Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Harborcreek

This is our second stay here, as we just stayed here last month. Once again, we had, Jarrod, (I think that is his name), check us in and check us out. He is so friendly and accommodating. For a couple, this place is great, it was quiet and is a basic hotel for everything we needed. especially since we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel until the evening. kids many be a little bored as the only entertainment for them is the pool. The hotel room is homey, clean, and the breakfast is pretty good for being included (bagels, muffins, scrambled eggs, waffle maker, sausage, etc.). There was plenty of parking and once again we enjoyed sitting on the back patio, behind the pool, in the evening. It was quiet and peaceful. The location is away from all the noise and traffic, but also isn't too far from Peach St area where everything is. We didn't swim this time, but we did check out the pool and the water was nice and warm, an improvement from last time. This is the place we plan to stay at whenever we go to Erie, I highly recommend.

Our only little complaint was, I think the person on the night shift didn't stock everything for breakfast, as we ran out of yogurt, creamer, forks, coffee, etc...I felt bad for Jerrod because he just came on shift and was running around stocking everything since everyone was asking for things. He never complained, was still very friendly, and had everything stocked up in no time.

We arrived way early than check in time and the person that was at the desk was nice enough to let us go to our room, since it was ready. Everything was clean, bed was comfy, it was nice and quiet, breakfast was good, they had sausage, bagels, eggs, waffle maker, Danish, yogurt, cereal. The eating area was small, but it wasn't busy so it was fine. It was a beautiful evening, so we did not want to sit in the hotel room, so we sat in the sitting area outside in the back, with an electric firepit, (unfortunately they did not have the tank in it yet), though. Only complaint was the pool was freezing and it looked like it had a film, like the chemicals needed to be adjusted. All the stuff was very friendly. and would always ask if we needed anything. I thought it was a great value for the money, and it wasn't too far of a drive from Peach St and all the stores, but far enough away that it was quiet,

The pool was cold and the juice at breakfast seemed like it was too concentrated and needed more water to be added.

Very clean place and friendly staff! Biggest plus is that it is pet friendly! Air conditioner worked great! Biggest plus was that it is pet friendly!! The location was convenient to many things and is situated on a nice lot with some grass for our dogs and a wooded area next to it.

There was no elevator for the second floor. Also the pet fee was not mentioned on booking.com, check the hotel’s website so you are prepared.

The young man checking us in exceeded our expectations - anticipating and efficiently answering every question one could have. The room was very clean! How often can you walk around on the carpet in a hotel room with white socks and have them show not even a hint of dirt. I can't do that in our house. The cleaning staff clearly pay attention to details. As others have said, the wifi is excellent. The breakfast had a good variety with some different items on each of the 3 mornings of our stay. The location was well suited to our needs. Be aware that there's no restaurants within walking distance. However, you only need to drive a few minutes for restaurants, a big grocery store, and all the local attractions. This hotel is a great base to explore the area and is an outstanding value!

We cannot think of any negative comments about the hotel or staff.

Breakfast was a bit above average. The coffee station was very small, but quite nice, having flavored creams was a pleasant surprise, and enjoyable.

It was hotter than Hell in the lobby/breakfast area!! Staff didn't clean the, very few, tables after people had finished. Luckily it was a beautiful morning, and we waited till others moved from the few chairs that were outside. It was way too hot to sit inside. We were not able to use the pool because it was too crowded, and filthy!

Room for the most part was clean. AC/Heat worked very well. TV was a nice size (guessing 42 or 46-in). Bed was fairly comfortable (a bit soft but OK). Pillows were a bit thin but OK. Shower was at a very good height (the shower head was probably at 6 feet) and the water stream (fairly wide coverage) and water pressure was good. Room did not smell musty at all. Stairwells smelled great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Furnishing were all in good shape. Coffee maker, microwave & fridge all worked well. Parking easy and plentiful. Fairly quiet (didn't hear too much from neighboring rooms unless folks were really loud ... the doors do make a lot of noise in the morning). Good wi-fi (was able to work some from the room during my stay). Breakfast: sausage was good (the links especially). The little muffins were good. Thought the coffee was good.

The toilet bowl did not appear to have been cleaned well before check in. As everything else was clean, may have been just a one-time oversight. Was not gross, just noticeable. The shower would sometimes have a noticeable change in temperature at times. The breakfast, while nice to have, could only be rated as so-so. The eggs were not all that great. No fruit except apples (not even bananas). And there was no yogurt on a couple of mornings.

We are full time RV'ers and our motorhome was being fixed. We were upset about how long it took. Staying here was the silver lining. We felt like we were with family. It was wonderful, the room was comfortable and clean. I can't say enough about the staff and how they made us feel at home. From the manager, the people behind the desk, the cleaning staff and everyone, friendly and always checking to see if we need anything. We couldn't wait to get back on the road, but it was sad to say goodbye to such great people.

We loved everything here, but we were on the first floor. With no elevator, we could never stay on the second floor. It needs an elevator. I’ve since had a problem. They changed my credit twice for the same days. We needed to add on 2 days. When I told them they said they would put a hold on our room with the credit card. When I checked out, they charged me again. I disputed the second charge and they sent paperwork showing we stayed there. Now I’m disputing the first charge. Both have the same dates. I did call them to fix this but, no one called me back. Then I got the manager, when I called again, he said he didn’t see the first charge. I told him it’s on my credit card. Now, I liked all the people there but I don’t trust any of them.

Keke at check in was very sweet and helpful. We had our dog with us and were in a room close to a door to take her out. There was plenty of room. The area surrounding the hotel was quiet and we had a good walk/run through the very close Penn state campus across the road.

Breakfast was not great. Not that it bothered us but the pool was closed for maintenance and I heard from other families that they were there with kids for a hockey tournament. I’m sure they wished the pool was open. Also the jacuzzi tub right in the room seems outdated. I would have rather had more room than a big tub in the room.

Nice bed, quiet room. Slept well. Good desk and chair. But with two people in a room, a second seating option should be in the room. The room had plenty of room for a small arm chair.

Breakfast. The first two mornings we were there the eggs were cold and and dried out. Good thing there was waffles. Told the girl behind the desk and she got more but it took quite awhile. Both mornings she seemed more interested in her book then keeping up with the breakfast bar. Onthe third morning a different girl at desk and she seemed much more attentive and the eggs were not dried out unfortunately they had no sausage taht morn but biscuts and gravy which I do not care for.

It appears that my problem was with booking.com, not the motel. I noted when I was making my reservations that I was traveling with a well-behaved dog. The response was that was fine and there was no additional charge. When I checked in, my dog was “welcome” but for an additional $25. ($26.50) and was truly only welcome if 30 pounds or less. I would not have taken the dog if I had been given good information.
