Amazing two night stay at the Fullerton Hotel Sydney. Housed in the former General Post Office, the hotel is steeped in history. The former GPO was constructed in phases. Beginning in 1866, the first phase opened in 1874. It was the first major building to open in Sydney. In 1891, the clock tower rang its bells for the first time. The Grand Staircase is stunning. Heritage Tours guide visitors through the historic icon. Today, you can stay in the historic GPO or the added modern tower. Our upper room suites were so quiet and comfortable. Definitely add breakfast to your reservation. So nice to sit in the elevated lobby overlooking the courtyard of the historic General Post Office. The hot entrees, cook to order omelettes or eggs, salad bar, cheese bar, fruits and pastries were so delicious. The spring rolls were so hot and tasty. Chocolate croissants filled with chocolate creme were divine. The onion twists were addictive. Love the cooked veggies, hashbrowns and fresh pineapple. Ask for fresh orange or pineapple juice, a latte, cappuccino or hot cocoa. Love the TWG selection of teas. Earl Grey. English breakfast. Waterfruit green tea. Original sencha. Grand jasmine. So many choices. Location is so convenient. Easy to catch the Hop On Hop Off bus, walk to the park, visit the Sydney Tower, or explore the stunning Queen Victoria Arcade. So many shopping malls close by as well. Sudeep and Milos were very helpful with my parents' electronics when they had challenges that I could not address. Thanks for the industrial strength adapter for their electronics. Thanks also for the Happy Anniversary welcome card and cake to help my parents celebrate a very special 60th anniversary. Such a sweet surprise! Highly recommend this Sydney landmark for an unforgettable stay in the heart of the city.
They need more adapter electrical boxes.

Location was great. It was in the heart of the downtown area and really convenient to the light rail and Sydney trains. We really liked the breakfast. We stayed six days and had the buffet breakfast everyday. We never tired of it. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The fitness center was great, but can get a little crowded in the early mornings. If you can avoid those times, you'll have the entire facility to yourself. Room service staff and the breakfast area crew were especially kind. Since we stayed there multiple nights, the one guy remembered us and knew what kind of coffee we liked... sorry I didn't catch his name.
Currently there seems to be some construction projects going on in the hotel. One day, the noise started at 7:45. While we were already awake, it still seemed to be a little too early. I also liked the fridge, but it was full of high-priced products. I would have appreciated the option to have that stuff cleared out so we could more easily use it for stuff we wanted.

The Fullerton is located on George Street, one of Sydney’s main thoroughfares, with easy access to Circular Quay, the Rocks and other city attractions. This very modern, 5-star hotel sits behind a historic post office, making for a very attractive combination of the historic and the modern. Our room was a little small, but very comfortable and staff were responsive to requests for coffee and mugs. We were expecting a smaller, more intimate hotel but were very pleased with our experience.
The room was a little smaller than expected and the desk protruded into the walking space, leading to the possibility of banging your leg each time you walked by. We moved the desk slightly to avoid any incidents.

Great gotel in a location that can‘t be beat - but still really affordable for a 5 star hotel. If you stay here try totake part in the free heritage tour of the building!
We had dinner at „the place“. Inexperienced service, took forever just to take orders, described food for the set „pre theatre menue“ but then delivered something completely different, left dirty stuff on a number of tables… they frankly did not give the impression of trained staff that knows what they are doing (and the food was mediocre at best). Avoid. …but do get a room at the hotel! Just avoid dinner at „the place“!

The location is exceptional-we walked everywhere- to all the top sights and then some. It sits on the corner of two beautiful pedestrian walkways (George Street and Martin Place). It's also next to the tram which goes to the main train station which was easy to use. Although it is a large hotel in the CBD, the staff goes out of its way on a daily basis to assist and is always smiling and friendly. The rooms are tastefully laid out, very roomy wirh very modern bathrooms. The hotel also has a complimentary late check out as well as an extended late check out which you pay for.

The location was fantastic- 3 minute walk to the light rail or train and in the middle of plenty of shopping. It was easy to get to all the main attractions. It was also quiet - I wasn’t disturbed by street noise or loud guests at all. My daughter is a coeliac and the chefs catered to her very well, making her meal specially for her each morning to ensure it was gf.
I hate feather pillows and don’t understand why hotels always have them. The housekeeping staff immediately found alternatives from the pillow menu for me though! I was disappointed with the water pressure in the shower but the bath was huge!

Location was excellent. Right in the centre of town near all the shops and attractions. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety. We upgraded to the premium lounge for three nights and that was very good. Gym was well equipped and spacious for a hotel gym. Bathroom was spacious compared to most hotels. The had memory foam pillows like I have at home which helped me sleep much better. Located right near the main station and walking distance from Sydney Opera House.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic and always had to wait for a table. It was a bit pricey over the Christmas period.

The hotel's location is excellent, and while the breakfast tastes ordinary, there is a wide variety available (though I don't recommend the hotel's coffee). It's just a 2-minute walk to the light rail and a 10-minute walk to the train station (due to an uphill slope). Hyde Park and the Sydney Tower are both nearby. The staff's attitude, whether at the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant, is very good and friendly.
The only drawback is that when calling the front desk for things, there is often a tendency to miss items. For example, once I requested six bottled waters, but only four were delivered. Another time, I found that the housekeeping collected the coffee cups while remaining two saucers. So I asked for three coffee cups, and I received three cups, saucers, and two tea spoons. Despite these minor issues, I would still recommend it!

We greatly enjoyed the club room facilities. The staff were fabulous with their hospitality and the selection of nibbles and drinks was fantastic. So lovely to sit there and enjoy a pre-dinner drink with incredible canapes overlooking the great view. We had come from Perth to do a 4 day blitz of Sydney for our honeymoon and the location was fantastic as everything was walkable from the hotel. Tram was also located just outside for longer distances. Really enjoyed and would certainly stay again. :)
All was lovely. Thank you

Great Location if you want to be in the centre of town, we love it! The Breakfast is fabulous, good quality and everything is delicious. Busy though. Very friendly staff - a few need a bit more training. Rooms are well appointed and bright, great beds (perfect combination of 'just right', not too hard, not too soft!). Overall, we just love this hotel and always come back, despite many little annoyances.....
We really like many aspects of the Fullerton but, consistently, the TV fails to work and sometimes we have to change rooms; housekeeping doesn't come until after we have returned from a busy day, most annoying (so call them before you leave in the morning). Understaffed or undertrained - can be chaos at breakfast. We have noticed that staff are really friendly, but the quality of service is going backwards. Not keen on the new bathroom products, strange smell. Nonetheless, we still really enjoy staying here.
