Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cincinnati Southeast Newport, an IHG Hotel

Had a lovely 4 night stay here. Reception staff were warm and friendly on arrival after a stressful jouney from the UK, and continued to be helpful whenver we needed them. Bedroom (room 308) was impeccably clean, nice large bed and plenty of towels in the bathroom. Decent shower with plenty of power and hot water. Great location to get over the river for the Bengals. The $1 shuttle bus that links Newport to Covington via downtown Cincinnati every 15 minutes was a welcome surprise (it stops directly outside the hotel) - they really should mention this in the hotel facilities as it was a real bonus. Reasonable breakfast with plenty of choice.

The only thing I didn't like was the paper plates and plastic cutlery at breakfast, but that didn't spoil my stay.

The staff were the best! The lady whom cooks the breakfast deserves a raise. She cooks that food with her whole heart and soul. I could smell it on the third floor! It was busy because of the concert and the ladies at the front desk were exceptionally polite and patient. The housekeeping ladies were all friendly and polite and helpful. They all deserve a raise! Definitely will recommend and we will be back!

The pool was closed but we didn’t have time to swim much if it was but would have if it was open.

Ms. Fatima is a front desk associate who made our stay a beautiful experience. Saying that she goes above and beyond is an understatement. Fatima does not need to be an employee. Fatima needs to be in upper management she has leadership skills that will be a benefit for the entire corporation. Fatima exemplifies cross-cultural expertise that many can learn from. Thank you, Ms. Fatima, you made our families stay one to remember.

The room was exceptionally clean and stocked with everything we needed. The front desk staff, especially Benjamin and Jason, was super helpful in recommendations for food and anything extra that we needed. Breakfast was amazing and filling!!!

There would only be two, very little, complaints. The smell. Not in the room but the elevator/halls spelled funny. Almost like someone gotten sick. The second complaint, and like I said it was little, was we were there three days and the first morning A lady had come around and asked if we wanted our room serviced. We told her at that time that we did not but the NEXT day that we would like to have it serviceED (trash taken out, towels replaced, coffee replaced, ect.) We never did see any services done to the room even after we told her that we would like it serviced the second day.

Location was in the city nearby the interstate and had a lot of stores, gas stations, food, etc around. Breakfast at the hotel was plenty and good.

Latches on the doors had problems latching, including our room. The exterior doors by the pool did not lock so you could just walk in without the key card. That wasn't the worry, but when we got back from one of our outings and our daughter was able to open our room without the key card was what made us aware that we needed to double check that the door latched and locked when we left.

Breakfast as great and had a lot to choices. Used the Trolly/bus to go to Great American Ballback that cost a $1 each way and saved so much money on parking or rideshares. Will stay here again. It was a bit noisey as you can hear people above you walking around, but well worth the price. ****

Just a bit noisy, but that was minimal in the morning as people were getting up and getting ready to leave.

Location

The staff didn’t explain things like “need a razor” and other things. My flight was canceled so I stayed there for 2-days and at checkout found out about these items. Nobody advised me of these perks. I was flying up to UC and flying back the next morning so traveling light with no razor, antiperspirant etc where items not packed. They need to be taught Service Quality

I really like staying there. It is very close to a lot of places. Rooms were clean, showers hot, all the right stuff for a good stay . Party City is right down the street!

This was the most expensive hotel I have stayed at in a long time, that includes downtown Chicago. I am guessing it is the proximity to the stadium, but holy cow!

Loved the staff and location

Nothing about the hotel. My issue was with booking.com. I booked a room and had confirmation then when I got there what I booked was not available and booking.com never reached out to me about Amy issues with the room that was booked

convenient to our destination breakfast was well prepared

our room had a security issue in that the door to the room had obviously been force open with screw driver type device looking broken into multiple times. we could lock the door but never the leas it seemed to be a potential problem.
