Hampton Inn & Suites Alexandria Old Town Area South

Clifton greeted us cheerily and efficiently while juggling requests coming at him from all directions. He is truly an asset and does a commendable job. I did not catch the name of the women working the desk upon checkout but she was wonderful as well. The breakfast crew did a great job keeping food and coffee supplied while keeping the tables and the breakfast area clean. Kudos to them!

The lack of ingredient labels or descriptions of the foods at breakfast. Made it impossible to determine whether the food/omelettes had alergens or ingredients one may not wish to consume, ie meats which vegetarians would not wish to eat. The heating/cooling unit in our room was very noisy. Had to shut it off to sleep.

I arrived very late but it was still effeienct parking in front of the hotel. The Hostess was very Professional welcomed me and in my mind moved quickly to have my reservation completed so I could go bed. The next morning from a short night the breakfast setting was neat and easy to follow. Checking out was a breeze and service was above and beyond. Thanks

Not the hotels fault but the flights not departing on time. I was coming from Las Vegas was hopeing to be at the hotel at 2pm and arrived about 11pm. Having such a night room for a short period of time sucked.

I received a room within the quiet section of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of clean towels to use. The bathroom was clean. The temperature of the room was comfortable upon entry. The general state of the room was clean. Praiacy/blackout shade was available on the window.

Adjoining door to room next door. Not being from the area, it was frustrating to locate the access drive to the hotel during the evening time at the end of rush hour (6:00 PM). Need signage to be directed to the access driveway/access road from Highway 1.

I like the way the customer service help with checking in and I like the way the workers made us feel like we was at home. The breakfast they service was excellent and delicious and everything was clean. Our room was superior and clean and we had everything we needed to feel like our home. All the services from the workers was very excellent and would rate the hotel a 💯 and I will recommend this hotel to all my family and friends to stay at. Keep up the good job. We left there very happy and we enjoyed our stay very well.

The location was great! The room size was great having the kids have elbow room and have their own space to move around instead of being on top of each other.

Cleaning - Stayed for 4 Nights and I had asked to have the room cleaned after the second night (towels, beds, bathroom, vacuum floor), unfortunately, even though I was out ALL day, by the time we got back around 9pm, they had MISSED cleaning - hmmmm! Was someone not paying attention because they were visiting with another staff member when it was asked of them to do so? Breakfast - waiting with no exaggeration at least 20 min if not longer to make "A" waffle and unfortunately there were 2 ladies (guests) at the machines all that time and making one waffle after the next, and next and next piling up a tower of 10 and still going when I finally frustrated left the establishment because I had to get to the airport. The staff on duty did not do anything about it!

Since the Era of COVID-19 (began) it seems it’s difficult to get good customer service almost anywhere you go.. BUT this hotel was AMAZING! The staff was courteous, friendly, and attentive. The property is beautiful and well managed, clean. The best part of all, was our room was ready when we arrived (just a bit earlier than check in) AND it was actually clean. Location: It is right off the highway, but our window faced the highway and it was fairly quiet, we could only hear a few sirens. That being said, it was super convenient to pull off the highway, park my car for the weekend and Uber back and forth into DC and surrounding areas as needed. Felt safe, as there was a little one traveling. When we return to the area, we will absolutely remember this hotel!

some things could use some updating- such as the heaters in (our room anyways). but for the price, this place was absolutely perfect so thank you so much for taking care of your guests and property!

The staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. The room was also clean and had everything we needed. The location near to DC and Old Town Alexandria was very convenient for sight seeing.

While the hotel's location is convenient, the street the hotel is on is a bit hard to get to, depending on traffic. If you miss your turn, you'll have to circle for a little bit to get back. Just something to be mindful of when driving to the hotel.

The front desk and most all the other staff were very courteous and accommodating. The breakfast was an added plus however the eggs could have been fresh instead of liquid. The rooms were clean and a comfortable size. The location was excellent for our travel itinerary.

One of the beds had a indent in the mattress and when one turns it felt as if you were sleeping in a hole. My daughter woke up with back pains and on the last evening I had to switchbeds with her so she could rest. The air-conditioning was not adequate and on the last day it seemed we had no AC at all. The worst part of our stay was the breakfast room staff. They were rude and hot upset if you asked them to refill an item, on our last day a family with children were declined mix for the waffles, the juice machine was never refilled and it was disheartening to see the walk out with their children without breakfast. Prior to that another mother had also asked for refill for her child and was declined.

The facility was very nice. The location was great. Old Town is 5 mins by car. The Huntington Metro station is 5 mins by car and parking is $4.95 for all day. This is wonderful for those desiring to take the train into DC for museums, etc. Ask for a room on the back side. The front gets moderate traffic noise most of the day and night. The pool was nice. Great for kids and adults. A nice place to wind down with a glass (plastic) of wine in the late afternoon. Jane at the Front Desk was most helpful, professional , and kind.

Add some salt free and egg substitute items to the breakfast menu.

The first thing on entering was the genuine smile of the front desk staffer as he was assisting another guest and he was the same with me, felt very welcomed. Neat, clean, modern decor. The convenience shop is the best of hotels where I have stayed, really great with wine & beer selections as well. Loved the room colors & dark wood, wood vanity in bathroom. The bed, covers, and pillows were so comfortable. There was an automatic connection to WiFi, no codes to enter. It was SO convenient to Old Town Alexandria & reasonable price.
