Riviere South Beach Hotel

The art deco feel of the hotel was great. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included with our stay and the breakfast was good. Can't beat the location for a stay where you're close to EVERYTHING South Beach. Would absolutely stay here again. The value is very hard to beat. Also to note, there is a public parking garage RIGHT around the corner on 13th and the price is very reasonable for the area (we paid $20/day). It's literally at few hundred feet to walk from the garage to the hotel. If you are familiar with the scarcity of good/cheap long term parking in South Beach, then you know how much of a plus this is!

The location was excellent, just a short walk from the beach, where we had free access to one sun lounger per person at Esteban's Place. The room and hotel in general were clean, tidy and decorated to a high standard. Everyone who worked at reception was very friendly and ready to suggest activities and places to see. Guests get 10% off the restaurant and bar, just make sure to double check your bill.

The hotel is not accessible for wheelchair users. Aside from one lady, the restaurant staff were aloof and uninterested. The quality of the breakfast was hit or miss, we mostly had the pancakes and regretted ordering the scrambled eggs one morning. The sun loungers do not include the use of an umbrella, so we bought one for 30 dollars rather than rent one for 20 dollars a day.

The rooms are extremely noisy. Very poor building standard. The doors have zero sound absorption; you hear every word spoken in the aisle; and when you are close to the elevator, it goes basically through your bed acoustically.

Location is perfect. Ocean is right across the road. It will take you 2 mins to get to the beach. Ocean drive was closed so there was no cars around and you could walk around and enjoy your time. My booking included breakfast. It was from 9am till 11am in the cafe Havana 1957 right next door. You could choose from eggs/pancakes/yogurt with fruit + bacon/sausage + tea/coffee. The hotel provides you with beach towel and chair but no umbrella (didn’t need it). A room has everything you might need: safe, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion. Everything looks pretty new and modern. The design of the hotel is unique, I loved it.

The only thing was the shower. The water pressure was pretty weak so it was kinda hard to wash hair. But at the same time it’s understandable. It is like this in most big cities.

The location was perfect. Walking distance from many restaurants and not to mention across from the beach. The staff were wonderful and the decor/rooms were modest and clean. If I ever return to South Beach I will definitely be staying here.

There were some maintenance issues with the sink and the door. It appears a previous guest may have put tapioca balls down the sink which clogged it. Also during our stay the door became damaged by someone who may have attempted to get into our room. Nothing was missing and we reported it to staff.

History of Hotel should be promoted in either a brochure or in the front lobby…. Absolutely beautiful hotel!!! Loved the art deco restoration in the front lobby. Rooms were exceptionally clean and well designed …staff was courteous and polite the only mishap we had with our flatscreen TV remote was not working in our room ….a young man working at the front desk came up to our room and took the remote promising to return with a new one and never did. Other than that our stay was fantastic!!! Beautiful hotel great value across the street from the ocean!!!! Complementary breakfast was also a great perk!!!

the AC didn’t seem to work, there were times where I’m literally sweating throughout the night or waking up with nose bleeds from overheating

What I didn't like was the fact that I paid and they swiped my card 3 times like I didn't pay and threatened to put me out if they pending transaction didn't go through. Which of course it did but the embarrament of the situation.

Staff, location, breakfast and the restaurant were all great! Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful ( answered all of the questions patiently, helped me rent a car, etc.). Breakfast was very good, I liked the options offered and the vouchers system was very straightforward and well explained. Restaurant was also very good with delicious food, good choice of dishes and reasonable prices considering location. The hotel was very clean and housekeeping came every day. Beds were big and comfy. I also liked the decor which was all kept within the art deco esthetics. Overall, a great hotel, highly recommended and I would for sure come back again.

Just a small thing, but bathroom doors were weird :p thought they might fall out and it didn't fully cover the whole entrance leaving a significant gap.

Loved the location! we chose this property as we wanted to live on the viby South Beach & have access to the beach! They provide free beach beds and towels. This is a Travel Sustainable property which I personally appreciate & the property is quite honest about what they provide & what they dont. if travel sustainability is not for you then please live somewhere else. we totally knew what we were getting into. the whole point of living on South Beach is to enjoy the various restaurants & clubs and have access to the beach. The staff is polite & helpful. Overall we had a great stay!

The breakfast could have been much better. we only had breakfast at the restaurant as it was inclusive in the stay. so can’t comment on how the other meals are but they need to work on everything about their breakfast.
