Location is perfection. If you want to explore the Rocks and Circular Quay this is a brilliant option. The Market is also right out the door so you can get a yummy gozleme or other food from the food carts. The Hotel also has a great cafe 4 Doors Down, which we had an excellent cheap breakfast at. But the Mercantile also has an EXCELLENT menu and all day and late night dining. Very reasonably priced and the best chips in Sydney. Yum, I'm missing them already. Drinks are also reasonably priced. The staff are absolutely lovely. They also have great bands, musicians, dancing and party atmosphere. Had the funnest weekend.

I guess you get what you play for. The bathrooms are shared, but right outside the door. The beds weren't comfy (please invest in pillow mattress covers) The wall in our room was all peeling. No aircon.

Lovely large, dated but very clean and quiet room. We had room 17 which had its own bathroom, quiet a few have shared bathrooms, which wouldn't have bothered me either. They were clean and numerous. Only issue is the numerous stairs to get to this room. The staff were amazing and we didn't even have to ask for help with our luggage, they were whipped straight up the stairs. Slight issue was getting them down the next morning. We managed though. Location is superb, especially on a Sunday, for the market and catching a cruise the next morning. Walking distance! Perfect Irish food as well. Will definitely be back. Thank you Rion for your amazing help!

Nothing.

Great historical pub right in the heart of Sydney. Easy stroll to everything. Close to public transport. Staff are amazing. Incredibly affordable and value for money. Ammenities clean and bed comfy. Not the Hilton but for what you pay it’s a bargain. In house meals are amazing. Try the shamrock pie. You won’t be disappointed. Will definitely stay again.

Building does need a reno but this doesn’t impact the character of the place or the comfort. Only dislike is the stairs but when staff are quick to carry your bag up to your room on arrival, it really isn’t an issue.

Great location right in The Rocks, above the lively oldest Irish pub in the city. Despite being above a pub, noise levels weren't bad, and it closed early enough that it didn't interfere with sleep. Although the bathrooms were outside the rooms, there were plenty, and everything was kept very clean. We appreciated the A/C unit in the room in the Australian summer, and a bonus was that the food at the pub was delicious and well worth it.

The room was perhaps on the small side and there wasn't much natural light or views, but for a short stay in Sydney it was lovely.

The Hotel atmosphere was welcoming and being able to get something from the Bar and bistro in the same place was amazing. The staff were helpful and easy to check in with. Beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee in room. Hotel charm and historical photos made it feels like you were staying in history

The bathrooms on the level don't have baths just showers and toilets. For its location the windows don't really do the location justice. The verandah should be more accessible for patrons to enjoy the location better.

My room was next to the bathrooms. Great location with lot's of festivities int he area and its amazing how quiet it was once I was in my room.

This isn't a big think but it's the only thing I didn't like: the stairs. Luckily a nice young lad carried by bags up the stairs on my arrival. Also the workmen on the adjacent apartment block began at 6.30am which came as a surprise but I just got on with it. They weren't there on the weekend.

The night before a cruise, a street away from the ship, it was a short walk rolling our suitcases. Weekend market was on out front & had our meal outside

Steep stairs no lift, they carried my suitcase up when I arrived in the afternoon, but in the morning, being a pub there was no one around to help me take a large case down. If they could install a dumbwaiter/luggage lift it would be handy as a lot of the people could be heading for the ships with a number of travelling bags. my room 16 the toilet was leaking water which was running across floor, & a soaking wet towel was already on the floor next to it, so it was known about.

Staff were amazing. Arrived with heavy bags right on dinner time. Bar staff helped carry bags upstairs and were very friendly and courteous. Fabulous meal. The shamrock pie was amazing and well worth the money. Accommodation was very handy. Shared bathroom was not an issue. Never saw anyone else use it. Am sure they did. Very clean. Old historical pub with lots of history. Don’t expect the Hilton but do be prepared to be surprised. Booked in again already.

Nothing really. She was spot on.

Location was great. Were able to walk from the train. As well as walk all around Darling Harbor, CBD, Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. We were just a few block from the cruise port where we boarded our cruise. Staff were great too. Friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant top notch. Live entertainment and wonderful food. Weekend street market was fascinating. We would definitely stay again!!

Staff mentioned that some renovations are scheduled for later in 2023 - possibly adding an elevator. That would be nice. Room was very large. Bathroom was one of the larger hotel bathrooms we've seen. However they were definitely in need of some upgrades. Clean of course. Just aged. It is a classic building with character new hotels won't every have. We would definitely stay there again!!
