Room was very nice. Maybe a little small. Window opened fully and fan also provided. Bathroom nicely refurbished with large shower cubicle with both rainfall and standard shower. Good storage in cupboard. Food really very good: both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant adjoined the bar so there was good ambience. Hotel suitable for couples, families and business travellers. All groups were there. Staff very friendly too. Lovely stay. Thank you.

Bed a little hard, but that is just personal preference. Floorboards very creaky and noise in hallway could be loud if people were noisy when walking past, but it can’t be helped as it’s an old property.

I nice, recently refurbished hotel, in a quiet, pretty village near the A17. It has with a good bar area and restaurant The service from everyone was great. The breakfast choices and quality of food was very good. The quality and temperature of the beer (Timothy Taylors) was excellent

We stayed in room3 on our first night, and found it a little small and cramped and the bed very hard and uncomfortable. I mentioned this to see if it could be re-arranged for our return night's stay, and we were put into room 7 (a double and a single). This mattress was much more comfortable. The only thig we didn't particularly like was a rather strange picture of a chimpanzee sitting on a box reading a paper - very disconcerting and slightly offensive to those who care about respect for wild life. The curtains in both rooms were quite thin, which mean we were woken up by the daylight

we’ve stayed here before so it was an easy choice, we actually stayed in the same room which was nice as it was on the ground floor. The staff were very professional and it is a lovely country pub situated not far for Sleaford, the menu has a good selection and the sausages and mash are highly recommended.

we arrived on a Sat and the reception desk has a sign saying check in at the bar which is understandable, however I was surprised to see the reception desk remain unmanned the whole stay until Monday morning. The little courtyard outside is very nice but does house a cooling fan which I presume is for the cellar that does make some noise, if you’re a light sleeper it may not be ideal to have a room adjacent to this area.

Nice location, great food

When we arrived it was 8pm at night the staff who was great helped carry our cases upstairs to our room when we walked in thought we was walking into a ice hotel.there was no heating in the room or toilet we got changed quickly and went down to the bar and spoke to the staff.we orded our meal and whilst we had our meal she returned back to say she had spoken to the landlord and he said he would turn up the heating and put a oil filled radiator in the room.the meal was great 👍🏻 and when we went back up the room which now was nice and warm thank you staff. Just a thought if you know there is customers booked into that room and the temperature is below zero would it be a good idea to put the heating on in that room?

The breakfast was well cooked with lots of choice and served promptly and pleasantly. The village is close to the elderly relatives we were visiting so worked well, the downstairs room was perfect as my husband has mobility issues, it was a lovely modern room with all the facilities we require.

Unfortunately we had to walk round the building to get to breakfast, as I said, my husband has mobility issues and that proved difficult for him, but that was the only negative and it wasn't impossible just difficult

The staff were all very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a good choice of hot breakfast and a selection of cereal, bread, pastries etc Dinner could be taken in the bar or restaurant and was wonderfully cooked, the menu catered for a variety of tastes/budgets and it tasted great Rooms were spotless and very comfortable. I had a wet room which was perfect.

The access to the pub/restaurant has a slope which made it tricky to access with a wheelchair however every time I wanted to go in, there was a member of staff at the door ready to help if required so it really didn't impact on my stay at all.

clean, and beautifully decorated room, restaurant was great, and the breakfast was lovely, the lady made every effort to make sure everyone had everything they needed

there wasn’t anyone on the front desk when we arrived or when we checked out, we left our keys on the desk, also returned later that day to collect a pillow we forgot which was behind the desk, no one was around. We had assumed payment was made with the credit card we used to book but I had a voicemail and emails asking me to call to pay as we hadn’t paid, so that was a bit embarrassing. i rang to pay the next day, but I think they need to make sure they are getting payments when people check out otherwise they could lose money which would be a shame for such a lovely place

Family met us on our first night there for a meal in the restaurant. Fabulous food and service. Our room was lovely, we had the deluxe suite. Was quiet even though we were at the front of the hotel. My dad had a small fall whilst we were there. Nothing to do with the hotel, just old age, but the colleague was fantastic holding our rooms in case we needed to stay another night following a visit to hospital. Dad was OK and able to travel so we went home. We will definitely stay again

Dad is 89 and struggled with the stairs at the front of the hotel by the bar so we used the ones at the back by reception which has 2 hand rails. But you have to go outside then to get to the bar/restaurant. We were lucky with the weather so no issues. It's difficult to put lifts into beautiful old buildings and it didn't detract from our stay. The only thing I would suggest as a possible help would be phones in the rooms. Just so we could ring dad in the morning and he could ring us if he was in trouble. He can't use a mobile anymore. But I know that when we stay next time I can ask for rooms next door etc.

The evening meals were delicious, well cooked and well presented , as were all the breakfasts. Plenty of nice choices on both the dinner and breakfast menus . Lovely very spacious room and bathroom, clean and with all the extras like tea, coffee and nice toiletries .

It was a bit of a struggle to go into the main front door with luggage to then be taken by a member of staff working in the bar area to the more secure reception building to check in. Maybe more signage in the car park to inform people to go to the main front door first as it is easy to miss the reception signs on that building , especially if no-one is on duty there and the doors are closed. That may be a staffing issue in these strange times, but perhaps can be rectified in the future to have someone on duty in the main hotel reception.

Love love love this place. Our go to stay now when visiting family locally. Big shout out to Millie and Bronwen. Only our 2nd visit but both of them remembered us. Millie even joked "same table" when we went down for dinner. Can highly recommend the fish and chips, but everything is really tasty and great value. Would say it gives the hotel we work at in The Lakes a good run for its shoes, at more than half the price. Keep it up guys and gals/ladies, we will be back soon to see you again. We're going to work our way around all the rooms. 1 & 3 down 😂
