Westward Inn

The check-in process was straightforward and Rich was very helpful and accommodating. Although there was a coffee maker in our room, on request Rich provided us with a kettle. An Englishman does like his tea in the morning. There was plenty of hot water for showering and the shower was had a decent water pressure too. There was no shortage of towels either. There were plenty of options for breakfast snacks close by (our favourites were Starbucks in the Fred Meyer supermarket across the street and we highly recommend the Bell & Whistle Coffee House down at the harbour).

Room was clean and quiet, coffee was replenished when I asked, staff was pleasant and accommodating. I liked being able to open my window for fresh air and the AC unit worked well. Located close to Chetco River and harbor and great swimming holes at Loeb State Park a few miles up the river.

Bathroom caulking around tub looked like window caulking that was all cracked And terrible looking, shower and tub fixtures were loose and tub was grimy looking. Hard to get the water shut off with the old tub fixture. No Mat or rug by the bed to wipe sand off my feet and no broom to sweep up any sand brought in that was stuck to shoes.

Rich at the front desk was considerate enough to call when we were running late due to the dark, windy roads we weren't used to. He stayed late to help us check in, told us where we could buy firewood (for a friend's nearby campsite), and helped us with everything we needed. The rooms themselves were clean (we REALLY appreciated having the laminate floors), and the towels and sheets were bleached within an inch of their life. It's a great value for the money in the area. The pillows and beds were comfy, the TV worked *perfectly*, and the hotel really is in a good location for exploring the Pacific Coast.

The smell of bleach in our rooms was a bit overwhelming, we would have preferred vinyl/non-fabric chairs for sanitary reasons, and an upgrade to shower doors vs. shower curtains would go along way towards keeping the property clean and guests safe (especially with monkeypox now floating about and sticking to surfaces).

It is well located and a good value. It is always clean and the staff is excellent.

We stay here all the time and haven’t had any problems. This past trip, our shower was broken, every attempt was made to fix it but it required more time. Although it was inconvenient, we needed to move to another room. To make up for this, they put us in their nicest room and refunded us for that night. they did their best to make it right and we very much appreciate that.

Stayed 2 nights solo for pleasure, first night the people(firefighters, lots of forest fires in the area) above me came home late and with the boots on it was very very loud and woke me up. Spoke to manager who switched my room to one that didn’t have bunch of firefighters staying above me for the second night and all was good!

It was fine. Well marked room numbers. Ice was in an easy to get to location. Loved the potted plants all around. Office was a bit small, but it looked like it was being made larger.

The steps up from the parking lot to the room could be better marked. The steps/walkway are grey. There are 2 steps- a regular one snd a short one. It would be great to mark with red the edge of the step.

It was a good location, clean and maintained outside and decorated with lots of outdoor plants. Bedding and towels good quality, beds were comfortable.

Carpet was dirty, but the rest of the room was good. It's an older hotel and showing its wear inside. We were checking in late on a Sunday. Most everything around us for food was closed. We did get Mexican across from the hotel, but they close at 9 pm.

Room was clean and simple. the bed needs a NEW mattress . I was sleeping in a valley. The information folder was excellent and was helpful

The mattress was below standard and the flowers by the door looked sad. You need to maintain them too. A nice touch but lacked love.

This was a quiet, clean room and the bed was comfortable! The front desk staff, Krystal in particular, greeted me with a smile and was quick to suggest a seafood restaurant for lunch. It was delicious. Though I arrived well ahead of check-in time, Krystal was successful in getting the room ready for me by the time I returned from lunch. After a 7 hour drive, that was greatly appreciated. Extras kudos to the housekeeping staff for the outstanding cleanliness of the room. There were ample towels, soaps, shampoos, etc. I would definitely stay here again.

Good place to stay for night. Pretty central, walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants. Good value for money. Short taxi ride ($8 flat rate) to the marina with some really good restaurants and pubs. Easy to navigate the town.

Nothing to not like here unless you have exaggerated expectations.
