The York by Swiss-Belhotel

Great location (handy for Wynyard station and Circular Quay) and the apartment size was really generous. Everything is provided in the apartment and the air con works really well. I look forward to returning.

Check in took a while due to an internet failure, and whilst the reception clerk apologised for the delay (and offered a complimentary drink) it would have been good to have recognition of the wait whilst they processed the person in front (ie: a quick 'sorry Sir, will be with you shortly' sort of thing). This was, however, a minor inconvenience. The apartment was showing signs of wear and tear, needs some holes filled in and walls repainted. It was still a good stay and I would return.

The location of this hotel was fantastic, approx 10 min walk to Circular Quay in one direction & 10 min walk the other way to Darling Harbour. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and great to have a lounge area & kitchen when travelling with a small child. Wynyard train station just down the road with a Coles available for the supermarket essentials. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a central location to stay in Sydney.

Small amount of maintenance required with the fridge, it kept leaking internally onto the top shelf, don't believe that this was checked. Also small language barrier with staff in trying to obtain a dish cloth to assist with washing dishes, they had no idea what we were asking for.

"The furniture and carpets in the room have a classic and timeless look, but they show some signs of wear and tear due to their age. Despite this, they have been well-maintained and kept in good condition. The kitchen seems to have a limited number of utensils and cooking equipment available for use. However, what is available appears to be in good condition and sufficient for basic meal preparation. Guests who plan on cooking more elaborate meals may need to bring their own utensils or equipment. Although some guests may prefer more modern decor, the room still retains a cozy and comfortable atmosphere."

I requested high floor with good view if possible - was given #1404 and we loved watching the traffic coming and going on the entrance to the bridge plus 2 small slithers of the harbour. The staff were all very pleasant. The balcony was bigger than we expected. Bed very comfy. The couch was comfy too when my husband's snoring got too much for me. There is a 2% surcharge for credit card but I was able to use a debit card with no extra fee. Very easy access from Wynyard Station - no problem at all with taking suitcases. Easy to get to Circular quay for ferries. Supermarket in the station complex.

On arrival there was a cheezels box with rubbish in it left behind by cleaner :-( Kitchen had a great variety of cooking utensils but only 2 small saucepans. We asked 3 times before receiving a frypan (but the night receptionist tried really hard to locate one for us) The daily servicing was late afternoon and not at all on the last full day...but the cleaner was lovely

The location was fabulous, we walked everywhere or caught public transport and found we were right in the middle of what we wanted to see and do. The apartment we stayed in was spacious with enough room for a family with teenagers to relax at the end of each day. The ramen restaurant at the bottom of the building was an added bonus.

The apartment was a little tired and dull and the kitchen wasn’t really equipped to cook and clean. There was nothing to wash or clean dishes or benches, apart from putting things directly into the dishwasher. The curtains and carpet were falling apart.

The location was excellent. We were close to literally everything. The staff were very helpful and obliging. The apartment was comfortable and met all our needs.

The traffic noise was really bad and constant regardless of the time. (We were on the 22nd floor) At one point, there was road work being done that wasn't started till 10.30 at night. Did not appreciate the jack hammers that late. Not the hotels fault, but they need better soundproofing. Was a bit odd that the only way to turn the main light on in the 3rd bedroom was from outside the room.

The apartment was very well appointed with plenty of space and a fabulous balcony with great views of The Rocks area of Sydney. It was clean and there were plenty of extras to get us through breakfast. The staff were fabulous and very efficient and friendly.

It was very noisey. The windows and doors need to either be replaced or resealed or double glazed. It felt as though there were windows open because the traffic noise was so obvious.

Location was easy and convenient for a CBD visit, there was a lot of space (including storage space) in the apartment and that was great, and we enjoyed the expansive view of the Bradfield Highway from our room and balcony. Air conditioning was good in such hot weather. Another bonus was the swimming pool area...so good in 38 degrees.

The kitchen facilities are VERY basic. Hardly any pots to cook with, implements very limited and the stove was limited by its primitive control. Since we expected to be able to cook some simple meals that was disappointing. Generally the rooms are showing their age.

Lovely spacious room. Always need a kitchen. Super comfortable bed. Lovely big television. Lovely big room that was not cramped. Lovely view. Super comfortable and super clean. Absolutely love this location.

Staff were very helpful on the telephone but when we were there they did not know directions to anything. They just gave us the map. They were very polite but barely spoke. They were good at taking our luggage and looking at after it for us. We said we would check in at 3 pm but by 5 pm they did not know if we had a room. We quickly learned not to ask questions of them because they never knew the answers.

Great location. Lovely balcony and apartment. Even the sofa bed was comfy. Staff were wonderful too

The advertised heated pool was not heated. Bedroom TV would not pick up any channels Loungeroom TV speakers crackled. No streaming services available on either TV We requested an accessible shower for a mobile impaired guest but the shower door clearance was only 35cm so this person could not get in the shower and had to hand wash from the basin during our stay. But we got on with it.
