Plas Yn Dre

We had everything we could have possibly needed and more! The staff were very friendly and made us and our dog (greyhound) very welcome. The bed was super comfy. There was plenty of breakfast choices and food was delicious. The meals we had in the evening were beautiful too. We particularly liked the little touches to the room such as the car parking space with our name on it, which made it less of a stress as we knew where we needed to park and the little bottle of wine in the room. We were lucky with the weather and one night it was warm, there was a fan in the room which made it nice and cool for a good night's sleep. The hotel was in a lovely little town good location on the main street. We had the windows open each night and it was quiet at night. The front door was locked of a night but was easily opened with the room key card, made it nice and easy for emptying our dog in the early hours and late at night if needed but the place felt secure. We would definitely come back again and stay here to explore Wales more. We had such a lovely time. It was our first ever holiday with our doggo as we had recently rescued her and having a good place to stay made it much more enjoyable for all of us. You definitely got the feeling like the owners and staff knew what makes a good place to stay.

allocated car parking large double bed in clean room with lots of power points, tea and coffee provided and a complimentary bottle of wine. electric fans and hairdryer in room. ensuite with walk in shower, plenty hot water and towels were good size and quality. quality furniture, hanging wardrobe and dressing table suitably quality furniture tastefully decorated information booklet

duvet too heavy for hot weather, would have liked cotton sheets too. nylon or rubber mattress protector led to “sticky” nights sleep. Single glazed window, road noise as at front of building. toilet roll holder in awkward position . no tumbler in bathroom for toothbrush/rinsing

Arriving in the car park - my name was on the parking space which was a very nice touch, the welcome within the hotel was outstanding, the room and ensuite were a very good size, the bed was very comfortable, facilities in room excellent, evening meal was superb, location was excellent too with shops and restaurants etc very near, ability to select breakfast items the night before was a very good idea

Breakfast had a few things that could have been improved (sorry), only lumps of sugar - so if someone wanted loose sugar on cereal then had to ask. I ordered fresh fruit, granola and yoghurt with a mind to put them together - but loads of fresh fruit and granola - so too filling. Toast came up front as did Tea so by the time I'd finished my cooked breakfast and on to my toast and marmalade they'd gone a bit cool

The service from the staff was superb from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. The food in the restaurant was also very good. As we had a swim event the following morning, a member of staff organised with the chef to serve us breakfast a little earlier than the norm, which we were really grateful for. The room was comfortable, the mattress on the bed was perfect and I slept well. The complementary red wine and plentiful hot drinks in the room were also a lovely touch that you wouldn't find anywhere else.

Sadly, the cleanliness wasn't great in the room. Cobwebs in the window; dirty mugs; a used sanitary towel in the toilet bin; stained bath towels and toothpaste splashes on the bathroom mirror (photos provided to confirm).

Beautiful historic building, lots of character. Clean and fresh. Food is delightful, the Sunday roast dinner and breakfasts are juat gorgeous, as is the Pizza! An extra touch of a welcome wine in the room that was replenished the next day! Location is perfect right in the high Street and only a 10min walk to the lake. Private parking at accommodation with your name! All of the staff where incredible, welcoming and friendly. Lee was so helpful and friendly, he made us feel very special. Don't hesitate to book this place, it's perfect x

On arrival there was a reserved parking space, the checking in process was easy, the room was spacious and well presented, warm too and the bed was comfortable, well stocked tea tray also. All staff were friendly especially the breakfast assistant and the breakfast was tasty, plentiful and enjoyable. Good choices too. The location is on a high street but there was minimal traffic noise and the town of Bala and surrounding countryside were lovely. I`m glad that we found this property and would stay again.

I`m nit picking as no problems encountered - if I have to say something - slightly more attention to bathroom cleaning and maybe a few more dishes on the evening menu ,otherwise a perfect stay :)

comfortable and cozy. great staff, friendly, helpful and very attentive. they were also local people and were very happy to share knowledge of where to go and what to see. great food and breakfast. a la carte and pub menu. chicken wellington fab. liked breakfast idea of ticking what you want and crossing out what you don’t to save food waste and extra cost, E.g. tick full Welsh breakfast but cross out tomato and black pudding. good tea and coffee making facilities. good location for seeing attractions. great with dogs and very welcoming to ours. dogs allowed everywhere which was great for us. cleanliness in room good and in the bar and restaurant but the public toilets on the first floor could do with a good scrub. dust behind toilets been there for a long while. loved it here would highly recommend and would definitely return. thank you.

Great location, lovely accommodation, excellent food and choice, breakfast menu was extensive and great quality. Great they allowed dogs. Room was big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Very clean and cosy.

Small mishap with ordering dinner - asked for adult portion for our child and told they don't do it- but next table ordered exactly that so asked why they didn't let us order it, they first told us they had run out - however came back to tell us we could order a large portion but charge us double, which would have been fine from the beginning. Wasn't the friendliest in handling the situation but they did rectify it so no problem in the end.

Based on the reviews for the area, this was the logical choice for our stay and we weren't disappointed. Great food and friendly staff. The location was perfect. I can only describe Plas yn Dre as the hub of the town as it was very popular with tourists passing through. There are outside covered areas, there is a bar room and a separate restaurant area.

The bed was a little firm for me, but my partner was fine with it.

The hotel was the most dog friendly place we have been too. They were allowed all over the hotel and made to feel welcome. The meals were served up very professionally and tasty with it, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

just a little cold around the building, they like all the doors open which is fine in height of summer, luckily I had packed warm jumpers. The top of the building was completely different very warm we had top floor room so we were ok once we retired to our bedroom which I might add was very roomy with an extra large bed, very modern bathroom with everything you needed.
