We liked everything about this little place - its location in a small unspoilt village, its ambience and the standard of service and facilities. It's relatively easy to get to from the motorway and is close to Bristol. An evening walk from the pub door alongside the river is a pleasant experience and an opportunity to work up an appetite for the excellent food on offer.

Nothing really. It wasn't explained on our arrival that breakfast would be provided in our room which might have saved us some embarrassment but that's a minor observation and possibly we could have made a more thorough exploration of our room first!

breakfast was self service in the bedroom just continental

very impersonal sort of place When we arrived we could find nobody tried main door into pub which seemed locked and after walking all around the building at least twice found a kitchen door open and then two people who said thee is probably someone around. At the front we saw somebody push the front door veryhard and go nside we followed and said who we were and we were asked to pay there and then .Anyway the room was in an outside block up some stairs and was ultra modern and quite nice

Location was out of the way, which was fine for me, I was travelling on business, so to have a quiet place to stay was just what I needed, I could see that there were local walks directly to the accommodation, unfortunately, I always have work to do, so I missed out on the walks. The room also had a fridge that was stocked with water, milk, butter etc, and for free use, what more could you ask for. The Hotel is a little gem f your looking for piece and quiet in an attractive location.

Everything was fine.

Lovely room, comfy bed, powerful shower. Sweets put in the room. Lovely and clean, good Tv. Great food in the bar, friendly staff.

Breakfast was continental style, but plenty of it and you ate in your room. Two slices of fresh bread, lots of various hot drinks, butter, yoghurt, fruit juice, bottled water in fridge too. Not quite a full English breakfast but healthier for sure! Toilet light switches off after a few minutes and is on a PIR sensor which doesn’t pick you up when you’re in the shower, but there’s still a small green light that gives enough light to see by. A few people commented on the mechanical noise from downstairs which I think must be a heating pump or similar. It’s not obtrusive and didn’t stop me sleeping. I wouldn’t worry about that. I will definitely stay here again!

Excellent location and fab walks down to the river and through the beautiful and historic village. I was blown away by how they tried so hard to accommodate me (being vegan). They bought me so many extra breakfast items especially, I was so touched. Bed was really comfy, room clean and well decorated.

The constant hum from a refrigeration/aircon unit kept me awake the first night. If it wasn't for this slight issue I would have given this accommodation 10/10. Bathroom radiator was scorching hot!!

Really friendly staff apart from the young lady who whipped away our menu without asking us if we wanted a sweet, which we did want but couldn’t be bothered to try and get her attention again. Quirky very well equipped accommodation. Very clean.

Fan/fridge noise. Not sure which but ran all night and my partner could not sleep through it. Also my lamb chops were a very poor offering of a pair of thin, fatty, tough shoulder chops. Apparently the food here is generally very good. Maybe I was unlucky but even though mentioned it to a couple of staff (one of whom said that other people had said the same thing about the lamb) we didn’t actually receive an apology or even proper recognition. The entire place seemed to be staffed by a bevy of extremely young pretty girls who were pleasant enough but don’t really understand customer service.

This was a nice country pub, which on arrival was strange as the breakfast was in the room and o thought a bit weird, after a superb meal at the pub downstairs and a comfortable nights sleep breakfast was actually very good, in actual fact homemade granola and toast is all I have most mornings at home so this was no different and very good.

Comfortable and private room, well equipped. Loved the opportunity to take things a bit more slowly with an 11 am checkout - this was possible due to all breakfast items ( a good range of food) provided in the room, rather than breakfasting in the pub. The pub does look lovely and we will try the food another time. Sunday morning pétanque behind the pub is an interesting feature. Easy walks by the River Severn from the car park.

It's a shame that the pub closed at 10 pm as we would have liked a nightcap. There was some kind of kitchen machine humming beneath us all night, which didn't keep us awake but some might prefer a room a little further away from the kitchen.

We stayed because my other half was running a course nearby. Communication was prompt and helpful. Location was great for us and would have been good for exploring the area, too. Our room was very quiet, spacious, with everything you could want, lights in the right places, plug sockets with phone charging holes, alarm clock, a posh kettle, fridge with milk and plenty of tea and coffee. The bed was enormous and really comfortable. The en suite was large and warm with a light that put itself on as you enter! Bath as well as shower - that was a nice treat! Towels were huge and fluffy. Breakfast was DIY in your room but included yoghurt, a choice of cereal, orange juice, bread for toast, butter and a selection of jams etc. Perfect for us as we had to go out early. And we were able to have our evening meal in the room too! This was a special request as we were trying to be Covid-careful but it was no problem. Food was great

Nothing! Everything was excellent!
