The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, definitely has a modern touch and feel, the room was perfect it was clean cozy and had plenty of amenities, the bed was so soft and comfy slept like a log, the food is out of this world I had the cheese burger an chips with salad all locally sourced but the taste explosion was beautiful, all he staff was friendly had a brilliant laugh with them, they really made you feel at home and welcome definitely going to stay here again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in or around the shepton mallet area.

There is nothing I didn't like

Everything! Really friendly staff that couldn’t do enough for you, great location with ample parking, close to the town and local amenities. Very comfortable bed, nice tea tray in the room and lovely continental breakfast included in room rate.

The only thing I can critique is the fact there was no key available to open the window. Totally understand the safety reason behind having the child lock but it was very hot and would have been nice to open the window a bit more, however, staff were so helpful and provided more fans to try and resolve the issue so I am being overly picky as it is the only thing about this place I can criticise.

Nice spacious room and would have taken three children in adjacent room. In common with a lot of places, hospitality staff shortages were very apparent but every effort was made not to let that affect our visit. Very interesting history behind the premises and with the possibility of being haunted.

Breakfast on a weekday could do with being available earlier, but you can't do that without staff! Two things we were happy with but which might affect some visitors. For those of a nervous disposition a haunted warning might not come amiss. The hotel fronts a mainish road but that said we were not disturbed by either vehicle lights or noise.

Absolutely needed the fan in the room as it ess really stuffy. There was a good deletion at the continental breakfast. I appreciated the gluten free bread but if I was coeliac instead of just gluten intolerant I would have needed a designated toaster. Also appreciated the decaffeinated tea bags

Bed/mattress was soft and a bit lumpy. 2 pillows each is also the norm so was surprised by only 1. The room was stuffy with a bit of a smell, which fortunately wasn't too strong . TV remote didn't work much.

The accommodation itself is lovely and close to longleat. It's good value for money and clean.

On booking.com app it states breakfast included. On the first morning, we ordered a cooked breakfast for the whole family as it was included with the price. After breakfast, the staff asked how we would like to pay. We pointed out what the booking said, but apparently, it only included a continental breakfast. They had plenty of opportunity to tell us as they had informed us of the breakfast times on arrival, and we had friends staying aswell and they didn't tell them either until it was time to pay. A clear sign stating the costs or staff that informed you when checking in would stop this happening again. Booking.com website states only continental, but if you book on the app like I did, you won't get that information. Also, the mattresses were thin, so slightly uncomfortable.

I've stayed here before and was very pleased with all aspects so booked again. This time was the same. Excellent in all areas. It's fantastic value for money with clean, well appointed rooms and the best thing about it is the staff. Friendly and accommodating. Laid back but professional at the same time so that you feel very much welcome and looked after. Definitely booking again and have already recommended to family and friends.

Would recommend, in a good location. Beautiful area, not far from Cheddar Gorge or Wookey hole and the beautiful town of Wells. Would recommend all of these places. Staff were very welcoming at the Well Inn and hospitable for our large group. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Drinks very reasonable, food was good nice continental breakfast included. Parking good.Overall I would certainly recommend.

Few DIY issues that could be addressed quite easily. Bunk bed in family rooms are bit noisy during the night. Chef wasn’t available for a cooked breakfast one of our days.

So this place was a great surprise for is, we had the night previously stayed in another hotel that was £90 more than the room we payed for here and the Well Inn in both mine and my partners opinion was better in every aspect as we booked last minute in an emergency. The room although slightly small is comfortable, super comfy bed with extra pillows if needed, full open window and fan for those hot days, tv and refreshments with a hot and high pressured shower. Super clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming which is a rare sight when you turn up on motorbike (Pebbles the mini pup manager so dam cute). Although on the main road, it was quiet and plenty of parking. We had a great nights sleep. We were given late checkout and the manager seemed apologetic about breakfast due to some staff shortage but there was no need the breakfast was fresh and filling with a good offer of variety including nice hot pastries, cereals, yoghurts, cheese and meats, toast etc and piping hot coffee/ juices. Weve already planned to return as its close to some great spots like Glastonbury.

Nothing we love it! , however if you arriving on bike be aware the car park is gravel so can be a little slippy.

I only stayed for one night on a passing visit. The property gives the appearance of being recently refurbished and on entry opens into a lovely clean well presented bar and restaurant area. I stayed on a very hot evening and the room was very standard room but not that big and a shower and impossible to sleep. Being situated next to a bust main road with traffic passing all night. Trying to sleep with the window open, traffic and a noisy fan that was in the room made sleeping almost impossible. There was no evening meal, (Sunday night) and nowhere close by to eat. Breakfast was a self serve continental which I enjoyed, mainly because I was hungry. However the price was excellent. I do believe speaking in their favour there was/is difficulty in staff recruitment

location of the property was perfect for me near to the Shepton Showground. Lovely old building with what appeared to be a fresh refurb with feature Well in the bar area.

The double glazing does a great job of holding the road noise back to an extent but as the building runs beside the main road obviously it is noticeable. A room at the back of the building probably would be best choice but even so the noise didn’t detract from my otherwise very pleasant stay at the Well.
