Room excellent; breakfast better than anticipated-good for anyone; facilities really good; grandkids enjoyed swimming pool; fine grounds; ample parking though spaces narrow; located off main road and quiet; quick travel time into Thame and quick access to/from M40. N.B. Beware if your GPS wants to lead you to Oxford Belfy via "Sandy Lane" - this is v.v.v narrow lane with tall hedgerows and few passing places

Hotel overcharges by £50 as a "HOLDING DEPOSIT". This is not advised on booking.com and NOT advised by hotel staff at check-in. Only as we left were we told about this extra DEBIT. Really POOR procedure. Also booking.com says "payable at hotel"; this is not so; hotel automatically debits room fee + EXTRA £50 on or before arrival. So, where we expected to pay on check-out by entering card and pin to authorise, hotel has ALREADY pre-authorised the amounts!!!!!!! This is not courteous hotelier practice. Also some strange guests/residents

The rooms are very spacious, I booked a double deluxe, with walk in shower. Lots of space to hang things, cupboards to place your clothes, lots of power points and charging jacks. Extra cupboards to store other items and lots of mirrors. We unexpectedly and at very short notice (that morning) had to extend our stay and was able to rebook this very promptly and in the same room. We had a one day break in our stay (because it was extended) and we were able to leave the vast amount of our luggage with them whilst we were away for the day and night, and returned to the same room the next night. Very helpful and very accommodating staff. We did have a slight issue with one of our meals one night. Basically I had ordered fish with gnocchi and edame beans. When the dish arrived it just had the beans, no gnocchi. It would have been quite difficult to eat that amount of beans without a slightly upset stomach, so I raised it with the serving lady. At my suggestion, she took my plate away and came back literally 2 minutes later with just the fish and a serving of slim chips (which were delicious - we were addicted to them by the end of our stay !) My husband had waited for me and we were able to eat our meal together. Shortly after a more senior member of staff came to our table to apologise and took the dish off our bill and offered us a free dessert each. We were very grateful. This is the service we experienced throughout our stay (we were there a total of 9 days ). The staff are excellent, from the lady bringing and clearing plates from the table to the deputy manager, they can all promptly act if there is any problem or need rather than passing it down line to management. Very friendly and approachable. On our second trip back, the chap on reception volunteered and actually took our very heavy luggage back to our room, as my husband has trouble with his knees. They also provided a daily supply of small bottles of mineral water each, which was very much appreciated.

Not the fault of the hotel, but there were some issues with very noisy guests. When there was an issue, the hotel staff managed it and resolved the problem, promptly and fully. They really cared that we had a good stay. I have been to other hostels where any issues with noise is ignored and you basically have to resolve it yourself, not easy. We did get a very good night sleep for the duration of our stay.

All staff were very polite. Hotel clean and welcoming. Cookies nice touch. Bed very large 🙂 Curtains blacked out the room well. Room service, Thai meal lovely and hot. Staff quick to remedy any issues....More towels, fix phone. Send room service menu.

Phone in bedroom didn't work. Could see old guests paperwork left in the drawers. Shower wets the floor too much (thicker bath mat needed?) Bar area carpet smelt. Cooked breakfast was differently cooked each day. Over or under cooked mushrooms, different sausages etc. Would of liked Granola option not flat Oats. Breakfast area very warm.

The staff were all friendly and helpful and made us welcome. There were lots of places to sit comfortably and a lot of them had complimentary drinks facilities. The room was clean and comfortable. A large car park was free to guests Good location for Thornhill park and ride into Oxford

The room window was faulty with a botched repair. The lockers at the spa required a £1 coin with no advance notifications so I had to go back to the room to get one. The first morning breakfast items were slightly overcooked though that improved throughout the stay.

Hotel is situated in a green location, has plenty of parking for cars and has a decent swimming pool and sauna. The room was automatically heated and comfortable, very spacious and had a separate area for making tea. The free warm cookies on arrival was nice and the waiters kindly provided water when required as there wasn’t any in the room.

The room was hard to sleep in initially as some people were loud in the corridor all day into the night so we had to call reception to tell them. Also, the response time to messages in the booking app is very unusually slow. The lobby area was standard and always very crowded. The pool was not that hot but once in can get used to it.

Lovely room, view of caravans was a little disappointing given the location but all in all a very nice room.

Checking in was a nightmare, I queued for 30 mins just to check in. Two staff members checking in a large party, all other guests were ignored whilst this long process was undertaken. With the party being booked into the wrong rooms the internal system had to be rebooted meaning none of the keys worked and we were not issued with one when we did finally manage to check in. This was not followed up and we ended up having to ask a cleaner for a key at reception as we had no other way of gaining access to our room. Hoping for an improvement on my next stay

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room. Good decor throughout hotel and spa. Good buffet breakfast. Peaceful room. Comfortable beds. Good bathroom and hot shower. Spa treatments were very nice and facilities good. Lovely gardens with plenty of outdoor seating.

No cups ever left by coffee machine in room next to reception. Steps into pool very slippery. Limited menu, the same every night. Hotel is described as being set in many acres, however walk around it was short and access limited.

The first thing you notice is it's immaculate everywhere, then the staff are so highly trained and all at the top of their game. The pool,spa & gym are one of the best five I've seen in a hotel and the food is simple but immaculately presented and very nutritious but breakfast was delicious and organised and there was so much choice. Beautiful pastries, rubarb juice and fabulous hot buffet. Really good value for money and iv changed my stop over point to here from Beaconsfield . Very close to the motorway for a break in your journey. I will use this hotel alot from now on. Awsome place. Loved it.

It was the Christmas holidays but no pool attendant. Towels left everywhere. Still immaculate though.

We had the queen room & it was spacious and so cosy the bed was comfortable the room was spotless

The only 2 issues I had was:- There wasn’t any ropes in our room and that when we went down to the pool you have to walk thru the reception area then past the bar area which made me uncomfortable because they had no ropes in the room so we only could cover or swimwear with a towel, all other hotels I’ve stayed in these are always there & when you need to go to the pool etc there’s usually a more private way for us to walk whilst in ropes/swimwear/towels etc

Room was excellent. absolutely huge bed. Very clean and had everything I needed

Went into breakfast at 9.10am and was greeted by a staff member who took his phone out of his pocket, looked at it pointedly and announced that breakfast finishes at 9.30 - good morning to you too!!! very rude. FYI I was out of the restaurant by 9.25am as I only wanted a coffee and some fruit anyway. The restaurant is not great but as the hotel is fairly remote there really isn't any other choice
