Bega Motel

A great little motel. A long check in period, fuss free. Very close to centre of town, shops, cafe's, takeaway etc. The beds were very comfortable, great room setup, decent sized fridge for keeping drinks and snacks, and basic amenities to cook a simple meal. Netflix was available on the TV and the bathroom was well set up, clean, very functional and pleasant. Aircon was also really effective. Best part is the stunning view of the mountains at sunset!

No breakfast, but there are great Cafes in walking distance or a short drive. A decent chopping knife (e.g. to make a salad) and 2 wine glasses would be wonderful!

Modern decor. Comfortable

Water temperature control was temperamental in one room (have stayed twice in five weeks). The dog in the non-pet friendly room next to ours and who was left for the entire day made the post cancer treatment getaway less than enjoyable, but not as unenjoyable as it was for staff who had to clean up its mess. Televisions are smart, which is great. Televisions depend on wifi repeaters which have inadequate range to the master bedroom in family rooms. Overcome by hot spotting off our 5g phones.

This is an old Australian style motel that has obvioulsy had a recent room refurbishment. So, it is nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean and modern. Check-in was easy with just a simple lockbox to get the keys from after a pin being sent by text (we arrived late evening). The bed was very confortable. The bathroom was a good size and clean and easy to use. The fridge is a good size to empty the esky into (small but bigger than a bar fridge). This is all in all a good motel!

No compalints at all. The building is old and the location is nothing flash, but for a comfortable place to have a nice shower and a good sleep after spending the day at the beach, it was perfect. My score is calculated as an 8.0. That is probably underrating this motel when you take into account that it isn't pretending to be anything more than a country town motel, for a country town motel this would be 9+ in my mind.

Renovated room - neat, lots of bench space for suitcase etc, clean, a/c heater worked well. Warm, welcoming greeting at reception. I accidentally left my iPad in the room and drove away. Stopped at end of driveway before turning onto road. Staff member ran after my car to give me iPad. Very grateful.

Single bed right up against window. Towels are small and worn. Outside needs a refresh.

The room was fresh and lovely. Lots of utensils to cook with. A hotplate, microwave, kettle, sandwich maker, toaster. Pots, Plates cups and glasses, knives, forks and spoons etc.. Very impressive. The man at the desk wasn't rude but also not very friendly although he did stick his head out to check on my car when I accidentally set the alarm off. Housekeepers were lovely. All in all a very nice stay.

Only pizza can be delivered to the room or maccas via menulog. The Instant coffee they have in the room is disgusting.

Modern decore, clean and comfortable

No mini bar or bottled water is a small thing, the shower head which could not be moved was in the the middle of a small shower space so showering without trying to get your hair wet was not fun and the TV in the second room had no internet so we couldn’t stream movies or anything had to watch normal TV which is another small annoyance

Convenient stopover location - it's an easy to find and very short walk to cafe, supermarket, restaurants.. The rooms have been recently renovated and are nicely presented. Even small things like having a kitchen faucet high enough to easily fill water bottles and kettle.

The rooms with 2 beds are really quite small. One member of our party had a room with a door that didn't lock so was insecure.

Excellent service with a smile. Lovely receptionist lady. We had arrived late evening, she was making her dinner out the back, so couldn't hear me but she was very apologetic and was just super sweet to speak with. She was extremely helpful and welcoming! Location was fantastic and very quiet when we stayed. It was only a couple of minutes drive from Woolies. Our family room, 2 bedrooms with kitchenette, 5 X guests was excellent. Fully renovated with modern fittings and no carpet (thank goodness). Most motels/motor inns have awful carpet and are just rundown... Not this one 🙂. Everything was clean and pretty close to places like the Quest if I was to compare.

The only thing I can say is that the hotplate electric stove may need to be upgraded. It's toooo slow to heat up. Maybe upgrade to a portable induction stove...? Cooking space is tiny.. but I guess this can't be helped due to limited space in the kitchen. It's not a big deal though. You just gotta be organised and work with what you've got!

The beds are very comfortable, I love the big rectangular shower head.

With the parking being right in front of each room I wasn’t happy with vehicles reversing in. This makes it louder when they are parking and leaving but the exhaust fumes are directed towards the rooms. There where a lot of work utes reversing in and coming in quite late making a lot of noise with their vehicles and talking. it’s not unusual to be able to hear a little noise between the rooms walls which is acceptable but the noise out front was so loud you could hear every word. Maybe a courtesy notice to stop reverse parking and to be mindful of talking too loud after a reasonable time.

The room had the best and biggest bed I have experienced, huge and cloud soft! Price was good value.

The courtyard looks a bit harsh, with lots of concrete and bitumen. It needs a lot more vegetation to soften it, and to cool it in summer. The bathroom featured very rough paintwork and needed a vent in the bottom of the door so that the the ceiling extractor fan could work properly (the door was a tight fit, allowing very little air to pass through, so the fan was struggling). An army of tradies was on site, so access to our parking spot was tricky. Our room had black-out blinds for night use, but no daytime curtains (for privacy).
