Embassy Suites Houston - Downtown

Everything about my stay was really good, except the parking it sucked and I mean I’ve never had to park my car far at a parking garage and walk all my stuff to the hotel that’s my only complaint that the parking is bad.

Location to downtown Houston was excellent across the road from Toyota Center and 5-10 minute walk to convention center and minute maid park ( we went to our first ever baseball game and it was so convenient ) , room size is more than adequate for 3 adults . Breakfast area never felt too busy and the evening reception was the best of the three Embassy suites we stayed in on this trip .

Nothing specific against this hotel but it was the third ES we stayed in between 3rd and 15th of August 2023 and the breakfast and evening reception got a little bit repetitive ( Houston had the best and varied evening reception ) . Rooms have a little bit of a 70s vibe

Loved the location. It was a walk away from our main event at the Toyota Center. Breakfast had a good selection! Everything we planned was fairly close to the hotel!

There was a lot of construction going on outside of the hotel and we were on the direct side of it. You have to use valet which is an extra charge. My room was nice but definitely not fully clean. Also the bathroom door is horrible. It's a sliding door with no lock and it didn't fully close there was a noticeable gap. Doesn't feel secure especially if staying with friends or kids.

The rooms are very spacious and very comfortable. The location of the hotel ideal for us as a business trip with dealings in Houston Downtown. I wouldn't recommend it if you travel for holidays. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

I had trouble with WiFi, ended up using my phone as hotspot. The decor is a bit old fashioned, but I imagine that's the case for most hotels in the area. The rooms were only cleaned for stays over 5 nights, or upon request with a day in advance this was bit annoying, although all facilities were very clean.

The location was excellent. We were in walking distance to many clubs and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious. The evening reception was good., But I don't drink. My friends loved it.

They might consider adding desserts or something during the evening reception for those who do not drink. However, the chips, salsa and veggies were good. We hated the barn door for the bathroom. Did not stay closed.

They will drive you to and from venues for dinner within a close distance of the city in a really nice vehicle - this was a lovely touch - Brandon was fab! You can’t beat this location for basketball or baseball (we didn’t go to either but was nice to be able to walk to the stadiums for a look). Rooms were quite big for a party of x5. Breakfast was also really awesome!

Probably a little pricey for a one night stop over.

water pressure in the shower was low unless I wanted it scalding hot. Sink in the bar area needed the aerator clean. Every time I used it I sprayed water all over the counter and myself.

Location was perfect, construction was annoying. Valet very attentive and efficient. Reception was very polite, helpful. Some noisy guests but security was visible every time we came and went. Room spacious, comfortable, quiet. Breakfast area was beautiful, natural light and well stocked. Very nice options.

Middle elevator made some pretty sketchy noises. Was the main elevator that responded.

Location

Outdated, dirty, when turning on the shower pipes rattled as if an old apartment. The bath floor had a disgusting stain. Al furniture seemed old and on the downside. It was a sad experience after having enjoyed many different Embassy Suites for many years. The staff was great but it felt as if they were trying to salvage an already sunken ship.

Breakfast was great.Location couldn't be better.

I don't like the sliding barn type door in the bathroom. I understand it makes for decent wheelchair accessibility,but a door that slides into a hollow wall cavity would be much better.As is,the door leaves a gaping space between toilet and living room!! No visual or acoustical privacy!! Very poor design choice.Otherwise,the room and overall hotel design is quite lovely and comfortable.staff is courteous ,friendly and helpful! Breakfast was yummy and bartender Rosie at happy hour makes great vodka cocktails.p.s.perhaps it's due to covid,but I miss hotel stationary and pens.Providing name brand teas(ie.Constant Comment),popcorn,and hot chocolate in a room basket would have been much appreciated....along with plastic spoons instead of stir sticks.oh well.
