The location was great. About 1k out of town up a steep road which meant the views were fantastic from the balcony of the motel style rooms. The pool was beautiful although it was too chilly to swim. Great sun lounges looking to the surrounding gardens which were lush & stunning & very well looked after. The gardener was working each morning. The rooms were older style with a makeover & very spacious with a large tv on the wall. The lounge breakfast area was very modern. Furnished beautifully with full length glass sliding doors with bench seats looking over Merimbula down to the beach. Lounge chairs with a coffee table & other seating with tables made for a great spot for brekky & the hours where we sat & played Sequence! Brekky was outstanding. We were looked after by the lovely Tracy who was a wealth of knowledge about the area. She explained that they are very fussy, all produce is locally sourced, that the bread came from a bakery 40 minutes away (it was the best ever). The muesli & yoghurt was exceptional & even the jams were tried & tested for excellence! As in the rooms there was also a large range of teas to try. Well done to the young man who has transformed Hillcrest!

It was a comfortable bed and clean. It had a coffee machine which was surprising. The view was lovely. The rooms could do with a little updating but i feel like this might be happening.

The wardrobe smelt damp and musty I wouldn’t put my clothes in it. There was no air conditioning but top windows opened which was ok for the night we stayed not sure about a very warm night. I liked the screen door but couldn’t lock it. The price was high but it was in the holiday period a few days after new year I didn’t think it was value for money at the price but if it was less I would stay again.

Very nicely presented and great views over the town and harbour. Nice grounds including a decent sized pool and tennis court. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Lovely little touches in terms of the types of tea available and an espresso machine.

I booked two rooms, a double and a twin. Both bedrooms were nicely done but only one bathroom had been refurbished. The other one was very dated and orange with a tiny sink & low tap meaning I had to use a glass to fill the kettle as there was no way it would fit under the tap. A new bathroom would make a huge difference.

The view is amazing throughout the whole day, sunrise was amazing sitting out on the deck chairs by the pool, night time and lounging around the camp fire whilst overlooking Merimbula was nice. Nice decor rooms, spotlessly clean and has a spa feel to it. Beautiful lounge area with refreshments available. Gardens and surrounding areas well kept, tennis court and equipment free to use! Staff all friendly and approachable, let us check in half hour early as our room was ready.

Photos don’t do the Hillcrest justice. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful! The amenities, quality of the rooms, the views and the people at Hillcrest make it a 10/10 stay. There was a fire put on for us every evening by the hosts with comfy seating overlooking the sunset on the water. There are plenty of games to play outdoors in many different areas including a tennis court with the best view! The pool has a big seating/lounging area as well. All just 5 minutes from Merimbula Centre so it can’t get much better than this. Definitely coming back asap

Everything was perfect. Nothing to dislike

View was amazing over Merimbula and also the motel pool. Bed was king size and so comfortable. Room was quiet for a great nights sleep. This was on the lower level. Good size table and two chairs. Old motel modernised.

Shower had overhead and hand held but had some difficulty stopping spray flooding bathroom floor and not a good outlet to get rid of water. Towel rail fell off. Was a poor design with nowhere to put costmetic bag. T>V had a female commentating on what was on every channel and we couldnt turn it off. Very smart TV. Bed side table blocks of wood were too small with the lamp on. Couldnt put a book down on it. One plate and not nice cups/mugs.

We had a car, location was perfect to drive in and out of town. Amazing views, kids loved the tennis court, and playing in the boat. Loved the style and feel. The family room was very comfortable for my family of 5. We loved our stay!

The fact that the showers were missed during the Renovations. The rooms were beautifully renovated and styled, including the bathrooms, but the shower grout and screens were not replaced, which was ashame.

Wonderful, tastefully renovated motel. Very comfortable bed, exceptional mini bar (they provided a selection of loose leaf tea which is gold for a non-coffee drinker!) and high quality toiletries. The views from my room were gorgeous too. Staff were helpful - I checked in and checked out, outside usual reception hours and the key and checkin process was sent via text. Good parking onsite too. Wifi was great - I travelled for work so this was really helpful. Short drive to the town centre. I didn’t use the tennis courts or pool but they looked very inviting - would use them if I stayed again.

The screen door on my room needed a little bit of attention - it was tricky to close. Also it would have been helpful if reception hours were slightly longer, but the after hours check in was simple and well managed so it wasn’t a big deal.

Love the honesty system at the bar, the ocean view and under cover parking.

There was a lack of restaurants in walking distance. Using the bar area as a restaurant would be a huge bonus for us. Since we ride motorbikes, we like to eat where we stay. Plus, this is a deciding factor to not stay here should we look for future accommodation for our riding group. Usually, we have around 10 or more riders and would visit annually.

location and view and people. reception is smooth and very kind to help customer's need. Sharon give a good advice for dinner venue and made booking for table and taxi. Location facing to sunrise, high to overlook town and bay. Wonderful.

Breakfast Good : View, Full sunshine. Tidy and clean. Home made style fresh menu. Bad : food is good but value for money??? too simple for 20 bucks. Room ; No privacy. whole wall is window - good for view but can't understand no blind or curtain to protect privacy.
