The staff were excellent as was the location. The breakfast was delicious with a good selection. My comments below are really insignificant compared to the lovely welcome and the bar staffs friendliness. They are only mentioned because they could be easily rectified.

Although we would definitely stay at The King Alfred again and it is not that we did not like it. It was only the door to the en-suite squeaked really loud both ways and must have been apparent to any cleaner going in or out. Considering the room was for two there was only a chair for 1 person. There is a small fridge in the room where a small pint of milk rather than the milk pods would have been better.

Onsite parking and a friendly welcome. Lovely quiet room with a nice bed and duvet. Pub food was delicious and breakfast was good. Location just a short walk from the high street. Good WiFi. Would certainly return.

Staff at breakfast seemed a little overwhelmed with dealing with orders and delivering food and setting up for the carvery. We had to drop our keys through the letterbox as all of the pub doors were locked when we left. Not sure the bathroom extractor fan was working properly as there was a bit of a musty smell.

A compact room that had everything in it that you needed. The coffee machine was a bit technical if you hadn't used one before. No decaff coffee supplied, but this is a minor point. Pub has an old fashioned skittles lane in a long room at the back of the pub garden. Great to watch, but if you wanted and early night, could have disturbed sleep. A great choice of breakfasts and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Nothing really, perhaps another shelf in the bathroom if you were staying for more than 1 night.

As we stayed on a Sunday night we were able to enjoy the carvery which was extremely tasty, good value and plentiful. Our room was clean, the shower hot and the bed really really comfortable . The cooked breakfast was very enjoyable and our host welcoming and helpful. We had a great stay.

There was nothing at all to dislike. Might just mention that the door to the en-suite could use some WD-40

Breakfast was lovely & the lady who greeted us/ cooked breakfast/ served us breakfast was friendly and done a great job. Access to room without having to go through the pub, and parking was nice and easy in car park. Really quiet room and good location, short walk to the centre of street. Good value for money.

Loxley was extremely welcoming and very helpful during our stay. The food in the restaurant really was very good and very reasonable. Excellent value all round. Bed was comfy, mugs were a good size and the fridge was a bonus. I would come again.

Shower cubicle a little tired - a re-grout would solve that.

Pub is well positioned , only 5 minutes walk to Clarks shopping village, and buses to Glastonbury & Wells, Jake the young guy that basically runs the place on his own, he works his socks off and can't do enough for you, Whatever he's paid it's not enough!!!

Bathroom could do with a bit of a upgrade
