OYO Tamworth Arms Boutique Pub & Hotel

The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff, well what can I say they were so accommodating and lovely. We asked if we could have breakfast 15 minutes earlier as we needed to be up and out by just after 8 am. Which was absolutely fine with the lovely lady in the morning. The room was lovely, and the bed was comfy. We slept very well. Food was lovely, a variety for all. We had chicken balti, rice, naan, and masala chipsy partner had the fish and chips. Both portions were more than enough for us both. We even booked for another night, and the food was again worth every mouthful.

The car park was not signed, so we spent a while looking for it. Unfortunately, there was not anywhere to park. Maybe allocated carparking spaces for hotel guests would help.

Lovely little pub/hotel, staff are really friendly and food is fabulous, with it being right by the road I thought it would be noisy but I didn’t here any traffic at all which was great, our room had everything we needed, we stayed in June and we where glad to have air conditioning too, there was a little issue when we arrived with a leak but we didn’t let that ruin our weekend, staff where brilliant, we where out all day Saturday and came back to replenished towels and they even tidied and made our bed, I wasn’t expecting that either as we where going home Sunday, Thank you some much for a lovely weekend Tamworth Arms pub and hotel.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t like anything it’s just the car park was at the end of a street , little awkward to find too but otherwise that’s it,

I arrived at the Tamworth Arms quite determined that I wasn't going to like it because my daughter, who we were visiting, changed her plans a few minutes after I'd booked the room for Saturday and Sunday. I immediately tried to change the booking to the Friday and Saturday but they wouldn't change the booking. But they would sell me the room for the Friday as well. I was furious. However, the place was really lovely and rather annoyingly, I can't fault it. The room was lovely. The shower was excellent. There was a safe and a small fridge. Tea/coffee making facilities. The beds were really comfortable. We had a curry on one of the nights and it was absolutely amazing. The stay was brilliant.

There was no shelf or unit in the bathroom so we had to put everything away in our wash bag each time and stow it on the floor. There was no information in the room about breakfast times, no menus or safety procedures. There was no cooked breakfast, which wasn't a problem for us but could be for others.

We had a lovely welcome and very helpful re parking as it’s behind the property but ample . The rooms are lovely , really great for electric devices including USB ports which is very unusual. There was a safe and mini fridge which was also brilliant.The beds were comfortable, shower a very good size all very clean . Breakfast is a cold affair but lots of choice and the lady that was on hand to help was very friendly and accommodating.

The only grumble was either the walls were thin or that our neighbour was a very angry man swearing and shouting at his children at a late hour . This wouldn’t put me off staying again as the owners can’t be responsible for awful guests .

Lovely place...Lovely location...friendly staff. .really accommodating and warm and welcoming atmosphere for all. Free parking is always a bonus and the accommodation including parking felt secure. Short walk to the town centre and retail parks. There also seems like there is quite a few things to do within a short radius of the hotel.

If it wasn't for the fact that there wasn't a choice of a cooked breakfast I would have given them top marks. Whilst it said breakfast included I think it should state continental style. Having the choice of a good Old English Breakfast would have topped it . We had a family room and whilst I had a lovely sleep in a comfy bed the 3rd bed was really uncomfortable for my brother. I appreciate it was more than likely a sofa bed but all you could feel was really hard wood. As the 3rd bed is made up in the room I would suggest they get a mattress topper to add comfort.

The room was compact, but very well appointed. Their evening meals were exceptional and I would recommend anything off their menu. The Shower was excellent even though there was a plumbing problem which meant the area below got an extra shower whilst they sat at a table. That said the venue was certainly aware of the issue and hopefully its now solved. Only downside was a continental breakfast and no hot bacon and eggs, that said the venue is working on this

The lack of a hot breakfast, as they did not have a breakfast chef, so no hot food was available so from a dietary point of view no Proteins just sugars which for a diabetic may not be the best way to start the day

The Tamworth Arms was lovely, the rooms albeit small were perfectly clean and modern and did the job perfectly for an overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food menu in the bar was excellent. even the continental breakfast was good with lots of choices and plentiful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay.

There isn’t much parking we arrived around 2.30 when the pub itself was busy but the later in the day it got the easier it was to get a parking space. we had a couple of hiccups with the bedside light being out, the air conditioner unit not working and the shower tray being blocked. This wasn’t really an issue for the sake of one night and we were asked if there was another room if we wanted to move. The staff were apologetic about it too.

Amazing staff, so helpful and friendly. Great having a pub downstairs. Sadly didn't get to try the pub food as I had had dinner elsewhere with work. Drinks great and good selection on tap. Room beautifully decorated. Love that you can switch lights on and off from the bed. Comfortable bed. Bathroom looks great. Shower pressure good. Good amenities in the room for tea and coffee. Good location. Within walking distance of train station.

Breakfast - coffee was good but the other options were not great. En suite bathroom smelled really weird when I arrived. I tried airing it out for a few hours by leaving the door open but just made the room smell. No window in the bathroom for ventilation so probably the problem. Maybe air vents need a good clean out.

I arrived early evening but still managed to find a space in the car park behind the hotel (not signposted). The access to the reception is from the rear car park. The receptiopn is in the bar which was busy but was OK to check in. The rooms are via access from the front and so from reception had to walk through the crowded bar and out, not ideal but was OK. Room was spacious and very clean, was impressed with bathroon standard. The bar is great for single travellers and ther restaurant was great, could not fault this. I had been a passing guest on the night before opening during 2022 and said I would come back, not disappointed

The bar seems seperately managed to the hotel, I entertained there and liked it, unfortunately the staff could not add my drinks / food to my overall bill which is limiting when I need a VAT receipt for everything rather than individual till receipts. A minor point but important these days for business travellers

We found the rooms were very good , the single rooms we had were small but adequate , well equipped and very clean . We liked the pub , it is different , obviously popular with locals , particularly to eat . It was very busy on both the Friday and Saturday we were there , we did not eat there through choice but the food looked (and smelled ) very good . It is a mixture of West , standard UK pub food and East , a good selection of Indian food . Breakfast was Continental , a simple buffet with good choices and the lady who was in charge was very helpful . It was a bit D-I-Y ! but none the worse for that. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a busy but nice atmosphere . We travelled by train , it is a fair way from the station and there are no direct buses but a taxi was not expensive . Buses stop close by to go to the Town Centre but it is only a 10 minute walk at the most . It is a pub hotel that is ideal for anyone who wants to stay in somewhere different to the chain hotels . We all agreed we would stay there again if we were in the area.
