The Windsor Trooper Pub & Inn

I stayed here overnight for 2 nights and then had a 9:30am flight from Terminal 2. Using the local trains with 2 changes I was at the terminal just 1 hour after checking out of my room. The room was very clean.

Great room and location

The room was Very hot, as it is at the top of the building I had the fan on full blast and the window open and was so hot I still struggled to sleep. Maybe these top rooms could have air con installed to make them more comfortable in the summer. Also the front door did not self close, so when I arrived back late the door was wide open, this made me uncomfortable as when I was in my room I didn’t know if others were going to leave the door open and allow access to anyone from the street. Maybe the door could have a weighted close on it to ensure it shuts.

Enjoyed the food very much, provided by a couple of local businesses over our two night stay. Well located for the tourist attractions, all within short walking distance. Busy/friendly pub with a well managed outside area which was closed at 10pm so noise ceased allowing overnight guests a restful evening/night. We were very impressed with the staff we came into contact with, extremely friendly and helpful with advice regarding parking and anything we needed.

We were very happy with everything and have no negative comments to make.

Short stay in order to collect daughter from Heathrow early next day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was very good for short walk into the centre of Windsor. We were in an area with lots of reasonable to good eating places and bars as well as the Trooper itself. They don't have a restaurant although various food vans provide food on the premises, Pizza when we arrived, Coffee van next morning. There is a good outdoor area which was very busy but everyone vacates the garden at 10pm so noise was kept to a minimum.

Needed to park a little distance away. Fully understand need for Garden area and could see how customers benefit from this. Car park outside would not have been as pleasant, so not a problem to walk to car with small case.

The room was very spacious and clean. I really loved having a big bed! It was just me and I was able to sleep sideways. The ensuite was clean, the room was clean. Can't complain. There was also a lovely coffee truck right outside :) delicious coffee. Highly recommend it.

It could have used a fridge or serve breakfast, but it's totally fine. The coffee truck outside saved my life. Also, the wifi in the room could have been stronger. It made it difficult to work remotely as the connection was a bit weak. I used my personal hot spot instead.

I stayed at the Windsor Trooper with my son when taking him to Legoland, it was perfect for us with the village close by and plenty happening at the pub itself. We had a lovely little room upstairs which was clean comfortable and safe (A key factor when I’m a single parent). I loved the fact that they had different chefs/cooks using the kitchen and arrangements for a coffee van parked by the side of the building in the morning, something that I made use of before my long days spent running around after a very excitable child.

This room above a pub, was exceptional, it really exceeded all our expectations as a family. We booked 2 twin rooms as we were travelling, Grandmother, Mother and 2 teenagers. The rooms were bigger than expected, we had our own entrance, ensuite shower room. We really enjoyed our stay for 1 night but, could have stayed longer, it was so comfortable. Local restaurants were within walking distance.

Only thing I can comment on, would be to have more tea/coffee, sugar and milk, as it was a cold day/evening and 2 cups of tea would have gone down well, then for coffee in the morning. But, this is really nitpicking, we even recommended The Windsor Trooper to our taxi driver back in London.

Very welcoming manager,respectful of my age.always ready to help . Well situated to view the town ,and shops. Lively pub the noise shuts down by 11pm nice to hear happy people would definitely stay again.. 150yrs old and still giving good service.

Not able to have a breakfast without going out., wonderful van though supplying coffee and continental pastries fine when weather is dry.. plenty of cafes short walk along the road. Parking can be a problem.but plenty of side roads near.

The location was fab just a walk up the road and Windsor castle was in full view the staff was fabulous we had the beer garden outside our room but it shut at 10 not that we were bothered we were having a drink anyway the room was lovely and clean fresh towels each day nice and warm but there was a fan on hand if we needed it I would definitely stay here again I would highly recommend fabulous place and fabulous staff

Just one thing the pillows on the bed are rock hard I had to use the cushions to sleep on

Stayed here when I was attending my investiture. The location was perfect. It's just a 10 minute walk away. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Staff were so very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble.

The only problem wete the people staying above us. They woke us up at 1am it went quiet at 2.30 am, then woke us up again at 5.30am. We could hear everything they were doing, from walking across the floor to using the toilet. This did not put us off from returning in the future
