The tapas evening meal was really excellent, with a good variety dishes, very well cooked and presented. All the staff were particularly helpful and very nice. The view over the estuary from the window and balcony is lovely. There is a large free car park opposite the hotel.

Breakfast is limited to cereal, fruit, yogurt and croissants or Danish pastries. It was perfectly OK but not amazing. You had to wait until 9.00 to have breakfast in the bar area. The earliest time for breakfast was 8.00 but that was served on a tray to eat in your room. The room is adequate for sleeping and showering etc, but not big enough for a meal. The weather was fine so we were able to use the table and chairs on the balcony. The (very small) wardrobe had no space for clothes as it was full of pillows.

Staff were really friendly, on site restaurant was great and it's excellent having a gelato place right next door. Location was perfect for walking the coastal path. The room was cute and comfy and for the money, the breakfast was just the job - not special but more than fine for us.

The room we were in was on a very noisy road, that stayed noisy all night. Nothing that really could have been done but on a hot summers evening it made sleeping difficult. Another room option maybe?

This was our second time staying here .the rooms are always spotless .tea & coffee making facilities in your room plus a TV with Netflix and loads of other channels to watch .WiFi throughout but can keep throwing you out but not to much of a problem you just log back in .Breakfast in your room delivery at what time you've choosen ,which is continental and beautiful which can be eaten on your own balcony watching the world tick by whilst taking in the beautiful views of the estuary .every member of staff is always welcoming ,happy and extremely helpful .our stay was Monday to Friday we had a knock on our door Wednesday asking if we'd like our room cleaned which was a very good touch .The bed is hard but I slept like a baby I suffer with back problems and im now considering buying a new mattress a firmer one to what we have.the balcony is a lovely but much needed feature to sit and relax my hubby caught the sun while relaxing ,you can watch the sun going down to which was beautiful, its now become our much needed get away and will be back again next year .it's so important to recharge your batteries from daily stresses of life being a carer to our now nearly 14 Yr old daughter a few nights away is a must to recharge and just relax and in this place that's exactly what you can do its so beautiful. We use this as our base camp to travel a short distance to the beaches around the Gower and to town centre for retail therapy it is a fab starting point for all of this .you are a stone throw away from all different takeaways such as chipshop ,Indian, plus others and a large convenience store .throughout the day tea /coffee water and biscuits are topped up for you if you need anything the staff are always on hand and happy to assit .the roof terrace would be amazing if it could be an infinity pool haha 😄 just a dream of mine not a criticism as this place has everything you need .

Everything was perfect no negatives here 😃 nothing to say about what I didnt like .everything you need and more is included another perfect holiday staying here thankyou to all of the staff your amazing from start to finish 😀

Lovely location, great views, clean and comfortable room with a large balcony, nice breakfast. The staff were all lovely, we had a lovely brunch when we arrived and later sat outside having drinks. A really chilled place.

Just a few little niggles, there weren't enough plug sockets in the room especially by the coffee making area. So you plug the coffee machine in and then take the plug out to plug the kettle in, the socket is very low so you have to get on your hands and knees to plug anything in. And a bit dangerous the kettle being that low. The lighting was a bit poor too, the kettle and coffee making facilities were on a lovely unit with a mirror on with hairdryer in the drawer. Perfect for make up and hair to be done but with no light here you couldn’t make use of the area.

It was a lovely room with a balcony, the view was fabulous & breakfast on the balcony was really special. Staff were great and the lunch we had was delicious.

They recommended a taxi firm to take us to the wedding reception we were attending in the evening. I pre booked this 4 days before and was quoted price. The taxi was 1/2 hour late and then tried to increase price by £20!! We only paid one way and refused to pay the increase. The taxi never turned up at the end of the night. Thankfully the wedding venue organised another for us and we were charged the correct fare. I would advise the estuary not to recommend that taxi firm to future guests.

Tapas dinner in the bar and atmosphere was nice. Ice cream shop next door has very good ice cream. Tea/coffee available in the room. Shower gel/body cream also available. Clean and fresh decoration with a balcony. Parking space available in front.

Breakfast options were limited and needed to be picked the evening prior. Toast was not an option. After a bit of back and forth, staff agreed to replace our pastries with toast. Breakfast was unexpectedly served in the room the next morning which proved challenging as the rainy weather meant we couldn't eat it at the table on the balcony (and no real area to eat in the bedroom!). Hot breakfast option could have been available at the bar once it opened at 10am but check out was also at 10am. A later check out should be available in order to accommodate for breakfast. Otherwise, have a breakfast room/spot in the bar available in the morning.

The accommodation was beautiful. Alex the manager was a perfect host. The youngsters that were working there are a credit to their employers. They were all very polite and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. A good base for exploring the Gower.

The only things we didn't like was struggling to get at the power pont under TV to put kettle on..to use safely. Also could do with a few more shelves or maybe a small table to put toiletries on. We understood that due to covid we didn't expect the room and bed made on a daily basis. But it would have been nice if it was checked for restocking coffee, tea, water, milk and toilet paper on a daily basis so that we wouldn't have to keep asking the staff for supplies. But this didn't effect our stay which we enjoyed.

Location was fantastic as our daughter finally had her wedding day at Oldwalls Gower yesterday. Tapas was fantastic. We have recommended it already as a great place to stay with amazing food. Continental breakfast for me was enough but my husband enjoyed his poached eggs on sourdough and hasn't stopped talking about the taste.

.I thought i was having a room with a walk in shower, no bath as it would have been easier for my husband. You have no grab handles in the bath_/ shower as the walls are slippy when wet. The corner the mirror is in/dressing table was very dark and i couldn't find a plug there to plug the kettle in or a hairdryer. Balcony area was nice, would be beautiful on a sunny day, great place to birdwatch. Interesting to see the estuary dry one day and full the next. Nice to see the ponies also. Busy place for parking. Sadly didn't get chance to taste the ice cream, so many flavours! Next time.

The Estuary Bar is located on the main coast road through Penclawdd, it has been recently refurbished. The rooms and public areas are clean, bright and modern. there is plenty of free car parking adjacent to the bar. the continental breakfast is served in your room and is very good. all the staff we met were warm and friendly.

The only evening meal was tapas so if you wanted something different you had to drive to another restaurant as apart from a couple of takeaways there is very few places to eat nearby. The sink in the bathroom was miniscule. The bar's location is not great, it is close to a nasty bend on a busy road. Tables in the bar can be booked by anyone so you may be asked to move when you are having a drink.

We were made to feel very welcome. The Continental Breakfast made for a relaxed start to each day. Our balcony was a wonderful addition. Having extra tea/coffee supplies easily available on the landing is excellent. The location is excellent for our Gower visit. We also enjoyed our Ice Cream downstairs. Parking was easy.

Overall we loved our stay. As the property is on a busy corner, we were glad to have visited off-season as there was a lot of traffic. We couldn't hear the traffic much inside our room. I am sure that with holiday traffic such as caravans, it would sometimes be awkward getting in and out of the car park. The green Emergency light in our room was extremely bright and made getting back to sleep very difficult.
