Location bang next to Malmsbury Abbey and has tables and seats outside to enjoy people watching . Very well furnished and decorated in the medieval decorative and quirky style . Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of places to sit or enjoy a drink . Staff exceptionally helpful. Car park for residents .

Double room described as cozy actually small although at time of booking there was limited choice . No chair to sit in other than desk chair so lying on bed only option . Shower room and toilet in suite but also somewhat crampt I also felt that the restaurant food was at best acceptable and somewhat disappointing given the luxury nature of the property .

From our arrival to departure we were made to feel at home by the efficient and friendly staff. This hotel is in the very centre of the historical old town of Malmesbury, yet has all modern facilities. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable and there was an over the bath shower. There was some noise from the road (double glazing would help) although not too bad. The lounges are elegant and comfortable and breakfast was copious and tasty, if a little oily. Parking was on site and although were able to find a space easily, they were limited. We were able to store our bicycles in a safe place. WeFi was excellent.

Just a couple of small minuses - see above.

Great reception from staff who had gone out of their way to accommodate my request to check in slightly early; beautiful room with luxurious extras - bathroom was really indulgent; very full & varied breakfast box supplied as I had to leave early next morning; night porter (and lovely dog) helpful for early departure; a really gorgeous building with sympathetic furnishings & decor.....wish I could have been there longer!

I got very little sleep due to my room's location at the back of the building - there was some kind of external extractor fan or pump which burst into life at regular intervals throughout the night and unfortunately kept me awake for many hours - making my 4 hour drive next morning quite challenging.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable enough but see comments below Our dinner was good but see comments below. The breakfast was very good

The room was spacious enough because there was a separate dressing room but the bedroom was quite small. More importantly, the "double" bed was only 4'6" and the mattress, whilst soft and comfortable sagged somewhat and so perhaps needs replacing (we gave this feedback to the hotel upon checkout). We had dinner (group of six of us) and whilst I enjoyed my dinner, one of our group celiac - the hotel had already noted this and the person repeated this upon ordering but for both courses, there was quite a delay whilst they checked and brought the right dish. The two courses were deducted from the bill but this really should not have happened.

The hotel is quirky and different than any hotel we went to. It has a lot of places where you can sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful interior. The menu of 7 courses we had at the restaurant was amazing, it was the best we have had in a long time, with a lot of different tastes. Compliments to the chef!

Unfortunately we had a room in an annex of the hotel level to the parking lot. So we could not really open the windows or the blinds because everyone was able to look in to our room, which didn’t feel comfortable. The hotel does have beautiful bedrooms, but you cannot see which room you are paying for on the booking.com site. I did not have the feeling I got what I paid for.

We were fortunate to have arrived mid afternoon so visited the Tyger Bar and had the soft shall crab taco and scotch egg both were excellent. The gastronomic meal that night was exemplary. The chef elevated each course without the need for subversive interpretation . Lastly the serving team were to a man engaged knowledgeable and on brand .well done.Breakfast had quality ingredients Just a thought kippers and an ordinary porridge offering but perhaps more for the winter

Frankly it was as we said exceptional bit as you have asked I think the concept of a wide range of good wine by the glass is a good idea but you should ensure all white wine is well chilled The Fiano could have been a little more chilled but frankly it is a small point

The old bell inn was a last minute choice and boy oh boy were we lucky . We loved the property , the location , the quaintness of the property retaining the character but making it still appealing and functional for the everyday traveller . The food in the restaurant was the best we had the whole time in the Cotswold and that included a Michelin star restaurant . The little extra details , dressing gown , sleepers , information flyer all top notch .

Nothing the staff were Amazing , friendly , accomodating and obviously well looked after as they in turn looked after the guests really well .

I've traveled around the world for both personal and business reasons, and this place is one of the best I've ever seen. The staff is amazing, helpful and nice and the room was spotless clean and had, apart from tea and coffee and some amazing cookies, a lot of useful info about the hotel and places to see around. The hotel is an amazing combination between the crazy old building and the old style but new furniture; the building is beautiful, right next to a beautiful abbey. The village is beautiful, small, with narrow roads, nice people and great food. The breakfast was amazing, I had the poached eggs bagel that was PERFECT. 100 points out of 10 for everything, the experience was perfect and I will, for sure, come back again!

All the staff were so friendly, especially the waiter Oscar and the nice lady on reception, they couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was exceptional with a delicious range and using quality local produce when possible. Both breakfast and evening dinner were very tasty, well presented and again nothing was too much trouble. The welcoming ambience of the hotel was one of comfort and warmth with an interesting decor, particularly the giraffes! The location of being attached to the abbey and close to the mediaeval town was wonderful.

The hotel has character and is in a scenic location. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They gave a personal experience despite it being the busy peak summer holiday period. The bed was amazingly comfortable and we enjoyed cocktails in the tiger bar in the evening under the warmth of the heater. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious. Overall the hotel was very nicely presented and we enjoyed our stay so much we look forward to having the opportunity to return.

We have a large car and the parking is a bit tight, they could benefit from the use of a mirror to help guide through the archway when leaving the rear car park.
