable and helpful.

The bar staff were very busy so there were times when it was difficult to attract their attention for service but this is the only thing I can think of "for improvement".
