Very grand traditional decor. The china displays in the main lounge were beautiful , the chandeliers, art work etc etc was impressive.

Furnishings including soft furnishings were well used, tired and worn. The dining chairs needed new upholstery and padding. The carpets in common areas were quite worn and faded. The room carpet was old.

Excellent location being easy walking distance to Circular Quay, Opera House, Botanic Gardens, The Rocks. Lovely big spacious rooms. The pool was nice and warm (and a bonus as I didn't know there was one). More affordable than most other hotels in the area.

Little bit stingy with the coffee sachets, sugar, etc. Balcony is so small you can't sit on it, standing room only.

The location was excellent. 10 out of 10. Fitness facility was something needed to improve, 5 out of 10. Breakfast included, it was ok, but for the long stay, menu changes at times could be more enjoyable. Missed the handmade coffee with stamford marked on it. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Room service $5 charge fee only when you're desperate for meals. Otherwise, there are plenty of fine dining venues nearby. Staff was helpful and friendly. Free drinking water bottles were only provided on the last day from our 4 nights stays. Housekeeping 8.5 out of 10. Spacious double sinks in the bathroom, and of course bath is my must, 10 out of 10 Interteior design was our favourite. The lamp on the desk was a bit dodgy. 8.5 out of 10. Weather pictures are perfect. 10 out of 10. Thank you, Stamford.

Loved the location of Sir Stamford. Close to Circular Quay, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, restaurants, bars & magical harbour views. We were so kindly upgraded to a delux suite for our special occasion. Staff were all so friendly & helpful. It was only a 9 minute walk to Opera House where we attended a show m. Everything was so easy, even onsite parking at Sir Stamford. Loved the old world charm if this hotel.

The hotel was cashless, so credit card had to be used for payments that came with a 1.52% surcharge. A choice to use cash would have been nice. But thats the only thing dislike.. Everything else was AMAZING!!

The location could not be beat. The room was very large with nice furnishings. Elegant all around. Very generous with luxury soaps, shampoos, etc. Asked for ice three nights and it was delivered before I could hang up the phone. Bathroom was very nice and spotless. Beautiful pool and patio area and nicely appointed gym and dressing area.

I like to read at night and the lighting was poor. For two people staying 10 days there was not enough storage (drawers) for clothing and very few hangers. Bottled water was not in room as promised, but I'm sure staff would have brought up if I had asked. Mattress should be replaced as it was a bit uncomfortable. Although hallway was elegantly appointed, it had a bit of a damp smell.

The Sir Stamford's Hotel and location is brilliant for sight- seeing around Sydney, with some old-world elegance and charm thrown in. The rooms are large, stately and we loved the antique marble bathrooms! Views of the park helped provide a tranquil and peaceful escape from the busy CBD and Circular Quay prescint - literally just around the corner! Best spot to stay in Sydney.

In keeping with old-world Lux Hotels - could we pls bring back the old leather bound dossier of WhatsOn in Syd (for that month...incl QR codes for Gen-X) plus Intro to Hotel Ammenities (what's where, incl restaurants and offers) and Intro to Beauty therapies and any monthly specials? Can we do something else with the bare bar drawer - if no longer provided as an option for guests? Hoping these humble suggestions will help keep up my very high standard in appreciation for this beautiful, elegant and historic gem in Sydney! Loved my stay and the staff were faboo too! Thankyou!

The Stamford is a well known, old very english style hotel. The location is prime! You are minutes from Circular Quay, restaurants, bars, cafes, the famous bridge & opera house...many many more sites! The staff, especially the concierge was very helpful and smiling all the time! The bar staff, always welcoming us after dinner when we just wanted a night cap.

I imagine the hotel was quite elegant some years back, because of the pictures! But we were disappointed as the hotel truly needs to be redecorated. It feels like it has been neglected over the years. Especially in our room where the furniture, the drapes were worn and had stains, sad sad.

The location is excellent. It's only 5 mins walk to the ferry terminals to get to Taronga Zoo or darling harbour, Lyric thatre or Luna park etc., and 10 mins walk to Opera house and restaurants surrounding the opera house. Our room was standard room but so spacious compared to other hotels nearby. We had quite active during our trip to go to so many places in Sydney but when we come back to room we had really comfortable time. Bed was comfy and we had no issues with it.

There was no ceiling lights in room so it was a bit hard to dress up and check if my makeup were just right amount but bathroom had good bright lightings and be able to check so no problem.

As a middle aged female, I found the walk up, (although not overly steep) to the hotel from the train station, a little hard going dragging my suitcase. I was then told about the public access lift, which takes you from near the ferry terminals directly up to the street just down from this hotel. Easy peasy from then on!! I in turn, passed this info on to a much older lady, whom over breakfast told me she had felt exactly the same. She was extremely grateful. Perhaps this lift could be mentioned somewhere in the hotel info???

Location was spot on for us - less than 5 mins walk to the Opera House and Circular Quay. The room was huge. The bed huge. The bathroom huge. We had a juliette balcony, which was nice to let fresh air in. We could see the new huge cruise ship in the harbour. There was a fridge in our room which was handy. The toiletries provided were lovely and stocked up each day. The shower was spacious, powerful and hot. Breakfast was extra and OK. We only had it one morning as we were so close to a lot of eateries we just ate on the go the other mornings.

The room is looking a little tired. I imagine it was beautifully grand when it was done last but is now getting ready for a refurb. For example, in our room, the lampshades were torn, and the wooden furniture was marked with scuffs and cup stains, and the cupboard door to the fridge was hanging off almost. It was clean and comfortable, and everything worked however..
