Moxy Slough

The excellence of this hotel was a total surprise. We had booked it for our last two nights (of 40) in England before flying home to San Francisco, and we chose it mainly for its low cost (about 100 pounds per night) and its location next to the train station to London Paddington station. We spent a day in London and the Moxy's location was perfect for that. It is also close to Windsor Castle and the Harry Potter studio tour. And, wonder of wonders in England, which is a nightmare of high-priced parking, the hotel parking was free! As to the hotel itself, first, the room was larger than the typical English hotel room, which had barely enough room for our two suitcases. We were amazed at the under-the-bed night lights which are motion-activated, so we didn't have to leave the bathroom light on. The hot water was quick, the sink was not the micro-mini type we had in several hotels, the shower was modern, and the lights by the bed were bright enough to read by, a rarity in English hotels. Finally, there was a small gym, another rarity. The staff were very welcoming and check-in was a breeze. Check-out time was noon, which we were very grateful for since our flight was not till 5:30 pm and there is nothing to do in the immediate neighborhood of Slough to while away a few hours.

We had no real complaint. We didn't eat in the hotel, since we had leftover food that we needed to eat, but the rooftop restaurant looked very nice. Some people might complain about the neighborhood, which is undergoing urban renewal, but it felt safe, and nobody broke into our car which was parked there for almost two days.

The hotel was spotless, beds super comfy. Situated close to Eton college. Staff super friendly. Very dog friendly.

Food service was very poor. We were a group of 11 and decided to dine in the restaurant of the hotel. Food didn't come out together, each meal had something missing or incorrect. 1 meal never came at all. We had a 5 year old and a 10year old in our party. The 5 yo fell asleep before her meal arrived nearly an hour late. We complained several times to the waitress and also to a lady who we believe was a supervisor. In the end we left the restaurant without paying for the food and ordered a McDonalds for the 10year old. Such a shame as rest of hotel experience was great. Spoke to a supervisor on leaving today who listened to our concerns and apologised etc. The lead guest in our party will be contacted in the next few days

The Moxy was extremely clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out. The bar staff at night were very nice and helped whenever they could. The lounge area was full of games and offered a lovely way to spend the evening after a long day. The room that we stayed in was very comfortable and continued to feel like a home away from home over the course of my stay. The Moxy will definitely be my choice of hotel again for next year's Comic Con!

I don't think there is anything I can say I disliked about my stay!

it was originally designed. some quirky decor items. had a very practical, homey almost « Friends » the Tv séries vibe about it. the room was ergonomic and clean with fantastic lighting. the staff were all very very friendly and the lobby and reception is basically a bar! the food and drink is good too

I saw a pizza come out for another guest but didn’t taste one. being a big fan of pizza and a pizza baker myself I would not order a pizza from here as they don’t have the kitchen facilities to cook pizzas in an optimal way. the hot food is regenerated using a Merrychef which is a fantastic piece of kit for high volume fast output service. my daughter had a kids mac and cheese which was on point and well executed.

Moxy Slough was an excellent hotel. Staff were super friendly. This is an excellent place to stay if you are going to Legoland. There is a bus from just outside the hotel, or if you are driving it's in and around 10 minutes from hotel to to.legoland. Chessington is also less than 30 minutes away You can get the Elizabeth line train/ tube direct to centre of London from Slough Station, which is located about 5 minutes away from the hotel. There is table tennis, table football and board games in the hotel bar

Lobby, bar, breakfast, room decor. Very pretty! Complementary drinks which you can use at any point. Free parking - lovely ! Daytime staff were all very friendly and helpful esp the young lady who checked us out and gave us out complimentary drinks. Thank you. We would stay again but we would make sure we are in a higher floor room.

Gentleman at desk was not very helpful or friendly when we arrived at 0300. Bathroom very small, sink flows over easily. Third room floor on main road - heard traffic noise. Room carpet could have been cleaner...

The hotel was indeed very close to the station, we could even see it from our room. When we arrived the staff was very helpful with any questions I had regarding transport. The room was very nice and clean, it exceeded expectations! Tip: the Elizabeth Line takes about 35 minutes but the GWR takes less than 15 minutes

The only downside is that there was no closet. There was a rack with hangers hand a place to store our luggage. We only stayed 3 nights so it was no big deal. The hotel was also in Slough which is quite a bit from central London, if you plan to stay out late it will be difficult to get back by train/tube.

Good value stay, only 20 minutes from Paddington on the fast train service. The bar area is very cool and we had a decent breakfast. The 9th floor restaurant has very good food at a reasonable price as well.

I was unable to gain access to my room twice and had to go to reception to get my card reset. Was also charged twice for breakfast, so have had to raise a separate request to try and get that refunded. Moxy does not appear to use emails either, could not find an email address on their site.

Another fabulous welcome at Moxy. The team is amazing, some staff went above and beyond to engage with my son and tolerated his hyperactivity really well! The layout and design of the place is super cool. The little details are brilliant! We had loads of fun with all the games and puzzles, too. The rooms are always comfy and clean. Although there was one suspect hair in the shower tray, not a major deal, it happens. Breakfast selection is fantastic. Food off the menu is also excellent, I really wanted to try more during our stay but there's only so much food you should eat! Location is brilliant, close to shops and the train station.

One of our bedside lights was out but wasn't a big deal.

The hotel is placed in a very busy neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants in a walking distance, also supermarkets opened till late at night. Interesting design of the bar, very kind staff, the hotel bar can serve drinks and food quickly. Public transportation close to the hotel, train station at 5' walking distance, 25' car drive from Heathrow airport. We loved the magnetic letters at the bar, very good idea for kids!

The neighborhood not nice, garbage everywhere, small parc nearby very dirty. Very soft matress, not good for back problems, low quality of pillows.
