The location is a dream, and the actual building and the stay are just as highly rated. Breakfast was delicious, extra accommodations were offered and made when necessary (with the entire stay too, not just breakfast). I couldn’t believe how clean the room and the whole property was. It was quiet and welcoming, and Linda (the owner) was such an exceptional host. She was so friendly and responsive and so wonderful to talk to. I used to live in New Bern, but after having come back to visit after four years, I truly picked the best spot to stay! I will definitely be booking here again for my next trip into town!

Location, room, Inn Keeper and Staff, and the breakfast and goodies set out to enjoy during the stay was excellent. Linda, the Inn Keeper made her guest feel very at home. You felt comfortable and safe in her establishment. At breakfast you can sit alone or join others which I did and met some wonderful people. Linda gave great suggestions for things you could enjoy during the day and place to eat. I took the History Trolly Tour and so grateful I did. Wish i could have stayed 2-3 more days to take in all the sites and History that are in New Bern and continue to enjoy the lovely accommodations.

What a wonderful 3-day getaway we had at the Meadows Inn! Linda, the owner, was the perfect hostess and her lovely inn is centrally located in the beautiful little town of New Bern. We were able to walk to all of the tourist attractions and lovely restaurants Linda so kindly recommended. Thanks for everything, Linda…especially your yummy breakfasts!

A great place to stay. Our expectations were exceeded! The historic inn is very well maintained. The innkeeper Linda is a lovely person. She prepares a fantastic breakfast, the best we ever had in the US! There is a pub next door. The location is perfect for exploring historic New Bern by step. If we return to New Bern we'll definitely stay in Meadows Inn.

We just had two days.

Breakfast and location could not have been better. The house itself was was historically beautiful and interesting. However, the best thing about Meadows Inn was Linda, the owner. As well as being a great and accessible resource, Linda made us feel genuinely welcome and at home. She creates a great environment for all her guests to connect and interact- that was an unexpected gift!

The only thing I would have liked was a softer/thinner pillow. Will bring my own next time, as we definitely will be coming back!

Lovely well kept inn in a great location we left our car and were able to walk everywhere Linda was an excellent host and made scrumptious breakfast every single day as well as having wine and water available for the guests.

There wasn't one thing I did not like! We will definitely plan to stay again on our next visit to New Bern

Linda met us on arrival - quick check in and showed us to our room which was beautiful. She made herself available for questions and also offered to accommodate our time to eat breakfast. We did not have breakfast since our schedule was packed but it smelled wonderful. We did take advantage of the complimentary sodas, bottled waters and yummy cupcakes in the dining room. Location is perfect. In the heart of historic New Bern

Nothing we didn’t like

Everything was perfect! From the cozy room to the friendly staff to the exceptional breakfast, we couldn’t have asked for more! The Inn itself was very well kept and Linda filled us in on the history of the building and why certain rooms had special names relating to local historical figures. The breakfasts were wonderful (although we left early on our last day and didn’t get a chance to enjoy the handmade goodness!) and you can tell that Linda takes great pride in serving spectacular meals. There were also fresh baked goods available all day during our stay. The location is ideal for exploring historic downtown New Bern. We parked our car the first day and didn’t reach for our keys until we left to go home! Tryon Palace, the birthplace of Pepsi store, and plenty of great restaurants are within comfortable walking distance. There’s even a pub next door that serves food and drinks until 10pm if you need a late night beer or sandwich. We will definitely be returning!

The Inn was built in the 1800s, so expect thin walls and some off-kilter doors. Other than those minor annoyances, this is a well kept historical building.

The breakfast was presented like a 5 star restaurant. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the room had great water pressure. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do in New Bern. Our stay was great and exceeded our expectations.

This was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast and the Meadows Inn was amazing. No complaints.

The location is perfect, walking distance to pretty much everything. We reserved the top floor for our family of 4, including 2 children (ages 17 & 10). The setup was perfect for a family. Breakfast was delicious. Afternoon hors d’oeuvres/wine was also delicious. We looked forward to seeing what the afternoon treat was. They even accommodated my gluten free diet. When we had to head home I felt a bit tearful because the staff was so sweet & accommodating. The really felt like they became family in just 3 days! Most definitely would recommend.

It would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room, but not really a problem since there is a community refrigerator downstairs that is available.
