I think the hotel is a good value given the price and location. Staff was responsive and kind especially Haitie.

The only issues were the poor wifi, men loitering outside the hotel, and a slight odor in the room.

Convenient to the metro, (Van Ness)& the DC University Great staff, especially Gloria, Nora,Marcus & a wonderful man who was cleaning up the property outside & saw I was struggling to get my suitcase in the car & helped me & asked if he could help with anything else accommodating, friendly, professional, totally excellent! The beds were very comfortable , many pillows, room was a good size, & very clean. If you want a refrigerator you have to reserve one it costs 15$/night but it also comes with a microwave ( the refrigerator was the coldest refrigerator I have ever used in a hotel, the best. The price can’t be beat for being so close to DC proper . The parking is 25$/night which is a steal for hotel parking in a big metropolitan city. After 6:30 pm on a Saturday night until Monday morning the meters are free. It’s a quiet, safe neighborhood closes early. We really loved our stay here

I got a good deal on Booking.com, so I felt the price was very good. But when I read previous reviews about Days Inn at Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue, I became worried that it would be a dismal experience. Nonetheless I was pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious and clean room, with sparkling white beddings, a very comfortable bed, great atmosphere and very clean towels. The room did not have all the bells and whistles, but it met every basic need for a one-night stay. The staff were amazing! I don't like elevators, and the staff accommodated my request for a room on a lower floor. But because there was no staircase to use. I still had to use the elevator. When I had issues with using the room card to operate the elevator, one of the staff kindly came to help me. When I needed water and could not find any in the vending machine, one of the staff gave me her own unopened bottle of water. They were simply terrific in attending to guests.

The major issues I had were the lack of a staircase and noise from the people in the next room that truncated my sleep several times in the night. I believe the room walls are not soundproof, because I could hear their conversations almost clearly.

I had to make a lightening trip to DC from Chicago in order to submit a visa application for an upcoming trip abroad. No hotels were really convenient to "my" embassy on Mass Ave, but this Days Inn was close enough and (while nothing close to a bargain) significantly cheaper than any of the alternatives. (I had stayed before at the other hotel I considered north of Dupont Circle, and it was a bit fancier but also $60 more per night. Everything else was over $200 before taxes, in some cases a lot more.) I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The staff members were really friendly (and very patient with the numerous foreign visitors), my room was clean and comfortable, the hotel was easy to reach from National Airport via the Metro's Blue and Red Lines, and the surrounding area was lively (during the day) and safe. Right next to the UDC/Van Ness Metro station is a CVS and a Giant grocery store. I would consider staying here for a leisure visit.

The hotel is expensive for a Days Inn, but, as noted, a deal compared to the others within striking distance of Embassy Row. There are several decent restaurants and a wonderful bakery within a five-minute walk of the hotel, but DC rolls up the sidewalks pretty early. During the week, in any case, it wasn't easy to find anything open (including the hotel's restaurant/lounge) after 9:00 p.m.

Room was very clean and comfortable. There was a very clear laminated TV channel listing. Checkout was quick and easy. Parking was convenient and at a reasonable cost. Location is good for the zoo, Rock Creek Park and the National Cathedral. Connecticut Avenue has good bus and metro service.

Registration was very slow because of having only one person checking in guests in the afternoon. There was no signage over the main entrance door and none at the side doors, so it was hard to figure out how to get in to check in without walking around from the parking lot to the front door. The lobby restroom had a combination lock that even a staff person could not get to work. Water flow in the shower was a bit limp.

Liked the location and easy parking

I did not like the strong noise in the room on the 6th floor. The air conditioning and ventilation system in the room worked only at maximum speed. With the window open, there is a lot of noise from the street from the general ventilation, so there was always a lot of noise in the room, and at a temperature of 32-34 degrees outside, I would not want to sleep in a room with the air conditioner turned off and the windows closed. Repair air conditioners and reduce noise levels.

The location is just great! The price is amazing for being able to reach the center of city in about 30 minutes by train. The room is old, but not as bad as other reviews say. I don't like to clean my room every day, so it was great that cleaning was by request only. There are several places to eat nearby, a supermarket and a drugstore.

WiFi needs improvement. I think it is a major disadvantage in the modern times that WiFi does not connect properly. It would have been better if there was a refrigerator in the room.

The room was quite clean and beyond my expectation. Heating was strong for my stay. The bed is comfortable. There are a few eateries nearby. Supermarket Giant is 1 block away. Metro station is 1.5 block away. The neighborhood is safe.

The hotel should enforce no smoking policy. There is a strong smell of weed in the corridor outside the room. Would be nice to have a mini-fridge or microwave, but understand that it is just a wish.

Having stayed here on numerous occasions, I am always impressed by the consistency of good service -- that makes a difference. It is also well positioned to the METRO, a supermarket, CVS and a few local restaurants, which is perfect for a business trip. It is also very quiet, even when it's busy.

I wish the complimentary morning coffee station were back, but fully understand why services like that have not returned after ending in the early days of the pandemic. Something else that I experienced here, and in many accommodations since the widespread legalization of marijuana, frankly, was an overwhelming scent of it coming from the smoking rooms. Given that marijuana smoke is particularly pungent, and tends to cling to clothing, linens, etc., I think that if smoking is allowed in the building, all rooms and common access areas need to be retrofitted with proper, modern air filtration systems. I have recently stayed at a total no-smoking hotel and the experience was so pleasant that I am thinking more about this these days.

This is an older hotel that was very clean and comfortable. Quiet too considering it was on Connecticut Avenue, NW. Great bakery next door and car wash (if you need it). VERY convenient to the Metro Red Line. Staff was helpful and the location will get you anywhere you want to go in DC.

Just wish it was updated. It is old. If you’re used to more modern chain hotels, you will be disappointed. Look past the age of the hallways and rooms and you will find a very good and clean operation.
