Hi-Ho: A Hi-Tech Hotel

absolutely adored this place. the outside was a bit run down and scared me at first but the rooms are super clean, beautifully redone. a super value. and the attached restaurant was amazing!!!

my misconception based on the outside look of the place.

Always stay at the Hi-Ho when we visit our friends in Easton (a neighboring town). Room was very clean, bed was comfy and decor is very cute. Hotel is right next to a decent tapas restaurant. Plenty of free parking spaces. No interaction with a front desk which some might consider good (e.g. no lines, no keys). Very quiet during our Saturday night stay. Very close to good apple picking.

There is no front desk so you do need a smart phone with good cell phone service to check in. No idea we had to also check out via a link via email. No mini fridge and the tray for the coffee looked very old/chipped and needed to be replaced. I'm guessing the Nespresso machine was just for decoration because there were no instructions and didn't look like it had been used in years.

Really handy stop for our trip. Room was clean and comfortable and perfect for an overnight stay. The restaurant attached was great, food was really nice. Staff were really helpful when we had issues with the online check in process.

The online check in didn’t work well for us. We didn’t receive our confirmation on the day and without it you don’t get the code and can’t access the room. Thank goodness there was a fabulous staff member just finishing a shift so when I rang she was still around and could help us out.

Clean. Convenient. Not overly plush but comfortable bed and quiet, even in my room facing the main road.

Just a word of caution. I’m actually on the fence about the contactless entry and text/email communication. I felt very safe but they’ve done away with a front desk/lobby, so it’s individual room access a la motel- style. My room was immediately adjacent to parking which I felt very comfortable with, but some solo travelers, particularly women, might not prefer. I saw no other guests except in the parking lot and then only a very few.

I really liked to location because of the part of Connecticut I wanted to see. So for sure I liked it and would book there again. I am still getting used to the no-human interaction. All info including checking in was done by email and no person was accessed at the hotel.

It was fine. So no complaints.

The room was comfortable. I was fortunate to be on the ground floor as there is no elevator. Bathroom super nice. Impressed by the decor.

There was no extra blanket in the room. There were coffee pods but no cream or sugar or stirrer, nor any instructions. The TV was complicated and I can't imagine trying to set it up with children waiting. Neither link in my emails to checkin and checkout worked. I had to call. but fortunately there is a phone with direct access to assistance at the front door. It is important to know that there is nowhere close by to get food etc. other than a Spanish restaurant on site.

The mobile check-in was fast, easy, and straightforward. We came from Long Island, NY. So it was nice to pull in to the parking lot, park, and go ahead right into our room from there.

There was no microwave or fridge in the room. The bathroom did not have a working exhaust vent.

Convenient location off Merritt Parkway, with reasonable prices. Nothing fancy but a decent place. Have experienced few problems there during frequent stays.

Try not to be placed too close to the restaurant below (Barcelona) for noise reasons.

Cleanliness

No elevator. I am handicapped and had to climb stairs with great difficulty. Was told I had handicap room (which I presume would be first floor). In addition, the beds were very high and the mattress kept slipping off the bottom piece.

Perfect place to stop. Everything was great. Clean and cute. I liked the contactless check in but would prefer a coffee bar in the AM. Doubt it’s because of COVID and more due to staffing. With such a cheap rate, I doubt they can afford to do the breakfast scene anymore. We drove o to Fairfield and got coffee and bagels at bagel king. Would recommend
