The view was stunning! The room was basic, just like most motel rooms, but it was very comfy and well equipped. It’s solid brick so kept sound out and stayed cool in the heat. The balcony overlooking Merimbula has a beautiful place to sit and watch the birds and the ocean. Everything was clean but not with overly fragranced products - better for my allergies than most places, I really appreciated that. It’s on a hill overlooking Merimbula and gives the impression of being just outside of the town so quite peaceful though it’s really close to the centre.

I can’t think of anything to improve.

Janine was so welcoming and friendly. While the room is a little dated, it's clean and well maintained. We had a lovely view from the balcony and while I didn't get a chance to have a swim in the pool, it really looked clean and inviting. The best part were the daily tidy-ups provided which really felt like service above and beyond; completely unexpected for a motel but so appreciated.

There was a bit of a musty/old cigarette smoke smell in the room but it wasn't over-powering. I used a bit of Glen-20 which pretty much sorted it out. The shower head was on the smaller side too and the hard plastic bits of electric blanket on the mattress made it uncomfortable for my partner but overall these were such small details. Based on the welcome, cleanliness and service we'd happily stay again.

it was wonderful. From the moment we went to reception with the lovely woman giving us a rundown of what was in the area, giving us a map and providing us with real milk. She said we had the penthouse suite. I thought she was joking, but we had the room at the end which was spacious with a big balcony and two windows. The views were brilliant. The room was great and I automatically felt at peace and knew I had made the right choice for our stay in Merimbula. It was quiet and just what I needed. We ended up buying some oysters and a pizza and eating them on the balcony. Bliss.

That we only spent one night! We will return!

Spectacular view. Very comfortable. Great balcony to watch the whole area, water, hills, birds, etc. Indeed, they have hundreds of cockatoos, rosellas, and other birds right at your window. Really interesting and fun. A bit noisy between rooms, could hear snoring next door. But all in all great.

Need to drive or ride into town.

This was such a sweet spot that I would stay at again! The owner at check in was super friendly and gave lots of suggestions for how to make the most of our stay. He was very generous and even gave a voucher he had on hand that he wasn't going to use! Don't be shy to mention plans, you never know what you might get in return. People that love their home clearly just want to share it with more people! Thank you

The only improvement I would make is the shower head being a bit larger.

Very friendly on arrival. Helped with places to see and places to eat. Lovely comfy bed, rooms a little dated lovely clean. We arrived back from site seeing and 2 beautiful pieces of home made orange cake to have with our cuppa. Lovely touch.

Just a little far out to walk to beach and restaurants.

Beautiful comfortable room and balcony. Loved the birds and the pool and the view. Ideal spot and fridge and kettle good. Staff are lovely, thoughtful and accommodating. The room is cleaned daily. The bathroom was spacious, bed so comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay, will be back again.

The room was spacious and spotless. The balcony was a good size and the views of the water and Merimbula were spectacular. We had visits from some of the local birds l, which was lovely.

The property is not brand new and modern. However, the cleanliness, being able to use a kitchenette and the comfortable bed satisfied us.

Have stayed here several times now. Tried a couple of other places but always prefer Kingfisher. Rooms are spotlessly clean, hosts are very friendly & the views are fabulous. Despite being on the main road in, it's not noisy & the extra bird-life is great to watch too. Being on top of the hill, it's not walking distance to anything but is only like a 2 minute drive to all the shops & restaurants & who drink-drives these days anyway.

Nothing. Breakfast unavailable due to Covid, but no biggie - we often bring our own or plenty options in town.

Loved staying at the Kingfisher. A great welcome from the owner Janine, a clean comfortable room on the corner of the building so we had incredible views in two directions, a very pleasant temperature for the water in the swimming pool, fresh milk provided for teas and coffees, good water pressure in the shower and non-stop entertainment from cockatoos, magpies and a kookaburra. Plus we got to meet a sheep and a young wallaby! Janine gave us tips on the best places to eat and swim and she was absolutely right. We had a great couple of days.

The only slight problem we had was with the WiFi. My husbands phone picked it up immediately but on my phone and our i-pad the Internet connected then dropped out almost immediately. But I think this was because my phone can't handle 5G, whereas my husband's phone can, so it may well be the Internet provided is too fast for my phone and I need a 3G version of it. If so, my phone is the problem, not the Kingfisher's Internet.
