First impressions - Welcome and check in were very good. Paul welcomed us and immediately set the tone for the rest of the stay. Francois was equally as accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you for providing an early breakfast of cereal and yogurt for my husband who was running the half marathon at Westonbirt on the Sunday. Food was simply delicious. Evening meal on the Saturday was very good. However, the star of the show for me has to be the Sunday roast (beef) which was exceptional, beef, perfectly cooked and tender, potatoes properly roasted, veg al dente, the best I have ever had in a pub. Compliments to the young chef, fantastic! The Neapolitan pizzeria was authentic, delicious and very good value. Room - Home Guard: Although the room was on the small size, layout was good, the bed was huge, pillows and bedlinen were very fresh. Shower was also very good. Great coffee machine with good coffee.

Room- Home Guard: what a shame, suffers from constant, infernal noise and smell of the kitchen extraction units from morning until 22:30 ish, although it does shut down around 21:00 on a Sunday! No view and certainly not conducive to enjoying a quiet, country village. You couldn't have or want to have either the windows or Velux roof light open for long. I'm beginning to wonder if Booking.com reservations always end up in the worst rooms? Second room in two months with this outlook. I would certainly stay again but in another room away from extraction units where you can open the windows and enjoy the views

The food was excellent, well cooked and cooked to order. Evening meal and cooked breakfast more than enough to keep you going. The staff were first class and couldn’t do enough for you. Car parking great and location for Westonbirt Arboretum was ideal (less than 10 minutes drive).

Both rooms we had were small but possibly what you expect for a country pub. Our room specifically had no hanging space except for a coat hook on the back of the door. Ok for a one night stay but not ideal for longer. There is room to do something about this as the room has 2 ample drawer units (swap one for a hanging rail?).

Quiet & attractive location in a well kept & welcoming pub. The food was really good - the pub kitchen was closed on the Monday of our stay but the pizza chalet was open and proved an excellent place for our family get together.

Our superior room only had two coat hangers on the back of a door (no dedicated hanging space) but did have both a dressing table and a chest of drawers. The position of the plentiful plugs + the strength of the curly lead of the hairdryer made hair drying in front of the mirror virtually impossible. The duvet was very heavy & hot.

The staff here are excellent - friendly, efficient and welcoming, both for dinner and breakfast. We knew we had booked a small room but it was very comfortable and there were good tea and coffee supplies (coffee machine) and bottles of water. Dinner was delicious and plenty of choices for breakfast - freshly cooked.

I was a little surprised at the cost of the vegetarian main courses at dinner. My experience as a vegetarian is that costs are usually slightly lower than main meat dishes. The portion wasn't large, to reflect the cost charged.

This was an unexpectedly fantastic trip. The town was very small but nice, room was very clean and comfortable, food and bar was delicious, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful (Lin and Quinton!). Couldn't recommend the Cat and Custard Pot more highly!

It was difficult to get a taxi to pick us up from the Inn, however it is possible and the staff will share a list of local taxi drivers with you. Taxi to/from Bath was around 70 pounds, so just something to budget into your stay if you do not plan on bringing a car.

The staff were amazing. Me and my daughter were staying there as we were going to a gig at Westonbirt Arboretum. We didn't want to take the car to the gig and tried to book a cab which proved to be impossible. I have to give a special mention to Lynn (who is the lunchtime supervisor) who arranged for a friend to take us and then pick us up after. The food was excellent and the location is stunning. I've always wanted to go to the Cotswolds and it certainly lived up to expectations.

Gorgeous village and very pretty pub. The staff were very friendly and also extremely accommodating when it came to our 2 small dogs. They were allowed everywhere in the pub and dining area. There was a great atmosphere and the food was excellent.

We were warned that the room would be very small, we did have the dog bed to bring in and it meant that it was hard to move around. The bed was way too soft for us so we struggled to sleep and woke up with back ache.

Lovely place to stay in. Relaxed atmosphere, comfy seats and tables, nice bar area. Room was very nice, very comfy bed, very quiet, no traffic noise, solid walls, plenty of space, great coffee machine, bathroom nice and large and very clean. Food delicious, good choice of food from reasonable to pricey - varied menu, covering vegetarian choices. relaxed, casual, un-fussed, attentive when required, very polite staff, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely - good choice and freshly-cooked food - no complaints there for sure. Great choice, with closeness to Tetbury and surrounding areas and places to visit.

Not really anything was an issue - my shower did go cold halfway through, but I guess at that time a few other residents were competing for their share of the the hot water also. 😆. Wine and cider a bit pricey, but this seems to be the normal these days, post-covid anyway.

The staff were very friendly and really helpful. The facilities available were great. Having the choice of two dinner options when we were there was lovely. Room was cosy, great to have heated towel rack and tea and coffee facilities. We were staying for a wedding so was good to have an iron and board easily available. Breakfast was very good quality. Felt like being at home but without having to do the chores! ;) We were very well looked after !

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Room was warm & bed comfortable.

Large room but sloping eaves made moving around quite hazardous.Knocked our heads quite a few times. Room overpriced even though there was a very large bathroom. The cold tap on the handbasin ran warm/ not cold. There was a strange smell in the bathroom which could have been a drain issue. Food and wine prices were very expensive.
