Staff were exceptional. Room was comfortable, and service each day was very good. Loved the quirkiness and history of the hotel - and the location was excellent. Will be back.

The Crepe cafe was understaffed. However it was Mother's day weekend - so probably the place may have been busier than normal. Minor complaint - but the windows in our room needed a good clean, and the blinds and the air- conditioner were a little dusty.

Excellent location. Walked out the door, turned right, and there are the Rocks Sunday markets, just a very short stroll away.. Circular quay, not much further. From there, the whole of Sydney is accessible by ferry or train. All just a short walk from the hotel.

The staff were lovely. The hotel is charming. We were upgraded, which sounded good..... but the room was downstairs, spacious, comfortable and well equipped, but something of a posh dungeon. One window looked out on to a small courtyard obscured by a cane screen. Not a bad spot for a sleep, and ok as we were only in for one night, but no good for a several night stay. A tip for management... Ask restaurant staff to wear soft sole shoes if they use the stairs passing these rooms. Somebody clattered up and down the stairs very early, presumably preparing for breakfast.

This historic building is beautiful, reception are brings you back in time. we were welcomed by a lovely lady and nothing was a problem as we arrived a little early. location was perfect, an easy walk to the light rail and the harbour . highly recommend the crepe place for lunch .

unfortunately our room was downstairs a tad small even though I booked 11 months ago. The room overlooked a terrace where other guests can gather . I had to close the blinds during the day while getting ready to go out and the lighting was very dim. The first morning I was woken up by a few people talking directly outside the door which I find pretty rude to do that .

Being right in the heart of Sydney in the Rocks district was great - famous historic place with lots to see and do within walking distance of our hotel. Great restaurants too! The hotel staff were excellent, making us feel right at home. The evening and night staff were exceptionally helpful and respectful of us and all customers that we saw.

The rooms were comfortable but the bathroom was a bit on the small side - one of us is quite tall and found moving round in the bathroom had to be done carefully!

Location was great. Loved the heritage building. Staff were friendly & helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good.

I understand the double glass on the windows for noise etc but it would be nice to be able to open up the window for fresh air. Also the mattress & pillows need updating & replacing in our room 218. The mattress had a high bit right down the middle & either side of it it had sunk down so there was no support. The pillows were very soft & non supportive.

An excellent location, within easy walking distance of many restaurants, Circular Quay and multiple options for public transport. Staff are fantastic and addressed a few minor issues quickly and efficiently by going well above and beyond. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. Large television which allowed screencasting so we could watch our favourite shows after long days being tourists!

This wasn't an issue for us, but there is no lift due to being a Heritage building. Staff offer to help you with your bags which is great. Some noise early in the mornings on some days, but to be expected in a busy city!

The heritage building is lovely. The location is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The public areas are beautiful. In preparation for my checkin the aircon was turned on in my room and it was so refreshing when I walked into it from the stuffy third floor landing. Comfortable bed.

the rooms are small- understandable for the heritage building, small things made the room feel dated (light stained appliances, worn desk). lack of a lift- not a problem at 3pm check in, tiresome at 1am after a full day in heels- more an annoyance.

Central location, walking distance to restaurants, cafes, Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Friendly helpful staff, daily room service, nice Australian toiletries, complimentary bottle of bubbles on NYE and free tickets to NYE event.

No lift however there is a dumb waiter for bags. The carpark is in the public carpark across the road so no direct access from the car park to hotel with your luggage which is a little annoying. You can pull up outside on the street to load and unload luggage. Parking was $150 for 3 nights.

We'd taken a 2-day cruise on the Queen Elizabeth from Melbourne to Sydney. Our room had a great view over the old Rocks buildings' rooftops to our boat docked at Circular Quay. Was a really interesting building. Staff were super helpful and so nice. The creperie next door is part of the hotel. Wonderful to have crepes and great coffee for breakfast.

I loved that this hotel was "different" but some people might not like that you have to use the stairs to go up to your room (there is a lift for your luggage - ours was brought to our room)

Superb location and very relaxed ambience. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Beautifully adapted building that doesn’t disguise its origin. A very great place to get under the skin of Sydney Harbour; starring “The Rocks”.

The service can be rather haphazard, as they suffer staffing problems, which are currently endemic within hospitality. We did feel a little let down by our room, which didn’t live up to its upgraded status.
