Brook Marston Farm Hotel

The food in general was really excellent, barring 1 starter and 1 dessert. The lamb shank was fantastic, as well as the fish bass which was pan fried to perfection and wonderfully crispy. The room was clean and characterful. The bed was super comfortable with crisp clean sheets provided.

There was a calamari starter for dinner which was quite poor with most of it being the bread coating and a stodgy "fishy-like" filling. The sticky-toffee pudding was probably the worst of all the food items we tried. Something surely must have gone wrong in its creation, as the granular texture of the cake was so unpleasant we couldn't finish it.

We could not fault the hotel. They accommodated us perfectly, especially as the original place we booked was awful and we need to find another place at short notice during Crufts weekend was not easy. The room was warm, and clean and had everything we needed, even a lovely table and chair so wasn't the need to sit on the bed. It's an old style of building but had lots of character. The evening meal and breakfast we couldn't fault was plentiful and value for money, locally sourced produce, so the sausages and eggs were amazing. The final point is, as not sure of the lady who greeted us on arrival and on check out but she was a great host and looks after her guests. We will defo use the hotel again if attending Cruft in 2024.

I thought the hotel was excellent value for money, in fact I feel like they are under selling themselves. We paid £25pp for a 1 night stay which included breakfast. We had dinner in the hotel the night before too and the food was great. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the chef even came out and spoke to us before dinner and breakfast. The facilities are a little bit dated, however everything was absolutely spotless. I couldn’t pick a fault in the hotel if I tried, the next time I am after a hotel in the area I will definitely go back.

Very peaceful stay, I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from everything and just want to relax and get zen.

The water pressure in the bathroom was the only thing that bothered me a bit. I like it when it splashes ahrd, and not just drizzles hahaha.. But other than that, I have zero complaints!

Very friendly and helpful staff - accommodated last minute booking for room and dinner. Food - all 3 courses and wine were very nice, particularly the sticky toffee pud. Very large spacious room, bathroom, and large comfy bed. Room was spotlessly clean. If your preferred taste is very modern this may not be for you, but I liked the decor and thought it was in keeping with the hotel. The hotel itself has lots of character and nice grounds.

Better signage from the main road and lighting in car park would be helpful.

The staff were warm, friendly & helpful. We were coming from quite far and they did their utmost to ensure our comfort. We honestly felt like royalty the way we were handled from check in to breakfast to being waved off goodbye. I've not received service like this in so called fancy 5 star places. It was a special weekend away for me and my partner that staying here only enchanced it.

There was nothing we didn't enjoy about the stay frankly. It only exceeded our expectations.

I had seen that cleanliness was rated low in reviews. There were some small stains on the carpet in the room, but that's to be expected in a dog friendly hotel surrounded by fields. It's not really dirt, just stains. The bathroom was shining, restaurant was clean, food very tasty, both dinner and breakfast. Vegan options were available without having to pre-book them. All the staff were met were very friendly and helpful, and great with the doggy. The beds were also very comfy!

If you are looking to enjoy a quiet getaway from the hustle bustle of the city, then this is the perfect place for that. A walk around to Middleton Lake, a wonderful local pub, a quintessential countryside hotel and the most lovely, warm and welcoming staff. Tom at reception was especially so helpful and offered invaluable advice to us regarding the area around, places to see and pubs to visit. We would definitely come back to stay here again!

The manager was lovely very friendly. Some of the staff were not so friendly but still addressed all needs quickly and afficantly. The hotel was lo lovely. Its an historical building with extension. Some of the decor is dated but very clean. The food was fabulous. The court yard enchanting.

Limited staff on duty ment staff were working across site in assorted roles and this resulted in having to seak out staff on occasion.

Value for money , food was excellent , two sitting rooms to relax in . Very friendly staff Rooms were pleasant tidy and clean Toiletries and linen good quality

Some general tidying up around the car park area required, pot holes on entrance road need filling (not too bad) Entrance to courtyard rooms - wood outside door needs replacing (warped) Outside paintwork needs attention All cosmetic work but would make a difference .
