Hilton Alexandria Old Town

Nice location on King Street, about half an hour walk to the Potomac and all the bars and restaurants. The hotel room was large with 2 queen beds, a large TV & console, desk with chair and an armchair with footstool. Bedside table in between the 2 beds. Air con worked well and blackout curtains were a bonus. Large bathroom with bath and shower over. Toiletries were very nice. Friendly staff. Near metro line.

Only had complimentary water first night and tea/coffee/milks were nor replenished until day 3. No kettle, so had to use coffee maker for water for tea. No grooming kit (had expected one as I saw complimentary toiletries...).

everything except cost of parking should be free and the ability to correct a fradulant charge made in the dinning area.it was taken care of however it was inconvient and time consuming to fix a problem that should be easyier to rectify.

The location was perfect for us as King street has much to offer ie: restaurants, shopping, bars, waterfront and it felt very safe to walk around at night. We also used subway with 3 day pass to get into DC and metro is just across the street.

The only negatives were both rooms had no working guide for tv so we could not see what shows were available and internet and parking were extra charges. Parking seemed very expensive! When we go to DC again we will compare these two things when deciding where to stay.

Room was spacious, clean, comfortable beds. Loved the location right next to the Metro (though poor trip planning on our part meant we we needed to take a shuttle bus to the closest working train station, according to signs this stop will be back in use in early November 2022). Super convenient to have a Starbucks in the lobby. Dinner at the restaurant/bar was tasty and satisfying. Staff was friendly and accommodating, though there was a slight complication when we tried to leave the parking garage (our key didn't read in the scanner) and we had to pay the full day's "lost ticket" fee to exit. We were tired, so at that point we were more concerned with leaving than trying to get the cost adjusted, so we just paid it and left. Convenient to have a diner right next door and Theismann's restaurant across the street. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to be close to a Metro station, especially once the train is back, though the shuttle bus to Reagan wasn't terrible, just longer.

The parking issues discussed below were really our only negative during an otherwise excellent stay.

Breakfast is overpriced, but convenient

My room should have been cleaner. Yellow jellybean on the window sill when we arrived and still there when we left, even though the room had been cleaned 3 times. Housekeeping took my open soap bar and did not replace with a new bar on 3/27. Same day, did not replace any coffee setups. Microwave in room would have been a nice bonus and a freezer that actually froze items in it.

The parking garage is hard to figure out, but once you find out that the hilton main elevator opens to parking garage, it is wonderful.

They had to take out microwaves out of room because of covid, they need to put them back in rooms. They did help me with using the one in the main lobby Staff were GREAT!

Location! Right next to the Metro and the free buses/trams to explore Alexandria Old Town. Paid carpark is just underneath the hotel. Very convenient to travel into Washington DC via public transport. Great comfy rooms too.

Extremely comfortable bed and great shower - very convenient location as well, just a few minutes away from the city centre and meters away from the metro station. Very convenient to stay if you’re working out in D.C.

The ladies at the front desk were excellent. The room was clean, quiet, large. Starbucks!! Whoopee! The breakfast in the restaurant was quite good. The location across the street from the Metro was terrific. The location in Old Alexandria was very nice and the trolley up and down King St was so helpful.

The property is next door to the D.C. Metro. When I saw that the tracks were just across the street from our 5th floor window, I resigned to an early morning "wake-up." But it was near total quiet. Amazing!
