Shillingford Bridge Hotel

Breakfast was well cooked with gluten free toast and non-dairy milk available.

The hall carpets were really tatty with black tape in several places holding it together. The room itself was recently refurbished however the shower went from boiling to freezing with the slightest movement of the mixer tap. A fan was provided as there was no aircon in the room.

Breakfast was excellent and served very quickly Room was very comfortable clean and we both slept very well The location was ideal for our trip and really lovely right beside the river

This was our third stay at this hotel in 5 years and the renovations etc are still ongoing some areas of the hotel are still needing updating but this was mainly the corridors etc and did not distract from a very pleasant stay.

Room was very spacious, quiet, and with a beautiful view of the river. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was huge, with a large shower and a stand alone bath tub. Highly recommend paying extra for one of these rooms. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Lovely welcome, check out, and throughout our stay. Wesley the cat was a lovely addition. Breakfast was good, plenty of options for gluten free guest. Very accomodating. Full English, toast, cereals, fruit etc. Plenty of parking spaces outside. Town centre is a short taxi ride away

Carpets in hallway in need of refurbishment but the hotel have mentioned they are doing it up bit by bit. Can't fault anything

First time we had stayed here. Fab welcome by staff. Great variety and quality of breakfast & very helpful staff. Great location. Liked the different areas in the hotel to relax. Pool table was a bonus! Different lights and in different locations in the bedroom was a real bonus for us. Atmosphere very relaxing - just what we needed!

Hotel needs have a refurb update in places such as the carpets. However, the bedroom and bathrooms have clearly been updated and it was clear that this was the intention of the hotel ongoing. It didn’t affect our stay we thoroughly enjoyed it as did our friends and all the staff either in reception, bar or waiting tables eg at breakfast and room cleaning could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is on the river with a lovely view. The rooms are big and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit shabby, but clean. The lights by the bed didn't work and the shower was difficult to figure out.

Decor of room and the fan included for temperature comfort of the room Our room had a river view which was lovely Peaceful and quiet location- perfect! We ate dinner in the restaurant- food was amazing. Very generous breakfast on offer too- fresh fruit/ cereal/ breads/ tea/ coffee/ fruit juices, with the hot food cooked to order

The Hotel is going through a period of enhancements, which in the long run will smarten the place up immeasurably. A little tired looking in shared areas and corridors, but they are obviously working on it!

we stayed in a large room overlooking the river. The food was really good & all the staff were very friendly & helpful especially Esme who was rushing around serving behind the bar & serving food, she did all with a smile & still managed to chat to us. Our large boisterous dog was also welcome he even had a sausage for breakfast. Some lovely walks along the river with our dog off lead. when the hotel is refurbished it will be a lovely place to stay & hopefully we will be back in the future to see. We wish them lots of luck. 🙂

very run down & dated, needs a lot of work doing on it which I believe they are in the process of doing. Breakfast was to early for us 7-9 but this is just a personal thing. The bed was to small & uncomfortable & the room smelt damp, but it was nice & clean with amazing views overlooking the river & bridge.

Place to die for))) in simple words. Friendly and caring staff approach and attitude, finely designed rooms, superb service, tranquil location and atmosphere, beer...sun and rock-n-roll , general manager Dave's attitude, lovely healthy food.....and many many more, even that black cat on the car roof top...you have to discover this place for yourself)....it depends what you are looking for)))....you look for trouble-you find troubles, we were looking for peace, pleasure, tranquillity closeness to nature and nice people around and we were unexpectedly pleased and surprised. Wish you the same)

Great location overlooking the River Thames, our room was very large and luxurious- it had just been refurbished, the bed was massive and very comfortable, the bar area had also been refurbished and was very pleasant. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

The dining area was drab and uninspiring, there was no room service- I had to carry our meal on a tray outside to our block, some of the corridor carpets were thread bare and held together with gaffer tape, breakfast time finished very early at 9am, the full English was dried out as a result when I went down at the end.
