Morgans Hotel

I loved this hotel. The character of the building which was once a harbourmasters office has been beautifully retained , including beautiful staircase, chandeliers and stained glass. The history of the building has been greatly respected. At a time when so many hotel rooms are very generic I loved that the rooms had names instead of numbers and that each had a different size and shape which worked around and highlighted the buildings existing structure and features. Very relaxing bar and lounge area. Cosy couches that encouraged you to sit longer and relax. We loved the cake of the day idea at the bar - simple and tempting with a cup of coffee. Loved the dining room decor, I believe it was the old harbour office board room and still retains much of the decor and atmosphere. Quirky features like a lift you can walk through to get from some of the bedrooms to the dining room.

An unusual feature was that all of the beds seemed to wheel around rather too easily. My son set up a barrier with his bags to stop his bed from moving too much. It wasn’t a problem, it added to the quirkiness if anything, but might be an issue for older guests getting in and out.

Friendly staff, clean room, lovely selection for breakfast, amazing shower in our room, complimentary drinks on arrival, ample free parking, decor in building was beautiful, spacious bedroom

The only letdown was the breakfast service. We arrived in breakfast room at 9.30 and were told to take a seat and someone would be with us to take our hot food order. 10 o'clock came and still no one arrived to take our order. We had to go looking for someone to take our order. When the waitress eventually came to take our order, we did not even get an apology.

The room in the town house is very spacious with the extra living room area - almost like a suite! The bathroom is also huge, with a big bath tub and a very good shower (very clever shower heads that can be adjusted easily) It was great to have air con in the room too. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of choice. Location is perfect and has free parking. Dinner is also really good at the hotel restaurant.

sometimes the breakfast hot food was served quite slowly, we waited once 45 mins for the food to arrive. Also things run out quickly and they don't always refill them.

Hotel really nice, good location to Marina and beach walks etc. on arrival the reception staff were brilliant as we were early and they took bags in and sent us to the bar while they checked room free? It was and they came to see us within 10 mins and had put the bags in the room for us. So nice. We were over in the Town House part and room was nice and clean, just a lack of wardrobe and hangers - it was just a little cupboard with a rail... but bathroom was brilliant and gleaming.

The breakfast area was nice enough, just think the staff need a little more training on upbeat greeting, didnt tell us how the breakfast options worked, just said morning and can sit anywhere. Coffee ran out of the pot, 2 out of 3 mornings they got our breakfast order wrong my Poached egg on toast with Mushrooms came as fried egg with a side of avocado!! I said i would eat it anyway. No happy, bubbly welcome or goodbye and a couple of times there were 4 of them congregated round the bar bit chatting - not a good look really. Nothing bad, but lots to brush up on.

Very friendly staff at the check in. Especially the brunette lady( sorry we forgot your name) We received a complementary upgrade and a welcome drink which was a very nice surprise. Extra long bath was great. It’s a good location close to the town. Very good breakfast option, fresh and a good standard.

It would have been a perfect stay, however, we were left disappointed with the pizza in the restaurant. The starters were lovely and everyone else’s food looked amazingly but our pizza sadly didn’t live up to expectations. It was a shame as I would normally not choose a pizza in a posh restaurant but it sounded good on the menu. Other than that it’s a great hotel.

The hotel is beautiful. Spacious, inviting, music and ambience relaxing, plenty of staff on hand. The Artizan suite we stayed in was absolutely stunning. Clean. Amazing use of a loft space. The staff were gorgeous. So friendly, helpful, and Ben, the manager, when we checked in acknowledged that we had requested early check in and organised check in 30 mins early, as well as lined up a beautiful little sweet snack board with Happy Anniversary message and a token for a complimentary drink each at the hotel. So nice and fantastic service.

The breakfast coffee machine was too sci-fi! But a lovely member of staff who was a gentleman came and helped me with it.

A very good location to have as a base to explore. Private parking but can get full. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service. We stayed in the extended part of the hotel across the road, the room was big and very comfortable. Tea/coffee-making machines, bottled water, iron, and ironing board are all supplied in the room.

We had a cleaning issue with our room, it had not been cleaned properly prior to us checking in as there were large pieces of green glitter all over the carpet and bathroom, and one of the litter bins had not been emptied. The contents inside the bin were not very nice. However, the customer service was amazing and it was dealt with very quickly.

Location was great and staff were very accommodating and helpful. The staff also resolved an issue we had with our room location and moved us to a more suitable room for the second night of our stay.

We were initially put into a room called 'Hafod' which was located right by reception on the ground floor. This meant that we were able to hear guests/staff talking throughout the night as well as noises such as the staff entrance to reception opening and closing. This made getting to sleep/staying asleep through the night quite difficult and this wasn't ideal as I was competing in the Iron Man 70.3 the following day which meant a very early start. When we mentioned this to the reception staff, they were incredibly accommodating and proactive in moving us to a far quieter room for the second night of our stay which was excellent.

Staff were exceptional - big thank you to Ben who was amazing after the disappointment of The Proclaimers concert being cancelled, and arriving to terrible rain all day. Ben made us smile with a complimentary drink and reassurance that we would enjoy our stay. Hotel is a beautiful-historical building, clearly loved and well cared for by the fabulous staff. Dinner and Breakfast were both delicious. Would recommend this hotel as best place to stay in Swansea.

Only short coming was being in separate building to main hotel - which couldn’t be helped as main hotel was fully booked with a pre wedding party. Everything else was spot on and cannot fault anything. Location is really good and we enjoyed going to the Dylan Thomas museum on the Saturday morning just a short walk away from hotel.

Everything! A beautiful old building, with charm and character, but also modern facilities and service. We loved the ambience in the bar and the welcome drink was indeed welcome!. Dinner in the restaurant was superb, as was the breakfast, fresh cooked to order. The rooms in the townhouse were lovely and well appointed - great warm shower and bath products. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The location, just a short walk to the marina in one direction and the city centre in the other was great too, as was the free parking right opposite the hotel.

Nothing. Perhaps a little warm in the townhouse, but windows opened and was still secure.
