Beryl Country House

We enjoyed everything about this magical place. The amazing gardens, the smell of jasmin. The beauty and elegance of every room. The stunning colection of statues of Lions, we ended up finding one for us in Glastonbury to hold as a precius memory of our stay at Beryl. The breakfast and the afternoon tea and the warm presence of the family that lives there and takes care of the house and its gests. Beryl is a wonderful place, we felt as we had been invited to the crowning if the King that took place while we were staying there.

We arrived late afternoon and were given a warm welcome from Matthew and just in time for coffee and cake. Loved the idea of the honesty bar which had a good selection of drinks. Room was lovely so quiet. It was just what we needed for our Anniversary stay. Breakfast was delicious. We booked our evening meals from the selection that had been recommended and they didn’t disappoint . We would definitely return such a beautiful place to stay. We also were given a small card wishing us a happy anniversary which had wild flower seeds inside which will be planted in our garden. A lovely touch

Absolutely beautiful house with a really tranquil setting. All staff are outstanding and very welcoming and knowledgeable,the room was beautiful with everything you would need and more.very comfortable with an excellent night's sleep.Breakfast was filling and very tasty also locally sourced. You can walk around the grounds which is really relaxing and picturesque.Thank you so much for making us feel really welcome. Cannot recommend the Beryl enough.

Absolutely charming character property. Very welcoming hosts who made the stay even more enjoyable. Spotlessly clean throughout. Beautiful bedroom (Winston) with lovely huge bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The shower was fantastic with plentiful amounts of hot water. Small kitchenette for guest use was fantastic for storing cheese from Cheddar. Excellent choice and quality breakfast and an added bonus of afternoon tea and delicious cake. I am quite hard to please but every box was ticked here. Loved the house and Wells was amazing.

Beryl Country House is simply the most handsome and decadent B&B you will ever find. I have stayed in many 5 star country hotels over the years but this private home and it’s welcoming owners beat them all. The room - Winston - was beautifully appointed, huge bath/shower room, fabulous decor and furnishings, giant luxurious bed, beautiful peaceful room with a country view. Breakfast was generous and packed with top quality ingredients. I must also comment on the immaculate presentation and spotless cleanliness of the room and the beautiful other spaces available to guests. A warm welcome, coffee/tea/cake on arrival, a well stocked honesty bar, an outdoor swimming pool, beautiful gardens and views, simply divine. You can’t beat this, a real hidden gem!

Absolutely nothing!

This was by far the most luxurious and nicest hotel of our 19 days stay in south England. The location is outside the city, but we walked down and up in 15 minutes, so no parking problems. Private parking. The interior was exceptional nice, like Wallace House or Wilton house. The family itself is the owner and is in charge of all, the breakfast was exceptional served at your table, with all in silver!! The garden with beautiful trees, flowers and great swimmingpool. Our room, first store back had only very small bathroom, but the room itself was beautiful and large, everything 100%

It was almost a royal reception, a place with a top service and interior taste.It is a real 5 * small luxury hotel.

Beryl Country House was nothing short of exceptional. This was a treat to myself after a tough year and boy was it worth it. My advice is stay here and you won't be disappointed. The staff were welcoming, friendly and made me feel very much at home throughout my stay. The building itself is spectacular and at the start of December was beautifully decorated. Naturally you have to set aside expectations of modernity, but that is entirely the beauty of this place. I likened the experience to the classic nature of an E-Type Jaguar, but in all honesty that would be doing the Beryl a disservice. The views I woke to and the utterly unique nature of this experience combined with some surprising mod cons were utterly wonderful. The room was astonishing. Very clean, stunningly presented and a bathroom alone larger than my own living room. Despite the grandeur of the Beryl it was on a very cold night cosy and warm throughout. Breakfast was beyond gorgeous and the congenial atmosphere from the hosts continued to the highest of standards. The balance of attentive service and friendly conversation, but whilst maintaining space and privacy so as not intrude on the experience of enjoying your breakfast is a lost art. Here they have mastered it. This was supposed to be my last ever stay in the area. The testament to how impressed I have been is that I am now planning to return every year in December with my partner from the other side of the country. For no other reason than to stay at Beryl Country House.

A fantastic place to stay. We were greeted with a very warm welcome.The decor of the rooms and interior of the hotel was excellent. Perfect breakfast and service. The hotel is situated down a small country lane which adds to its charm and peaceful setting. A much more personal experience than staying in a larger more corporate hotel. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely nothing.

What a charming house. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. It's quietly tucked away and the grounds are lovely. So peaceful. We enjoyed our beautiful view from the Master room. Gorgeous canopy bed. Spotless room and modern bathroom. The house is filled with antiques but is tastefully furnished and very inviting. The breakfast was delicious and the service was wonderful. Peaceful and perfect.

When we arrived we were given a warm welcome by Holly, and homemade cakes were on offer in the beautiful tea room. We stayed in the Master Bedroom which had phenomenal views of the garden, and of Wells beyond. The breakfast was extraordinary. Staff, grounds, location, all were incredible! Every room was a treasure. We felt like guests at a British country house in a marvelous novel!
