We stayed at the Rendezvous for 4 nights, had a studio apartment on the 4th floor, room 412. Having kitchen facilities made the stay great. We had a balcony with a view of the Bridge and the Opera House. Cruise liners berthed out side our window, almost, had great views of the Cunard Queen Mary 2. Great location for exploring the Rocks and Circle Quay area, trams stopping very close to. Every evening the large flying foxes (fruit bats) can be seen flying around and roosting in the trees out side of the hotel, a great sight. A must for a drink and a meal is the oldest pub in Sydney, the Fortune of War, and the Orient Pub both very close by. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend the Rendezvous thank you all 👍

Car parking under the hotel, but independently run by Wilson Parking, who seem to have a monopoly on parking in Sydney, the hotel does have a special rate but still costs 50 AUD per 24 hours, so if stay for a few days does become expensive

The staff at reception were outstanding, especially the Italian gentleman when we arrived on the Monday afternoon and the Colombian lady during the following days were both extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. Having recently been overseas to countries where English is a second language, I appreciate the difficulty in speaking another language; these two folk were simply excellent. They are certainly assets to the Rendezvous Hotel.

The drawers in the wardrobe need serious attention; they do not fit onto the runners, while the runners "attached" to the drawers aren't really!!! I feel Booking.com and the managers of the Rendezvous need to co-ordinate the conditions of booking. I booked for 1 adult, an 11 yr old and a 10 yo. I assumed the price given reflected the cost for the three of us to actually sleep!!! It didn't!! The hotel classes 11yo's as adults, whereas booking.com doesn't! The quoted price was for 2 adults and nothing for the 10yo!!!! Bedding (rollout bed) for her was an additional cost ($60 PER NIGHT)!!! To me, this borders on false advertising - I expected the initial quote to be for three sleepers unless children aren't expected to sleep!! Luckily, the 11yo didn't accompany us.

The location was amazing and I loved that we could cook our own meals in the room if we wanted as it came with a fully equipped with a pot and a pan and basic cooking equipment.

There were signs all over the bathroom stating what you can and can’t do in there. One of them stating you can’t leave the bathroom door open when showering as the steam sets the smoke detectors off. Another thing was even though there was a full kitchen there was no small table and chairs to sit and eat the meal. Just a single lounge chair a desk with a chair. Plus the bathroom though it offers a bath with a shower combined, it’s a really high step and not a lot of people would be able to make that.

The location and proximity to the Rocks Circular key etc could not be bettered . The room large with kitchen area balcony ( with bridge views ) excellent .

The only negative was when booking on line I asked specifically for twin rooms . Instead it was a double bed . The very friendly lady at the desk said she would take it up with her manager who presumably made the error . She went into the office for a long time , we did not hear or see manager and no apology offered . A minor issue and the bed was converted into two singles but why this took so long was odd . Later we left luggage in the office where the lady , possibly presumably the same manager was abrupt , rude in fact . Asking us to keep quiet as it was an office etc . Really a minor issue but gave off an unfriendly unhelpful atmosphere to sn otherwise perfect stay . Another guest made a comment about a similar experience .

The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the fact it had a little kitchenette was a bonus. Could not fault the service and friendliness from the staff at this hotel. They made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Perfect location for our cruise. Just a short downhill walk from hotel to Circular Quay so no taxi required :) Many restaurants and pubs close by and a convenience store just 100m down the road.

There were a couple of little areas in the kitchenette and bathroom that could do with some minor cosmetic repairs but all in all I would recommend this hotel.

The location of Rendezvous Hotel was perfect for our needs over the 4 days/nights. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was reasonably modern and spacious. The overall size of our room with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious lounge more than met our needs. Parking was very close, reasonably priced and convenient and along with our friends, we would most definitely stay at Rendezvous Hotel again. Thank you!

New carpet and some modern but basic loungeroom furniture would certainly enhance the overall feel of the room but if this meant charging more then we'd be happy to accept what is currently provided.

The Rendezvous Hotel in The Rocks district of Sydney is our favourite place to stay when we are there. It oozes charm and history. The rooms range from historic terrace houses to one bedroom apartments and studio rooms. It is only moments from Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Not to mention so many fine dining and drinking establishments. Check out our ongoing adventures in Sydney here, where we go into more detail about things ro see and do, There is onsite parking available via Wilson Parking situated below the Rendezvous (Contact the motel first about parking, parking is for a single entry only). It’s our go to motel when we are staying in Sydney and we highly recommend it.

We chose this accommodation because of its location and that it had a balcony with harbour views. So far so good. Stunning outlook. Relatively quiet area compared to the nearby CBD. Very happy with these aspects.

The room’s decor was old and tired. The bathroom similar. Carpet was dark and dingy. The power sockets near the bed are dangerous and unsafe and coming away from the wall as are the ones under the TV. The shower screen needs to be replaced ASAP. No plug for the bathroom sink. No handrail near the bath. Toilet roll holder in a very awkward place behind and to the side of the toilet. The peeling paintwork on the outside of much of the accommodation is not a good look and is visible from the road. The shortcomings listed are easily enough fixed.

Location location! In the middle of the action but quiet and safe feeling. The beds were comfy and the bathroom fine.

The kitchen facilities were minimal and even just making toast could have set off the smoke alarms and landed us with a huge bill. I am pretty resourceful but this kitchen is not worthy of the title “self contained “. I don’t know if it’s an Australian thing or just this place, but it seemed weird to pay so much and not have Netflix or Sky TV or something on offer. The internet was pretty slow. Although the location is great, some recommendations of local mini marts or best cafe or something would’ve been a good touch. Wandering the streets is a bit of a good desert. Nearest food mart only sold sweets and white bread. Lots of Pubs and clubs and fine dining. Nothing much in between.

The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the rocks. Walk to ferries, opera house & a multitude of bar’s & restaurants & markets. We loved the history of the rocks area. The room was a good size for the 2 of us & even had a kitchen. We had twin beds a little close together but we could move them apart so no issue. Beds were comfy. Nice view over rooftops & a peek of the opera house. Yes it’s a little dated but room was clean & comfortable.it was nice to see pump bottles of all the soaps & conditioner, bonus was they smelt really nice. Staff were friendly & allowed us to check in early. We would stay again for sure.

A PowerPoint didn’t work but it wasn’t a big deal & I don’t recall seeing a hairdryer but I didn’t look hard.
