We were attending a concert at Aware entertainment and basically you walk out the door and you are there, so that was a great location for us. Also, the abundance of restaurants within easy walking was a bonus. The hotel itself is lovely with a spacious room and beautiful bathroom. Perfectly set out and we had a nice view over the Chinese Gardens. Loved the pristine cleanliness and fantastic comfortable bed and large bath towels. Staff are so helpful and professional. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast at the hotel which was a nice start to the day. We loved the 11am checkout which gave us an hours extra relaxing time after breakfast. The Wilson carpark is only a few minutes walk from the hotel so posed no problem for us. We highly recommend this particular Novotel and it’s definitely going to be where we stay for future concerts.

No complaints at all. There are two Novotel Hotels at Darling Harbour so make sure you realise which one you’ve booked… we went to the other one by mistake…. but that’s our fault not theirs

Fabulous location and wonderful staff - front desk was very helpful. It was great to see that the hotel was reducing their use of plastics, so no little toiletry bottles etc.

Two things - first the bathroom door is made of frosted glass and when the light is turned on in the bathroom, you can see through the door. Not sufficiently clear for details but enough to see shapes and where people are moving to. If you are not a couple this could be a concern. Second - the hotel uses a QR code for room service etc - would not work on our phone so we could not see what was on offer. In other places, room service and other facilities are available through a TV channel - this would have been handy. The hotel bar was not open at about 4pm - had to go outside the pumphouse. It was really loud and noisy. My husband stayed for a drink, but I left. Having said that, we would stay there again.

Location is central to everything whether it was transport (ferries, tram, train) or Food and/or attractions this was the perfect spot. The room size was ideal and the bed and pillows, I wanted to take the pillow home with me it was that good! Also we like the fact that we were able to store our luggage prior to check in and after check out.

There was nothing that our family didn't like.

Location is fantastic- Darling Harbour, playground and Chinese gardens next door. Check in took quite awhile with people lined up all through the lobby, but it was a weekend during Vivid so expect the city to be busy. The staff were very polite, offering water bottles and were very efficient yet kind when checking us in, despite them being under the pump. Room had everything you need, rain shower always a plus and the bed was comfy. Perfect base for my young son and I to visit all the attractions during the day and explore Vivid Sydney at night.

Nothing we didn’t like.

The room was large and over looked the small park in front. The bathroom was clean and has a rainfall showerhead as well as a standard showerhead. Simple tea and coffee making facilities. There was a long couch you could lay down on, a desk and a swivel chair. The buffet breakfast was your usual hot breakfast, cereals etc and some lovely inclusions like smoked salmon, chia seed pudding, little fresh made detox juices, barista made coffee and some Asian fare like kimchi, rice and curry. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the ICC and The Powerhouse Museum, across the park is Starbucks, MacDonald's, and some really great restaurants. The parking garage was a 2 minute walk away. I also had a really specific request with my booking. Staff contacted me in regards to this request. It wasn't fullfilled when I arrived and after asking the front desk to look up my communication emails they fullfilled my request whilst I was out to dinner.

Aircon a little noisy and you could hear when upper floors flushed the toilet.

The location is really good, lots of good food and transport close by, making travelling around really convenient! It’s a small hotel though, probably cause there’s already another one at Darling Harbour, but I like that it’s not so big and massive (personal preference). Security is really good too (entrance doors being keycard access only from certain hours), which was a plus plus for a solo traveller like me. The room makeover attendants were all very friendly and hospitable, especially the two ladies who would make it a point to greet guests as they pass (one of them I was especially grateful towards cause she made it a point to ask if I needed anything for my room because I haven’t asked for housekeeping in 2 days)! Yea, the staff are all generally warm and welcoming, and were always ready to help guests when needed! The room is really spacious as well, and I got the room that overlooked a little bit of the Chinese Friendship Gardens so that was a bonus for me!

Nothing much, it’s just really small things like keeping the hand sanitiser dispenser clean in the elevators (usually I only see the mess in the mornings when people check-in, but it’s cleaned up by the afternoons when I’m back). I really hope they can have a better gym though, like make it a tad bigger and have a few more equipments.

Convenient location close to public transport links both to the iconic spots and for getting to and from the airport. Room 701 was a corner room with a nice view. Extremely comfortable bed, very nice wood finishes common I think to all rooms, fridge and safe, great bathroom including dual shower, large TV. Excellent breakfast included. Public areas very nicely appointed and maintained. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Not all rooms are as airy as 701 and there could be a little traffic noise-nothing too serious though - we just prefer it really quiet.

Location was amazing - so central and within walking distance to everything I needed. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of options.

Lift broke down one night and there was no notification on each floor. I stood for quite a while before being informed by another guest that the lift was broken. It would have been good for staff to post notices on each floor that the lift was out of order but there was nothing. Even using the stairs was a challenge as the doors were locked so people were stuck in the stairwell waiting to be let into their floors.

The location was perfect for travelling with a child. This place is surrounded by great food and great family-friendly places to visit.

The pool was very small and it was impossible to swim in because there were so many people there at the time. The pool is 1.2m deep and isn’t very child friendly (no steps or platforms, more of a lap pool). Also, the bathroom door is glass and had a coating on it that had been scratched/scrubbed off so parts of the door was see-through. The bathrooms had refillable soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles (they were not fixed onto the wall or anything) - one of the bottles had the head loose which made us question how hygenic this approach would be. We went out and bought our own body wash and shampoo.

The location was excellent, it was near so many different food stalls and the ICC, which was the weekend event that we went to stay there for. The staff were absolutely lovely and made the process of both checking in, holding our luggage when we checked out, and giving us back our luggage at the end of the day so easy for me and my two friends, considering it was our first time staying the weekend by ourselves.

Not much really, just the pillows were a bit too hard for comfort was all.
