Gloucester House

This is a fabulous hotel. Great location, very close to the clock if you know Weymouth. Beautiful decor and a very comfy room. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. The icing on the cake though is the personal welcome you get from the owners Jonathan and Karen. They actually take an interest in your stay and your holiday. It reminded me of holidays in Weymouth when I was a kid and stayed in the same guesthouse every year and the owners then welcomed us in the same way. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Had such a lovely stay it’s very hard to find anything that wasn’t great.

The breakfast was amazing. The continental had all the little bits-jams, fruit, hot chocolate- you could wish for, and the cooked had excellent choices, brilliantly presented. Exceeded my expectations greatly. The room (top floor, sea view) was perfect for 2. Cosy, extremely comfortable bed and all the nice little touches- nice toiletries, biscuits, more hot chocolate :-) I particularly liked the binoculars! The hosts were so friendly and helpful. We got some good recommendations for outings and were pointed to a fabulous chip shop. Really lovely place, and brilliant value for money.

No problem for us (we live in a town house), but 70 stairs between our room and breakfast. Be mindful if you are less mobile- go for a lower room!

We had a wonderful stay at Gloucester House. A warm welcome from the hosts, they were more than accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including GF. My daughters especially enjoyed the hot chocolates made by the very freindly and attentive waitresses. The rooms and hotel were comfy and very clean with a great boutique feel. Little decorative pieces added a lovely touch. Location so close to the beach and town centre. Overall a brilliant stay and would highly reccomend to anyone staying in Weymouth.

There is no parking available however a small town carpark behind the hotel for a day/night rate.

Breakfast was excellent, Location excellent Room top off building,it was a cancellation that we booked ,so to be fare it did say top off building but a lot off stairs ,the owner did take case up and brought it down it was a small double room but had aircon,not for anyone with heath problems like COPD no lift but would stay again but a different room for us age 74

It was lovely clean really nice The owner was very helpful and the staff. Great location , Could not do anymore than they did Lovely towels ,really nice place to stay you will not be disappointed

Amazing property right by the seafront. Hosts Jonathan and Karen have done an excellent job with the rooms and they were incredibly friendly. The breakfast was to die for and the staff helping to serve it were all lovely - there is also Gluten Free options which was much appreciated. We had the twin room on the ground floor which was quiet - always good. Just a couple of mins walk to the main bus stops and to a selection of great restaurants.

Can't fault the place or the hosts.

Slept like a baby! Dont often relax and sleep in hotels but was immediately at ease and had an enjoyable stay and was almost late for my morning meeting, which on this occasion was a good thing.

Gloucester House is a great place to stay, not having parking can be inconvenient but not here, plenty close by.

the breakfast was delicious and a really good variety as i don't get hungry in the morning but my partner does so we never felt like we were under fed or wasting any food. the staff were so kind, john especially i think his name was, was so kind. we left our train tickets in the room and he'd left them out for us to collect when we came to get our bags. we felt so taken care of and it was such a lovely stay.

We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the hosts were lovely and informative of where to go for dinner places to visit as well as all the information needed at the hotel, ie Breakfast, locking of main door etc. The hotel is beautifully decorated, we could not fault the cleanliness, the rooms are warm (it was chilly outside) and the beds comfortable, crisp white linen sheets. The staff at breakfast were lovely, they chatted with our daughter and made her feel at ease about trying some new food. The lounge area had fresh fruit cake and tea to enjoy whilst gazing over the stunning sea views across the road. The hotel is on the main esplanade and you have everything within walking distance. We did not want to come home.

There is nothing not to like about this establishment.

The room was a great size and perfect for our needs, larger than average B&B with easy access to lounge next door and front door. The bathroom looked newly refurbished and good size. The bed was comfortable. It was in a perfect location, beach opposite, shops and restaurants were walking distance. The host was friendly, informative and accommodating.

We would have liked a sea view. There were noises from the lift, floor above and outside at times. Shower cubicle was very small. A wider selection in continental breakfast.

Breakfast was first class - staff very attentive - plenty of choice - can understand how the hotel has won breakfast awards with most recent award being this year Fantastic warm welcome from hosts Jonathan & Karen Impeccable decor- 1st class for cleanliness- excellent service all round - when we visit Weymouth again we will definitely be looking to book here again - please give it a try you won’t be disappointed Thank you to Jonathan,Karen and all staff 😀👍
