Great staff, really helpful and also knowledgeable about the area. Good bar area. Brilliant location right in the centre of town, close to shops, restaurants and coffee shops and only 5 mins walk to Chepstow Castle. Really comfy beds (we had a twin room) with good linens, pillows and cushions. It was lovely and quiet at night. It was really handy to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. Lovely breakfast, too, i opted for a full English and it was well prepared, nice and hot and tasty. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as a great value option in a great location.

There's not really anything I could criticise, but in complete honesty, I would have preferred the sink to be inside the ensuite shower room rather than just outside the shower room door, in the bedroom. It wasn't a problem, though, just my own little neurosis and I understand it's probably laid out like this due to the fact it's an old building that would have restrictions on refurbishment. It wouldn't put me off going back.

The Beaufort has a great central location with free parking. The carpark is in the back of the hotel, and Chepstow has one way streets, so I would recommend google mapping it before you go. The room was lovely and clean, we had a comfortable bed and slept well, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

One of our hand towels although washed had a large coffee like stain. Our room was in need of some maintenance which was a shame but maybe it is on a refurbishment list.

The hotel's location is great, very close to local shops and cafes as well as a large Tesco. Our room was located upstairs and unfortunately we could hear other guests coming back to their rooms at night. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to prepare food for us after the kitchen closed.

The only issue was some noise at night. We could hear other guests coming back to their rooms. We couldn't hear any noise from the outside. Parking at the hotel has limited availability. The shower wasn't hot, but we were getting up very early in the morning.

The best thing about the Beaufort is the manager, Ricki, who could not have been more pleasant and helpful. He tried hard to solve the one or two problems I shall mention below.

The radiator in my bedroom was not working, despite the fact that Ricki said he had checked them the week before. I was cold at the start, but used the extra blanket. Also, there was machine noise from some bar equipment. Again, Ricki sorted that....although it recurred the next day. Also, I should have liked to have been able to have supper there. Pizza was offered, but no actual dinners. Breakfast was good....but a jug of water, and a bowl of fruit would have been welcome.

Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Room better than expected as it was a reasonable size. I liked the attention to detail with the facilities in the room. Plentiful tea and coffee, hairdryer and ironing board. Bed comfortable slept very well.

The en suite was small and not enough shelves/ areas to place items. However I appreciate with age of building etc you are limited with size of rooms.Breakfast very good but would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available

Great location in the heart of Chepstow. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Easy to walk to the castle and other attractions. We took our dog with us. Bathroom was large, had a good shower and was very nice.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was quite hot in the room, although there was a fan that we used. Opened the window in the bathroom and the shelf outside was covered in cigarette ends. Probably not their fault. People smoking in other rooms and above.

Excellent location in town centre, close to motorway and just a short walk from the river, castle and local cafes/restaurants. Parking behind hotel. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and staff were very helpful. Had family room on the top floor (lots of stairs!) which was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, perfect for our needs. It was 25c+ on the day of our visit and was therefore pretty warm overnight, even with windows open, although slept fine! Also had delicious breakfast. Bar closed when we returned after dinner nearby, so didn't use (sadly!) but really enjoyed our one night visit.

2* hotel, so quite basic, but handy place to stay, particularly on a budget. No complaints!

Loved the location which was very close to the castle where we attended a local festival. The hotel has a lovely bar and outdoor area with welcoming friendly staff. Room was very spacious with plenty of storage and extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The full English breakfast was piping hot, tasty and cooked to perfection. Pity we had to rush off for a train and couldn't appreciate it more. On balance I thought the price was fantastic for our room and we would certainly stay here again. In fact we'll look forward to the next Castell Roc festival and try to book this hotel.

We were on the top floor which has several short flights of stairs to it which may not suit less able people.

We were in room # 17. Up steep, curvy steps which could be tricky for some. We are in our late 60s and had backpacks for luggage. Friendly staff, good breakfast (plenty), and loved the decor of the common area and pub. Located less then 5 minutes from the bus stop and in the center of everything Chepstow has to offer in the way of attractions. Two nights for about $164; a great value.

Tricky to get the "hot" water going for a shower. Low pressure.

Breakfast is good, lovely and friendly staff. Location is great as at centre of Chepstow. Parking is a little restrictive so went to car park behind hotel. which is free between 6pm to 8am. Paid a couple of pounds so could stay to 11am which is the same time as you need to leave room. I had a single room so quite small but not an issue. Hotel is old and therefore creaky which gives it a nice charm. Bar area is good with a nice outside seating area.

Seagulls are noisy early morning. A little dated but goes with the charm, Room can be a little warm but had a window to control the stuffiness.
