Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town

The primary reason for staying at your facility is the location, its walking distance to Old Town and well as the Metro station. Second would be the complimentary breakfast/happy hour. Your staff at the front desk have always been outstanding and attentive.

Hire bartenders that are more courteous and know how to make a drink. I'm referring to simple common drinks, not complicated ones. The room itself had some minor issues. The refrigerator couldn't be adjusted and food and drink kept freezing. It would have been nice to have a bathroom fan to help with the steaming issue from a shower, which would help control the mildew odor. Evident with the damage over the vanity area ceiling. The curtains in both windows within the bedroom were torn from wear-n-tear.

Great food in the hotel's atrium lounge/restaurant. Very good free breakfast, and had a great burger for dinner. We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite, which was very nice and spotlessly clean. The hotel is popular with families. so a bit of noise from kids outside, but our room was perfectly quiet inside. We drove, but the location is right next to a metro station. Also, we rode the free trolley (picks you up at the metro stop) and takes you to the Old Town Alexandria waterfront. From there, we took the water taxi over the Potomac to National Harbor, where we rode the giant Ferris Wheel. Fun!

The underground parking garage (right next door to the hotel) is complicated. We parked on the first level, and then couldn't get out that entrance when our stay was over. The gate would not open when we used our room key, and there was no help on the help box. It took 15 minutes of trial and error before we discovered that most hotel guests park on the second level, and you then have to exit from there. I wish they had valet service for car parking, or at least car retrieval. But at least next time we will avoid this hassle by parking on the second level.

We love Embassy Suites for their nice, clean and comfortable accommodations. And of course we love the evening reception of free drinks and snacks and the made to order breakfast in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great with the metro across from the hotel and restaraunts nearby and was a convenient 20 minutes from sightseeing in DC. There is also a decent little gym and indoor pool.

The A/C wasn't working to its full potential, however we called maintenance and they promptly showed up, made an adjustment to it (it was pulling in outside air) and the issue was quickly resolved. The indoor pool was very small and the room not to well ventilated, but none the less if you want to swim there is a pool.

Upon arrival every one of the staff was welcoming and helpful! From giving directions on the Marta to offering us an umbrella while we were out, they were magnificent! The bartender was generous and the food (both dinner and breakfast) was delicious and great service. The facility was clean throughout and the pool lifeguard was fun but firm about the rules which made me relaxed! Definitely a great pick!

There's nothing I can say I didn't like! However, if you're one that does not like line be sure to get there early for courtesy drinks and breakfast!

Breakfast and happy hour were absolutely superb, great start to the day and great welcome after walking the legs off ourselves to come back to a cocktail! The staff were lovely: e.g. a guy on reception on our first day was very helpful in showing me where to find a pharmacy, i.e. he left his station and walked out to the back entrance and showed me exactly where to go, a waitress at happy hour (I think originally from Ethiopia) was extremely friendly and showed great customer care as did the Irish barman. All staff were warm and welcoming.

I booked a double suite which to my mistake I thought meant a two bedroom suite so it was a bit on the tight side for 6 of us (2 parents, 4 big children - 13 to 23 years of age). The double beds in the bedroom were very comfy but unfortunately the fold-out sofa mattress is not great - not a huge problem but if you could rectify this over time it would make a huge difference to the larger family such as ourselves. The room was spotlessly clean and really comfortable but I think a lighter colour flooring and a re-thinking of the lighting in the inner room would make a big difference to the rooms, these are small issues as we genuinely had a lovely stay in your hotel.

The room was excellent , plenty of room a great big bed and a great view. The breakfast was top notch and couldn't have been any better( perfect selections)!

The only thing I didn't Ike was that the toilet in the bathrooms are so low it feels like you are sitting on the ground. Very hard for someone with a bad leg and back! Also paying $25 a night for parking is a little much, but I understand because of how the parking situation is.

The last time I a problem with a guy that works the bar area and again I had a problem with him tall Black guy. I purchased the parking with food voucher and he told me that they had to give me a ticket from the front desk I in order for me to use it…the couple sitting next to me said that they had the same thing and he told them they didn’t have a ticket either but he quickly took care of the problem. I guess they gave him a big tip like the last time.

great location. Near cvs, whole foods, bars and restaurants and best of all the Meteo is just in front of the hotel. For the price and convenience it's all worth it with free buffet breakfast and made to order breakfast..We had a great stay. I will book again and since it's pet friendly, I would bring my pet next time.The rooms are so big too.

complimentary drinks are only up to 7pm. With the price of the hotel, parking should be free.

Great size room for your money. Decor was nice. Room was very clean. Nice breakfast included with your stay. complimentary drinks for happy hour. Friendly staff at this hotel.

We didn't like facing the construction work and being awakened by the noise in the morning but we stayed during a work week.

This hotel is very close to the trolley, metro and other fun places to visit. It’s in walking distance to Whole Foods and CVS. Breakfast is made to order and complimentary. Happy Hour had more options than other hotels I’ve stayed with complimentary drinks. The rooms are a good size for a family. It is close to trains but you couldn’t hear anything. My kids liked how fast the elevators were. Property was clean and staff friendly.

Worst internet service ever! Guests can’t access any streaming apps to cast on the TVs in the room. The cable kept closing signals. I was happy we packed some cards and Uno.
