The Boathouse

Great location, easy to find and plenty of parking. Our room was very comfortable with nice decor and great sea views. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Really good breakfast included in the price, lots of choice and just delicious. Great service too. Nice little extra touch with fresh water in the room each day and fresh milk provided on request for tea/coffee in the room. We had our evening meals at the pub too as the food was so good and there was plenty of choice. Some of the best food we have had in a long time.

no negatives but maybe a few extra teabags / sugar etc = although when we asked, it wasnt a problem for them to provide. shower wasn’t the best - it did the job but could have been a bit more powerful, not sure that there is much can be done as its an older property and I guess older plumbing.

Location is great as it is a few steps to a lovely promenade walk which leads all the way into Ryde past the park with lovely sea views all the way. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The room was nicely furnished and the bed comfortable. The cooked breakfast was excellent, best I have had with plenty of interesting choices. I didn’t eat lunch or dinner as I was spending my time with family who live on the island but the menu is certainly very tempting.

A few minor repairs would help in the decor of the room and bathroom.

The room was very comfortable & the classical music playing set the back drop to the coastal view on entering the room. The room was very clean, though we felt the bathroom needed a few basic improvements ie Re grout along the bath edge & bathroom floor, replacement blackout paper on the bathroom window, all simple steps to help retain the properties standard throughout these off season months. I requested a heater which was supplied & appreciated as previous reviews stated the rooms were cold. The radiators were on a good constant temperature, although the windows original so single glazed. Lovely dining area for breakfast with a nice ambience. Nice Low background music was appreciated. Good quality crockery & cutlery. Thank you all for your hospitality.

FYI- Bed comfort- Requires turning or perhaps a thicker quality mattress protector to be used if it’s not yet time to be replaced.

The staff were friendly & more than helpful, location amazing, bar/restaurant area was clean, contemporary & welcoming, breakfast had the WOW factor - so much choice, quality produce, very generous portions, cooked to perfection & well presented. Evening meals were of good quality too. Rooms were clean with crisp nautical themed decor which was appropriate for ‘The Boat House’.

The exterior of the property would benefit from a little TLC. We realise it’s seafront & up against the elements but clearing the cobwebs in the windows (which were more noticeable from inside your room) & a sweeping down of the brickwork would make the world of difference.

amazing view from our bed, room was really lovely and at a really good price including breakfast. It was in a lovely location not too far from anything, we did stay and have dinner downstairs as we were too tired to travel and I’m glad we did it was lovely. The breakfast was really impressive, lots of food at the buffet and my boyfriend said the breakfast was the best he’s ever had. Special mention to the lady who served us at breakfast she was brilliant

Only issue was the room was very hot but there was a fan so this wasn’t too much of a problem

The room was exceptionally clean and well furnished. It had a good bathroom and a lovely view directly over the sea. You could fall asleep to the sound of the sea. Breakfast was exceptional and the staff were friendly. Good location for the beach and for walks. Handy for the ferry at Fishbourne and as a base for exploring the island. Seaview is a quiet and laid back place. Would revisit.

We felt the food in the pub restaurant was a bit overpriced. Ate there several times and although the food quality is good with the option of smaller portions, both times the service slow and we just felt that the service did not quite match the price tag of the food.

Our seaview room was fabulous..we even had a view from the shower! The staff were all helpful and lovely..they looked after us well Super breakfast..in fact all the food was great The location was perfect for us...lovely walks along a flat promenade to Ryde..several parks close by..and ofcourse access to the beach across the road..everything you want from an Island stay

Hard to find anything we didnt like Personally I would have liked black out blinds or thicker curtains

Breakfasts were delicious and good variety Dinner was delicious with good food portions Service was friendly, efficient and exceptional Room was well furnished, with ample storage space and quite spacious Wonderful Sea View

Room was lovely, but found the set room temperature was a little too hot. Would have been nicer if we had been able to open the windows to get some fresh sea breeze There was a plumbing issue (bad smell) in the toilet/bathroom, but we were told that this had already been noted, and that a plumber was already booked to fix the issue in the following week

Great staff, beautiful food & good location- room was very comfortable & nicely decorated

Just a few housekeeping issues such as large cobwebs on the bedroom windows. The doors to the bathroom & pub toilets needed a good clean as lots of built up dirt & fingerprints on them & some skirting boards in the bathroom was very dusty but I assume cleaners have limited time to clean everything.

Warm welcome. The room had a large en-suite bathroom which was clean and warm.
