The location and room are excellent

The staff at treasury bar was very terrible. They put the sign “wait to be seat”, and I was waiting there, the staff saw me and did not react anything. I was waiting for long time, and came to the table, the staff at Treasury bar looked at me just like “what are you doing here”? After that, he does not come to take order. I had to come to the bar’s counter to order the coffee. I think with Intercontinental Hotel service level’s expectation, it is simply not accepted

Location great, Room spacious, clean and comfortable, view was amazing

I booked this weekend away for my wife's 50th birthday. We have stayed at other hotels for our birthdays and anniversaries and they always throw in some little surprise (a bottle of champagne or chocolates or a little something small). I sent an email advising the hotel of the reason we were travelling, but they were not keen in providing any surprise for my wife. The room was quite expensive so with the cost of living at the moment I was not able to pay for any extras as this weekend was an expensive weekend away.

Location, room design, breakfast , the pool

When i asked one of the staff about how to reserve the Aster restaurant. Instead of him answering my question, the first thing he came up with was” first of you are not allowed to come there with sandals and pointed out my shoes, i got shocked as i was heading to the swimming pool ans that’s why i had sandals on and plus it wasn’t the answer I expected to hear, even though i reported that rude behaviour to their head manager, i was super annoyed and the way that staff answered me ruined my day. However the manager apologised for the behaviour…

This is a top class hotel with an excellent location, close to the Circular Quay. The room is clean and tidy with good facilities including a small safe to keep your important documents like passports. Traffic by buses, light rail, train and ferries are all within very close walking distant. The hotel is also close the Opera House, Royal Bontanic Garden and the Rock.

Cannot think of any for a first class hotel like this. Not sure if this is a Booking.com or hotel issue, we get a large King size bed room instead of a double bed room as remarked in our booking.

The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment, and what an excellent job of combining the contemporary with the historical location. No matter which direction your room faces, you will experience a great view.... From Sydney Harbour Bridge to Opera House, facing Eastward down the harbour to the ocean, or city. The other options in this area, are all looking a bit tired. So I would recommend making The Intercontinental top of your list for consideration The hotel crew I had exposure too, were super helpful and professional, with a kind and friendly professional manner. True hospitality. Located conveniently near / on Circular Quay, you are steps away from ferries, Opera House, and the shopping district of the CBD. And, close to Conservatorium, The Domain, Museums and Galleries too.

Not much to say really. What items I may have thought twice about.. are super minor and picky.

Stunning, clean, fabulous service from friendly staff in a beautifully restored building. Made us feel very welcome. We saved to stay here, so glad we did. We felt comfortable & the room, 2104, was just gorgeous, auto curtains, dimmer switch with soft modern decor. Through our window The Botanic Gardens & Sydney Harbour. Cocktails in the Treasury Bar were fabulous, we just loved sitting & admiring the architecture. Oh, did i mention how wonderful this hotel smells, just beautiful, like they sprayed subtle perfume everywhere. Thank you Intercontinental, we will definitely be back. My happy place.

As Tina said was "simply the best"

The view from the room, and a very comfortable bed. Central location - being able to walk to Circular Quay and the transport hub was a big plus and the view was spectacular, day and night. Getting a fireworks display for our wedding anniversary was a bonus!

The room was not spotless; there were marks on the bathroom door and fluff on the carpet. Crockery supply was not always dependable, we ran out of coffee pods a few times, and you need to keep a check on the linen service; bed linen was fine, but several of the towels supplied had frayed edges and to say that some of them were not very soft is an understatement!

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location close to the Opera house, harbour bridge, the rocks and the CBD The hotel is of the usual standard expected of an Intercontinental. The rooms were comfortable & well serviced. The restaurant & bar were of a high standard but comparatively expensive, but if you would like the best service and view you need pay, lol. However the hotel was well placed with a short walk to the harbour / Opera House and the centre of town with lots of choice for restaurants, bars, theatre & shops. The Breakfast Buffet staff were excellent and the food choices were wonderful and plentiful including fresh fruit and juices and made to order omelets. The location was great and easily accessible for our tour operators. Very nice for photoshoot. I love a lot of this hotel, it has a feeling of historical charm with old buildings and beautiful greenery. The rooftop bar offers a stunning view of the harbor and the Sydney Opera House, and it's very relaxing to sip a drink and listen to music up there. Adriani Dussmann

The room was spacious with excellent view. Easy check-in and check-out process. Location was perfect - good walk to the concert at the Opera House, and right next to the Circular Quay for easy transport. The treasury was a gem for quick eats at any time and staff were great - very friendly and attentive.

Due to an emergency, we notified staff that we will arrive early the next day. Whilst the room was available, the room was not ready for the 3-pax booked. They were quick to provide the required beddings, though - the sofa was great as the extra bed . Buffet breakfast was nothing special and was a hit and miss - Days 1 and 3 were okay, Day 2 was not.

The view was amazing, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The level of cleanliness was on another level. Very comfortable bed.

Check-in took some time, despite requesting earlier for an early check-in. However, I understand that it's based on availability. We arrived to Sydney Airport at 6am as planned and to the hotel by 7am. Waited for 3.5 hours to get to our room. As we had departed from Perth at 11pm on the 23rd, and couldn't get rest on the plane, we were very tired on arrival, hence why we requested for an early check-in, and we were willing to pay extra.
