Overall a very good hotel one of the best i have stayed at The good: Allow cats a decent 65 fee A great location close to ferett street which was a cool street to walk down Security 24 7 so felt safe when new Orleans can be sketchy A good parking lot big and spacious and surveillance all night A big clean room A good bed Had microwave and fridge Had utensils, cups, bowls plates which was nice Big shower Big shower head a great shower Very nice polite staff who were eager to help Clean hotel lobby Good ac in the room A balcony Not too far away from Bourbon street can take a quick lyft there but not by all the craziness Overall a great stay i would definitely stay here again

The bad: The shower was hard to figure out but once i did it was great Had terrible neighbors crying and screaming all day and night Small entrance way for cars so hard to pack up and leave

Room was clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly. Offsite parking is in an open lot across the street, apparently video monitored by (for?) the hotel and for the Oschner facility next door. The hotel was nice and peaceful during our stay, and we rested well in the king size bed. No real complaints. Garage parking would be an improvement, but this hotel offered good value and a seemingly safe environment.

Parking while it's raining would be a minor issue with a short walk from the lot to the front door. (There is a covered driveway for picking up and dropping off.) We were blessed with good weather throughout.

I love the location and the hotel itself! Very clean and quiet. Good neighborhood. Great staff. Clean lobby and Coffee in the morning!

I looked everywhere in N.O for a hotel with a balcony and it was hard. The only hotel with a balcony and I couldn't smoke on the balcony! I understand not smoking in the room but not smoking on the balcony was a bit much. I hated to go downstairs in my car to smoke. I was excited to get a cup of coffee and stand on the balcony with a smoke. Very disappointed. And I didn't know I could have brought my fur baby. Didn't see a post on website.

The outside doesn’t seem completely updated, but you can tell they spent money to update the inside. Loved that the closets had lights in them, the desk had a lot of space, and the parking was free, with security constantly circling. It’s right next to a hospital, but it’s behind it so there’s not much noise.

The ground around the pool area needs to have some sort of anti slip. Not sure what kind of material is there, but when I got out of the pool and was walking to get my towel, I slipped and pulled something in my neck.

The entire hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel balcony needs outside seating and you should be able to smoke on the balcony as long as you clean the area and leave no cigarette butts.

The room was clean and comfortable. We arrived in town a day early for a cruise. We found the hotel easily. Check-in was super easy and the desk clerk was very nice. We were immediately greeted by a parking lot attendant who took our information and gave us the ticket. On the way out, we ran into a DoorDash employee so we asked about good spots to eat. He recommended the Burger Company and Chicken and Watermelon. We chose the latter. It was a Wednesday night so we were able to take advantage of the wing special. Hotel was a quick trip to cruise port. Will definitely stay here again. We arrived after 8 PM but we felt super safe.

We liked everything about this hotel, from the room itself to the location to the staff. Very pleased and will book here again!

Morning staff members were very friendly and Amy was extremely helpful with assisting me with navigating my way while in town. There is a spacious free parking lot available directly across from the hotel and plenty of around the clock security provided by the hospital next door. Shops, eateries and stores are conveniently located in walking distance just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Downtown and the French Quarter are not far. The hotel was clean and surprisingly provides a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, real plates, silverware and drinking glasses in the room. There was plenty of closet and drawer space and the room provided plenty of lighting even for reading in bed. The lobby and back yard areas wrre good for hanging out, there’s and outdoor pool.

The hotel is in an unexpected location (a residential area), I thought it was closer to Downtown and the French Quarter. The hotel did not have any room service for ordering food, they did not offer breakfast, due to Covid, cleaning service was only available every 3 days and I asked fora receipt upon check and was told that I could and would not receive a receipt. The balcony area was rather unsightly but okay to sit out on to take in the view of mostly the rooftop of the surrounding homes (just wish they had some patio chairs for guest to sit in white out there).

They have security 24 hrs.,and very safe to walk. Everything is in walking distance. Overall,I give them 2 thumbs up,

The Alder is a fabulous hotel located in a pleasant area just outside the city centre. A ten minute stroll down Napoleon av. takes you to the tram stop for the St Charles av. route into the city. The walk down Napoleon felt very safe even at night. The free parking at the Alder was a huge bonus and very welcome and it could potentially save you almost $40 a night compared to other hotel's parking charges. Everything about the hotel was good, the room size, the view, the facilities and the service on reception was outstanding. Every single person on the desk was helpful and curteous. A special mention must go to Amy who is an absolute star! She gave us so much advice and was a mine of information! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we return to N.O.

A hot breakfast choice might be preferred by some guests. This is not such a big deal though as Freret street is only a couple of blocks away where you have multiple eateries to choose from.
