Woodlands Hotel

The breakfast was very tasty. The times were 7-9 which was good. There weren't any evening meals except for regular guests, but, the manager supplied takeaway menus and, made the phone call and then went and collected it. The fact they offered to phone for a takeaway in the evening was refreshing. The cost of the takeaway was added to the bill, and a table was set up in the bar for us to eat.

There were no evening meals catered for. Only regular guests that stay Mon to Fri were catered for.

Facilities in the room were good. Iron, Hairdryer and toiletries all provided. Plenty of power outlets. Curtains kept early morning light out, even in midsummer. Great location with only 10 minute walk into Town but sufficiently off the high Street to have minimal road and street noise even on ground floor

Plumbing needs updating. Toilet didn't flush well. Tried small button and large button and neither worked well. Had to use both together but still not satisfactory. Soundproofing could be better. Heard a lot of noise from room above at around 6am on Sunday morning.

The room was clean and warm. Facilities, TV, hot water, tea-making facilities all good. As widely reported the Covid pandemic has affected the hospitality industry, which is why, I imagine, that the opportunity for an evening meal was not available to me. It was commendable that staff offered to arrange for a meal, of whichever cuisine I fancied, to be delivered to the hotel on my behalf.

I would like to have known that the evening meal facility was not available at the time of booking or even on the hotel website. Earlier alternative arrangements for an evening meal could have been made beforehand

A tidy clean room AND hot water for relaxing bath, plus a most comfortable bed. Breakfast: cereal, fruit, yoghurt plus full English , spot on. walking distance to town. Staff very pleasant and friendly. would recommend. Cannot fault for 3*

The corridors need a spruce with new carpets and a lick of paint on walls. But think they are in the process of re-decorating them.

We have stayed numerous times at the Woodland Hotel and the reason why is because it is a beautiful place to stay.. The staff are warm, welcoming and provide an excellent service , the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and environment relaxing. The breakfasts prepare you for the day , really tasty . We feel it is value for money and we will be booking again soon !

There was nothing that we didn't like about our stay at Woodland hotel., for us it is the ideal location near to the local amenities and just a beautiful place to stay .

I feel that from the moment you check in the staff cannot do enough for you; they are all welcoming and friendly and this helps in providing a relaxed environment. I like the bedroom ,the bed is comfortable and the facilities in the room are great. The breakfast provided sets you up for the day! I feel that it is a great place to stay and excellent value.

All I can say is that I have used the Woodlands hotel regularly over the years and I feel that it could do with decorating . I noted in the dining area there was a place where the wallpaper was coming away from the wall and the radiator needed painting. However , I do not feel that this detracts from the service that The Woodlands hotel provides.

Bedroom was very clean and bed exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast excellent served by friendly helpful staff. We attended a function put on by hotel which was excellent in The food and service

The room was large and a nice bed, staff were friendly and helpful, good outside smoking area

The tea and coffee facilities are not great, kettle took a long time to boil and only one coffee sachet (two decaf too) even though there were two of us, little milk pots were gone off which didn’t help

Woodlands Hotel was a bit tired and dated . However it was clean and had every thing we needed. Breakfast was good.

The bed and pillows were hard. So our sleep was not perfect . The first night we didn't sleep well. The second night was a bit better.

The staff went above and beyond, when we arrived about at about 8 o'clock they not only gave us take away menus they not only called up for us, but they actually went a got the take away. They couldn't have been more helpful. In general the staff were friendly responsive and polite. Great customer service
