I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of granola, Greek yoghurt drizzled with honey & strawberries followed by two poached eggs on a slice of lovely bread on both mornings which tasted superb & were nicely presented. The shower was a choice of a Rain shower Or handheld whichever was your preferred choice with plenty of hot water. There were French doors which opened onto a decked private balcony overlooking the view beyond & which I left open during the night as it was warm during my stay here. Lovely white bath sheets & bath mat. I had a wonderful firm mattress & two comfy pillows to sleep on. A reasonable wardrobe/drawer unit with deep drawers & two bedside chests which were very adequate for my stay. There was plenty of light coming into the room which made it appear spacious. Bottled water together with a glass were provided on each bedside chest for guests. Plug sockets were positioned above the console table for the kettle & my curling tongs.

The furnishings were a little tired for my choice. The flooring had been badly fitted with frayed edges along the skirting boards. The curtains were dark brown & looked & felt like faux suede. Not ideal as it is a coastal location. It didn`t give a holiday vibe to me. The yellow cushions on the bed were a bit flat instead of being full & plump. The black bedside lamps & lampshades didn`t give out much light. Take your own shower gel as only shampoo & conditioner were provided. Luckily I had taken my own.

Very clean, great facilities. Excellent chef. The staff made me feel welcme. The Sail loft is halfway along the road to the boat ferry, (a rowing boat that takes you over to Walberswick andca circularcwalk. On one side is an SSS1 and the other is the beach beyond the dunes. This is an excellent place for nature lovers.

The staff don't arrve until 9.30 in the mornungs(may this changes as the season gets busier). I used the waiting time for an early morning walk. Breakfast worth the wait. It was cold when I visited so had no inclination to sit outside where there is lots of outdoor seating and a lovely view of the River Blyth area.

Breakfast was unique. You won't get the traditional English breakfast but what they do offer is lovely. You could have a wrap or a doorstep sandwich. I had a wrap with sausage, bacon and cheese. My husband had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast. It was a huge portion. Wi-fi was good and the TV offered loads of channels. The room was warm enough. It is about a 15 minute walk to get to the centre of Southwold. Perfectly placed for the beach. They do good evening meals as well. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were a bit thin and the duvet had seen better days. They offer a good selection of teas, hot chocolate and coffee on the hospitality tray.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet and as described. The view was peaceful and tranquil. The bedding was clean and crisp. The pillows and duvet were excellent quality. We had a very good night's sleep and a wonderful break which was just what we needed. We would stay again. Thank you to the staff.

I would have like clean towels on the second day as we stayed for 2 nights and would have liked the tea, coffee sachets replenished in our room after the first day. Water was supplied on the first day but not replaced on the second day. The evening meal was OK. Standard pub fayre really. The breakfast, however, was included and very good and the chef accommodated us when we asked for items not on the menu. Very nice staff.

literally across the road from the beach and there are reed beds and fields behind. it wasn’t noisy at the time of year we were there but peaceful enough to hear the geese and we saw deer in the fields. there’s a free car park right outside. breakfast was good if a little late in the day, 9.30-11, so we walked on the beach before breakfast which was great! it was handy having a restaurant downstairs. our choice of many of the exciting things on the menu was limited because of problems digesting onion and garlic, but the waitresses were helpful and care was taken about what we could eat. what we had was very good!

the French doors to the patio didn’t lock and it wasn’t fixed during our stay. the doors open on to a first floor roof area so not overly worrying, but when you want to leave valuable cameras and stuff in the room it would be nice to know it’s secure.

Comfy beds, great location just by the sea and good hearty breakfast. The staff were really friendly too. They were really kind in letting us keep our luggage in the backroom for the day too.

The room was quite noisy, you could hear people in the restaurant below and from the room to the side very easily. We also booked a twin and I had emailed to confirm but it was made up as a double. That said the lady checking us in, quickly rectified this but said she never received the request for a twin.

The location is great - opposite the beach. There was room in the car park just about. Breakfast food was very good. The hotel is not very far from the town centre, but at the edge of the town. Excellent shower, towels, toiletries, bed & tea/coeffe.

Breakfast is between 9.30-11am. This was a bit late for us. The car park is full at peak times like lunch in the summer holidays, but there is a big public car park next door, though this can be full too.

Young lady at breakfast who seemed to work 25 hours a day with very good humour throughout. I stupidly unknowingly left some things in the room on checking out. They were extremely prompt at calling me to say they'd found them. Most appreciated! Thank you! The coffee.

The room was very warm, (cooled once we had got in and opened the windows for a while) and the outlook over the kitchen vents not very pretty! Both the door locks to get into the room were very tricky - there is something wrong with them. I was about to call the police to get a hotel contact when my husband managed to open the room door after about 20 minute thinking we would have to go back to my daughter's accommodation on the other side of Southwold and camp on the sofas. Would have liked some staff on the premises when we got back about 11 on the Monday and had trouble with the keys, but I can see there is an early start for them.

The room was spacious, light and airy. It was well appointed with everything we needed. One thing particularly to note was that towels were changed daily. The room we had had an outdoor terrace and it was nice in the evening to sit out in the peaceful surroundings. All the food we had was both delicious and of generous proportions. All the hot food was served piping hot and obviously freshly cooked. Some reviews have spoken about breakfast starting at 9.30 as being late. But for us it was an ideal time to get ourselves ready for the day before eating. Staff were all very friendly and happy to help with anything we wanted. They all seemed to work extremely hard.

One area that needed some attention were the outside spaces. Our terrace for example could have done with a coat of paint. The outdoor dining areas were not particularly welcoming - although there was work being done to improve the planters

The room was great and overlooked the beach/sea. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast included was delicious, although the portions were quite big (not always a problem! :P )

Having a bath in the room with a shower head was fine but awkward to use. You couldn't share this room with friends only. The vegetarian burger ordered for the evening meal came out cold and when a replacement was brought out whilst it was mostly hot the center of the halloumi was still cold. The waitress was also shouted at by the kitchen staff and returned noticeably upset. My husband really enjoyed his meal, but it was let down a bit by my experience. We understood that on the day the restaurant was short staffed hence the short fuse in the kitchen unfortunately. Overall I would recommend this place!
