The size of room was vey appropriate and overall cleanliness was excellent. The bed was large and quite comfortable. It was reasonably quiet considering how close to a busy main road the hotel is situated. The parking is excellent with wide parking bays. The staff were friendly and polite.

A little pricey compared to other accommodation in the area and breakfast was extra making it even more expensive. The service was a little slow but in my opinion there wasn't enough staff on duty to cover the volume of people staying / eating at the accommodation. There were no drawers in the bedroom to keep small items together and one of the bedside lights wasn't working.

One night stay on a Thursday night. I arrived mid afternoon and was quickly booked in by friendly member of staff. Lodging is in separate building to the pub but just a short walk across the large carpark. Very easy to find when approaching Chepstow from the motorway. Only meal I had was Continental breakfast. Great value The room was spotless. There was a large double bed & single in my room. I chose to sleep in single next to window. The room had excellent sound proofing and although located next to the main road there was very little noise. Bathroom had a lovely powerful shower over the bath and the bedroom has good controllable air conditioning. Lots of plugs & USB charging points close to bed. There was a kettle with selection of drinks & biscuits in the room. I didn't bother with TV & WiFi as I went out soon after arriving & didn't get back until almost midnight.

No taxis seem to be in existence in Chepstow. No fault of the pub/hotel. The pub is situated at the top of a VERY steep hill. The walk down to the town is OK but the return is a killer if you are not as fit as you'd like.

All of the staff I came into contact with were lovely and welcoming. The rooms were clean and spacious and the air con was great in the hot weather. Great location, close to train station. Good selection at breakfast and the food I had in the evening at the restaurant was good too. I was really pleasantly surprised with the facilities and overall stay here. I would definitely recommend and stay again in the future.

The only thing was when checking into the hotel, I didn't know where I was supposed to go. Maybe worth mentioning somewhere in the description where you are to go. It was in the pub at a little check in desk but was not signposted or anything so I walked around searching for a while before I managed to ask someone.

We had breakfast which was delicious one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a good sleep. We ordered some mocktails in the evening for our children at the bar which were delicious too.

We would have liked a small handwash or soap in the bathroom of our room . We used the bodywash which was provided by the shower. The doors banging quite early by other guests was a little annoying as this woke us earlier than we would have liked and went on for about twenty minutes. However this happens where ever you stay sometimes.

Breakfast, no fuss, well presented, tasty. Good seating area, well lit. Good choice of hot foods for various dietary requests. Room, clean, of good size with comfy bed and a very adequate bath/shower. Good towels. Quiet despite being close to road, good parking, plus two electric car charging points. Dinner menu OK, good size portions, well cooked. Bar/dining area light and airy, with good space outside to eat and drink. Good variety/range of drinks to enj Staff I found were excellent throughout.

The walk back up the hill from the town!! But you know about that when you book.

Whole building was air conditioned so immediately when we went in, it was very pleasant especially because of the heat. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and clean.

Despite enjoying our stay, we feel like the price was too much for the one night. £135 for one night, breakfast not included, which is disappointing. Since we visited chepstow for hiking purposes, the location is on top of a steep hill which was difficult after walking a lot. The property was very obvious and the directions were very clear.

I liked that it was so clean and comfortable, the amenities were great and the price was excellent. It was right near the town centre and right on the main road. It fet very secure and very well organised and I loved the shower. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very well layed out and have everything you could need for a short stay.

You could hear very clearly when other people were leaving their rooms and opening and closing their doors as the walls were a bit thin. It was a bit annoying that the TV wasn't actually connected to any of the channels it had access to such as Netflix, you had to have an account with them yourself to access the channel.

It has all the modern conveniences and is well designed. easy walk downhill to the castle, restaurants, shops, historic walled city area.restaurant across the parking lot looked very good but we had reservations at a lovely Italian place overlooking the river. Efficient checkin at a little booth inside the restaurant. Nice, professional staff.

on a busy street so scary walking into town centre. no refrigerator in the room. Plastic plants in the entrance planters were off putting as the restaurant area (where receptors located) is landscaped with real plants.

Room was a good size, clean, cosy and modern. The shower is convenient in the morning but there was also a bath which is great for a nice soak in the evening. I had both an evening meal and breakfast at the pub and both were excellent. I'm working away from home in Chepstow so also very convenient as avoids any possible disruption from bridge closures.

Its not really a complaint but I think it could be made a bit clearer (for those checking in after dark) that you need to do so at the pub opposite. To my embarrassment - yes there is actually a big sign outside the door instructing you to do just that - but I initially missed seeing the print when coming from the side car park in the dark. Perhaps put a light on the sign to make the instruction more noticeable or just add an additional small sign on the internal reception window?

The location was very close to a wedding we were attending. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are in a separate building to the pub where breakfast is served so you will need a coat or umbrella if the weather is bad. There is a large Greggs almost opposite which we would use for breakfast if we stayed again.

The breakfast wasn't good. It was served until 10am and check out is 11am. We went for breakfast at 9.30, it was very busy with only 2 ladies to serve, take orders and replace crockery and glasses which was in very short supply and we had to keep asking for them. We ordered breakfast and it didn't arrive until 10.25. I had poached egg on toast and one side of the bread wasn't cooked and the toast was so wet from the eggs I couldn't spread butter on it so returned it to the kitchen.
