The Royal Oak Tetbury

The room was great however, there was an issue with the lock on the door which meant it was very difficult to open once locked. There was no phone in the room so I could not have contacted reception for help. Eventually, I opened the door and one of your receptionists was able to help me, although she struggled with it too. I think this is a room for people with disabilities, so this lock needs to be sorted out because some people with disabilities may have reduced hand strength and could be trapped inside. The breakfast with fantastic: I’ve stayed in many hotels and B&Bs, and this was one of the best.

The room we booked was more than upto expectations, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts were great and even arranged flowers being in the room for my wife's birthday. Surrounded by beautiful built buildings it was a short walk up the hill to the main town, it is an excellent short stay for seeing the many antique shops and beautiful churches

As it is a pub, there are a few tables in the courtyard outside so you can hear people outside, it wasn't an issue for us, but I can understand some people may not like it.

it’s a good pub with a good selection for beers. The staff were all friendly and attentive. the food was well prepared and nicely served. The rooms are in a separate building and our room was amazing! Lots of space with a comfortable sofa and table. Nicely decorated and a very nice bathroom. If you are booking in with a dog contact The Royal Oak directly as booking.Com doesn’t let them know.

Possibly the are in front of the accommodation which is set out patio furniture could get busy in the summer months. This would not stop us from booking again.

A great place to both eat and stay. The friendly positive staff made sure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was cozy very clean with a great shower. Jason (chief) Charlie and Sharry made us feel so welcome. Jason went the extra 9 yards and on our final night prepared a magnificent soup especially for us. The room was well appoint and ideal for a one-night-stop over or as in our case a longer stay. Just a wonderful and positive stay and we strongly recommend if you are in Tetbury you opt to stay and eat at the Royal Oak

Cosy coaching in. Good to have gluten free snacks and oat milk in the room and a gluten free Peroni in bottles. Very good cooked breakfast - compliments to the chef and a charming breakfast waitress.

Bedroom was a bit small. Being gluten free and dairy free the evening menu could have been more varied. Especially the starter and pudding courses. I know staffing the kitchen is difficult with no chef on Monday and Tuesday. It was very popular when food was on.

Location was good, with lovely country walks in the doorstep. Breakfast was excellent.

Extremely noisy when we arrived as there had obviously been an event during the afternoon, and the music was still on full blast outside our room. This was switched off after about 15 mins. Someone was walking around all night in the room above us though, which was not nice. There was a huge heap of carpet sweepings on the coffee table when we arrived which was disappointing.

The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you. Stunning location. Didn't dine on the the evening, this is something I regret. The food coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous. Next time I will definitely dine.

Few cobwebs in room. Sour dough toast was hard and dry. Maybe offer different bread options. Over all nothing really to complain about. Great place to stay. A real gem and I will be back.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Well presented room with very comfortable bed. Full set of very nice toiletries. Excellent breakfast and pub was busy with a good atmosphere.

It was possible to hear muffled sounds from fellow guests whilst in room although it wasn't a major issue and free wifi didn't work in the room - fine in the pub.

Sadly there was no cooked breakfast on the day we stayed which we only were told the day before, the continental was ok but food out on the bar, not covered, lots of flies around the food…..

Room was comfortable but not as clean as i would expect, breakfast dishes and cutlery were also of a poor cleanliness standard.

Rooms were decorated in a lovely style, comfortable bed, toiletries supplied were a nice touch and very good quality. We were even able to check in early as our room was ready which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was well made and good quality. Would definitely come back!
