Hyatt Place Houston Downtown

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple (a good thing) and satisfying. The location was great in that we could walk to the aquarium and Minute Maid Park and ride the metro train to the zoo and natural science museum. The room was good enough to accommodate me, my wife, sister and her husband.

I know prices of everything including lodging has gone up but this was the most expensive place I ever stayed at but it was better than some of the others we could have chosen. Couch in the room was not that comfortable and hot water was a long time coming if first in the shower.

Location was great, view was amazing from 14th floor, spotless clean, organized, comfortable and safe environment. Conveniently close to my event.

encountered trouble with first staff at check in. I booked and paid for a city view room and he was checking me into the 2nd floor. He told me there were no more rooms available. Other employee overheard, stepped in, and immediately checked me in to my city view room. The female Bar tender was not very helpful, When I requested a drink menu, she pointed out to the tables and told me every table should have one and to go look. I told her no menu's were available at any table. She found on sitting at the bar and handed that to me.

The room was very small for the price. The staff never told us how to get your car for Valet, we arrived at the hotel, and there was no valet guy available. No one offered any help or anything. They seemed poorly trained. Our room faced an inside patio with no view, and only one working window was very dark. Dark and oh so small. I paid $317 for that tiny room, yet on the hotel site, they offer a room 200 sf bigger for $265 only. Made no sense, but we had a commitment that evening, so we had no time or energy to argue. It was a bit disappointing. At least give us a bright room with a nice view.. nothing. Won't be going there again, there's always the Magnolia or the Whitehall for the same price and at least you get a nice view and bright room.

The room was very clean, staff was nice and accommodating and location was perfect to Minute Maid Stadium. Breakfast provided in the morning was top tier!

The staff did not know about my approved late check out in their system. I had got a message through booking app messages where the hotel confirmed my check out at 1PM instead I got an aggressive knock at 1240pm asked when I was going to leave. I did not like it because I was under the impression they knew I was checking out at 1pm. So please booking make sure message gets through to staff software system about confirmed messages through booking and Hyatt. Thanks

Location was good. View from the lounge was outstanding!! My room really had no view,but I was on 16th floor in 1608(and thank you to the GM,& staff for honoring my request to be up there). Beautiful hotel,wonderful staff& outstanding amenities. Best night I have ever had in over 20 years alone. This hotel is the epitome of elite hospitality & I will choose Hyatt all day,everyday.

Nothing....5 stars....the magnolia could learn a few things from you guys.

It was convenient to where we were going. Staff was great

No pool. I should have looked but I didn’t think to for didn’t think there wouldn’t be one. Will look now. The other thing was they said 24 hour eatery. You are limited at certain times even in middle of day. One evening at 930, I asked the front desk if eatery was open and was told yes. Went upstairs to the 16th floor to be told it was closed. Not major issues but did want to notate.

very clean, modern decor, comfortable and the distance to various restaurants is literally walking distance! very convenient! the breakfast was good as well! please add potatoes to the menu!!! that will take the rating from good to great! but overall really good!

it takes the hot water about 10 minutes to get to the top floor. turning it on and doing something else, that time will go by quickly!

It was centrally located in downtown area. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, for tourist like us. The hotel is quaintly decorated in tele communication theme, giving it a very vintage, hotel Cortez vibe! The room was clean and organized. I liked the couch so much I attempted to find it on google! nice beds, comfy linens that kept me warm enough, even when the rest of my family keeps the ac to morgue. The 24 hour attendant was very helpful when my daughter had a sore throat and we couldn’t locate a nearby drugstore. Great (lowest price) place to stay in a very high end metropolitan area.

For a family of 5 it was difficult to get washed up with only one private area. Meaning, the bathroom was also the only place to change clothes, wash up, brush teeth. A change curtain would’ve even been useful! With teenagers modesty is a huge deal! A tiny kitchenette would’ve been marvelous!

I liked the updated modern feel and look. It was comfortable. Everyone was very nice and answered all of our questions. The snack bar and coffee shop were nice. Breakfast was good except for the eggs. Seemed like powdered eggs. And the bar upstairs had great food, good views of the city and great bartenders and servers. When one of our drinks didnt taste right, he redid it.

The staff was very kind and always offering help with some needs we had. We faced some issue with the room and they offered me to change rooms immediately, no making excuses or giving me a hard time instead, I'm really appreciated it. The place was very clean and quiet (wich I'm thankful for) and the breakfast area did it good with the COVID restrictions wich was one of my concerns. I had a great experience with this hotel, totally recommended it.

Hot food at breakfast hadn't many options to choose from but it was very understandable because the present COVID restrictions.
